Quick run to the game shop, picked up the dust tactics Quonsen hut pack. There's 6 unpainted Quonsen huts in a box for $19.95. I of course can't use it for that so putting them up on their ends to use as oil tanks for necromunda. The windows will be gas vents, or connection points for ladders, or where pipes will attach.

The nice thing about the huts is that he doors open and close with a simple push.

Crikey Theo, your innovention knows no bounds... And you still speed through so many builds - your 'to be painted' shelf must be groaning under the weight...

Love those huts,remind of the Anderson type air raid shelters, but what a great idea to make them into oil tanks. Are you going to do surrounding beams like you get on gas storage tanks?

Probably wont get the surrounding structure, working on stairs now. As for unpainted.....that explains most everything I own.

That's just ingenious! I'd cut those doors and windows off and save them for a different project if you are going to cover them anyways.

Well....little to late to save the windows and most of the doors


Used zbar to square out the window, then attached strip stock to the sides for a flat square. Next attaching web trussing out from the boxes.

Will work on steps and the platform tomorrow. I need to find a compas to make round cuts and drawings easier. There's some pretty large gap in the side because the Quonsen hut doesn't sit right, all six I have are slightly off kilter.

So the staircase didn't work out the way I wanted, so I'm changing half way.

In typical Theophony fashion I woke up his morning really early, looked at the project, and hated it. It didn't go to the scrap bin but a more concerted search pulled up the compass I was looking for , and so off came the top layer and the web truss supports. I'll have to create some new supports, but at least to me I like this level look a lot better.

Yeah, the circular levels look better than the square ones. Pipes look good too.

Yes, I like the levels! Perhaps a ladder will look good?

@ruglud, I have stairs in my underhive...we were wealthy and elegant until the hive quake happened and sealed us off from the rest of the hive. Over the years the people starved as they only had plastic trees and no algae farms. The only thing to survive to present day when the next major quake reopened the area were the servo skulls, who had all gone mad with the boredom. That's why you see lots o things not normally available in other hives, like a janitorial crew. And servo police.

Dummy 1 has been enlisted to work the assembly line. Need to create a rotating base for him to raise him up higher. Also his twin brother will be enlisted also.

@Dave, Yes, hey are in an old section of the hive that has been stuck in the past, and iv wring technology has slowed to a crawl. These are "dummies" after all , rivets are far beyond their skills.
@Dr. H, even servo skulls enjoy taking a load off their lift units from time to time , just for you I'll have to make a 007 servo skull. He'll be just as crazy as the rest since he's been shaken AND stirred one too many times.

Second dummy is complete, same as the first, no pics yet, not really needed as they are the same. Thinking of putting hem on a different assembly line than the package sorter. Still churning ideas.

@nerdfest, dust terrain is great , and blame Dave, he got me to buy it by showing comparisons. Also look for best deals online with dust, most are 25-30% off. But Dave has ordered stuff straight from Hong Kong or else where's in china.

Stopped by the library for the kids, so they aren't watching t.v. All summer long, and picked up expendables 1+2 to listen while building. Also picked up more supplies at hobby shop.

Expendables was good, stone cold wasn't bad enough though. Just popped expendables2 in, hopefully it's better. I had this itch that needed to be scratched....scratch built that is. All the warehouses I've seen in necromunda have been missing something.

Aside from LEGO Bicycles and Wheelbarrows, I collect every LEGO forklift kit I can find
I used to drive one, it was fun actually.

I love them too, I started driving them when I was 8 years old at our family business, I've been the regional trainer for them with Home Depot, driving throughout the market to train the people to drive to the stores to train the people in the store who will train the employees. I've got so many stories about forklifts that are ridiculous, but the best time was popping a wheelie on one and bringing it down safe
