I know its nice to give your models flexibility, but it strikes me that a squad of TL MP suits could have at least the pods glued without loss of future effectiveness, because its been a staple suit loadout for a long time.

Opinions in a post(card) please.

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.

Me personally? I'd always magnetize so in the event I want to run another loadout I can. Instead of being stuck with a specific thing.

It also increases the resale value of a model if its magnetized and has all the bits.

Those suits actually have some really nice snap-on action. Not really a need for magnets.

I do remember some weapons fitting nicely in the model when I played Tau, but I kept losing my weapons. So magnets are just safer overall.

I'm looking forward to magnetizing all my crisis suits, because it seems like they would be REALLY easy to do, I have a metric buttload of them, and it will be good practice for the technique, which I don't have a bunch of experience with. I've pretty much always thought that when it came to magnetizing, the crisis suits would be one of the easiest units to do it to. So I will probably magnetize my pods as well.

Good point about resale and also about using them to practice.

Thank you gents, most helpful of you.

It is easy, but there are a few things to be mindful of:

1. Polarity can be a pain in the butt, so be sure to mark the magnets before setting so you know you're getting the polarity right.

2. The sheer force of the magnets decreases with distance, very, very quickly. So, be sure to use some type of stick to create a depth gauge for when you are drilling the holes for the magnets. This ensures that the magnets are perfectly flush so that they don't prevent the weapon from sitting correctly and also ensures that the bond between the two magnets is at its strongest.

3. Use a really good glue and give it time to fully cure before mating the magnets, otherwise a well-set pair of rare earths has such a strong bond that they will pull an improperly glued magnet out of its recess. Also, be wary of applying too much glue or you'll end up with the magnets not setting flush with the surface they are recessed into.

If you have a setup you always take on your suits, because it works well with your playstyle/army composition/ect, then go ahead. I did the same thing to every suit but my HQ one.

Magnets are cheap. Always magnetize crisis suits, even if you think you aren't going to change them.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I agree!! Magnetize them up!! You never know when you might want to play a scenario and find out it'd be nicer to have something else there
