Forgot to mention in my star wars haul I also got more paint to paint more piggies. Looks like we'll be getting that new used car this weekend, unless someone buys it before us, but were picking it up tomorrow for an overnight test drive and to let our mechanic look at it.

Crappy day today, the car I was ready to buy was sold before we drove to get it, found out after the drive . The next car he had was the same make but a year older yet still was more expensive , so we drove an hour to another dealership across the border into Illinois and found a newer version 2011 that has only 37,000 miles on it with a clear carfacts. It's in our driveway now as an extended test drive, going earl in the am to buy it.

Work sucked the morning guy did precisely , but stayed an got three hours of overtime, which then the boss put me cleaning hospital rooms for two and a half hours only to come back to find the morning guy did more of nothing while I was gone.

Since we were car shopping my wife left her house keys at home, but when we separated at the car dealership I gave her my key to get into the house. The plan was for her to leave the front door unlocked with the porch light on. I got home, lights on, but the doors locked and its midnight. Wife is upstairs asleep with the phone plugged in on the kitchen counter on silent, we have no home phone line to call. I ring the doorbell, but for once my kids keep through it. Took 20+ minutes to get in the house, ths after going and banging on each of my kids window .

Oh and I go new shoes the other day, was wearing them to break them in, but have had my old shoes for work, but since we were car shopping I left my old shoes at home. My feet are killing me.

Sorry for the rant , needed to vent before going upstairs and trying to go to sleep.

Theo. Next time get tent and minis find suitable rocky area make a real man cave. Add extention cords and things... space heaters. The spots close to the garage work best . Its good to vent to people who know your pain like me. Unlike you I had to break back in..

Feel for you Theo, little things that string together like that really get me. The guy at work is probably the straw that broke the camels back, accidently bop him on the head and leave him in the MRI machine, gagged and bound, and turn the machine on all night.

Mini-Yay for new car. What is it?

The car dealer told us to show up early because they only have three finance guys working the weekend. 7:55 I'm at their door, the finance guys don't show till 9:00ish , but were first in line and all the paperwork is ready .

We're getting a 2011 Chevy equinox with 37,000 miles. It looks great and great gas milage, it fits everyone in the family and most importantly I can fully stretch my 6'5" legs out in the front seat. Something I can never find and my head doesn't scrape the roof.

I don't think the new guy will will make the probationary period. The boss last night had a vein in his head throbbing bigger than my arm .

Had to Google the Equinox, don't have that in the UK (couldn't afford to run it with the price of petrol and road tax) - meaty looking motor you're getting their, like it a lot

X-Wing minis look great, I may well buy into the game this year if I can find some good UK prices.

And what a crappy day you had, hope today has been better for you - can't get much worse...

Today has been better. Got the car. Some BBQ. And work is light today, think the flu but has taken a break here finally.

I don't know what miniaturemarkets shipping is across the pond, but usually anything over $99 retail is free shipping in the us. It looks to be a fun game, but with school starting back up I haven't had a chance to play.

The engine is great for gas milage, it gets 36mpg which is double my rodeo, and double what the van has been getting since the engine problems. Tomorrow were giving my parents the van. Theirs is shot and money is too tight right now for them to buy something new. Our van will last the. A few years with as little as they drive.

my first car was that color. My dad got it for me from a friend of a friend. The first thing he told me about it was the daughter the guy bought it for died in a car accident......but not in this car. It reeked of cigar emails as the father couldn't drive anymore so he would go and sit in the car and smoke his stogies. Leatherette pea green interior too. That was a chick magnet

Well, I know some of the medical parts would be neat to use for different things, but this part especially was nice its part of the IV kit, and easily separates into 4 interesting bits. I put separated pieces next to it, hopefully you will see some details from them, also some parts upside down so you can see both sides.

The little blue and white caps look like excellent gun barrel bits for the base or the tips of cannons, or even engine exhaust parts.

Also with a small square of clear plastic from the x-wing packages (galorn's idea), and some textured medical tape, I hope that the squares will look like solar panels to power this satellite. .

Now those rebel scum will have to destroy the satellite before it can alert the empire o their rebel base. But I don't think those nerfherders could get within a parsec of this satellite

@dr.h, not sure of antennas, at this scale they'd be so tiny.

I guess my satellite will be more like a Hubble telescope with no protuberances. Anything else on it would bee too small to tell, although I might rivet it .

On another note 50 degrees last night when we went to bed, 17 this morning with two inches of snow and flash freeze advisory. My kids are off school again today , they said this winter was going to be as bad as 1983, I just don't remember that year that well. They already had yesterday off for Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King birthday. So this is the fourth or fifth week where they have not had a full week of school in a row, of course two of those weeks were Christmas break, but really.

I did prime the satellite while it was somewhat warm yesterday, might get some time to try and paint it up today...yes me and paint

The wife and i were watching old episodes of Law&order and one of the guest stars was col. klink, he didn't look too different, except he has put on weight and lost the monocle. That got me watching old hogans heroes episodes this morning, and I needed a new avatar anyways

As for the tank , I will admit I'm not a huge knowledge source for tanks, but hat one of yours is sweet.

Well this show of Law and Order is over 20years old, so not sure if that's "current work" , but he was someone I instantly recognized, but I did wonder "could that really be him? Shouldn't he be dead or in a home by now?" Not nice I know, but that's my train of thought.

I think the coworker of mine that I had a discussion with on Saturday quit today , his name is off the schedule, so that or they did see him doing damage to company property like I thought. He will be missed NOT!!!!

I would, however, do the wings/solar panels in a way that differentiates them from the TIE fighters more. Just to avoid any confusions.

Satellite is great, but I agree with the good Doctor and vote for different solar panel colours - something more reflective with a blue tint. I'd also make them longer/ thinner... asides from that, great work.

Heard today abut the crazy snow storms. Our NY office was on high alert with the evening workers being told not to come in if they didn't think they'd be able to get home. When I spoke to my NY colleague earlier he said there was 12" of snow and it was still coming down - this was about 9pm UK / 4pm NY

Snow all day here, already dropped to 18f, going to 2f, have the kitchen sink running a thread of water to avoid pipe freezing. still snowing, road is iced, we are stuck up on this hill, oh how I wish I had a snow cat

I like the satellite, but I agree, make the panels different. you are of course, allowed to make the same TIE Fighter sounds though.
