Started on some assault marines.


Think I've decided to make weapons black for the majority, but red ccw for veterans. This might change how the Titan gets painted as I made the gun arms yellow, but didn't like that on the marines.

Way too much to catch up with. You've been really busy.

Took some time away from the computer (online class), and worked on the scythes.

I've got a few touch ups to do on the highlighting, but he weapons will also need to be sorted out. I never had a copy of their rules, but the new codex should get to my house tomorrow. Got this weeks school work done, so hopefully I can do other stuff this week, like read the codex.

if the red would be a bit darker...then i say...go for it... but as of now it is too bright and stings in my eye a bit^^

Reminds me of the colors of the penal force in Red Dwarf, the Canaries! Always sent in before anyone else, to test the danger level of a situation they are!

I hope this latest missive finds you and yours well?

The grey'blue fronts to the engine manifold are something I find very pleasing, I suspect it's to do with an aesthetic contrast between that and the (lovely) yellow. May I ask whether the air intakes of your assault marines' jetpacks will be done similarly?

My apologies, on second glance I see that the marine on the furtherst right does indeed have his intakes painted in grey. This also looks great - The Guern

@vik, I think the reds going to get painted black instead. Maybe a special red one here and there, and those ill make darker for you.
@shasho, one of the best shows ever.
@the guern, I liked the grey also, it blends well because its the top highlight on the black. Unfortunately I had painted white over it before ou posted. I think the white helps make it pop even more, but here's a picture to get everyone's impressions.

Also had hit the yellow with white edge highlights, let me know your thoughts on those as well.

I was hoping to get more done today, but I forgot that its Wednesday, so off to the grandparents I go. Hopefully the codex will be on my doorstep when I get home.

Yea I didnt want to come off as jerk sounding, some people like yellow and red together. But that comment always seems to make the ones that dont, realize they dont Though Hulk Hogan made a lot of money with that color scheme

Hogan oozed cool back in the day though. He could wear anything. Andre the Giant didn't let anyone else "beat" him and sort of take over the reins...

Yup, Hogan was cool, no one could rip his own shirt like him...

The red thingy is a base support for a column or a hatch.

@graven, I forgot a ton of old guys, he could also be nurgle as he'd toss them into a cage to "rot". His stance is similar to the nurgle fantasy character anyway.

I need to find some Infantry with simple knives and rifles and pistols, no special weapons, no heavy weapons, Penal Legion with yellow fabric uniforms and black armor over the yellow outfits, they will be sent into the area first to see if the enemy is there or not. Well shaso if your gonna do it, do it right and make an Ace . You could even make him for the badass competition. Just make sure the rimmer gets a sign stuck to his back saying smeghead, or kick me!

Craig Charles who played Lister has an excellent show on Radio 6 where he plays funk and jazz, i am sure you creative americans can find a way to listen to it; it's very much worth the effort (like wise Robert Llewellyn's (Kryten) carpool which is I believe free on Itunes).

Theo, I wonder if I may ask a question? The Dust tactics Quosenne Huts you have look fantastic and I'm about to invest in a set, but have you used/bought/seen their tennement buildings? Do you have an opinion on them? They look interesting to me but not sure how well they scale with heroic scale miniatures?
