There are only three places where I see this being a powerful combination. Otherwise its is a nice boon, but I don't see it being all that breaking.

Twin plasma on a character model that gets to make presision hits on a 5+. The best chance of sniping out that all important model.

Twin Fusion on DS sucide suits for those who really fear the AV14.

Twin missile pods on drone controlling commanders who take over a marker drone squad. This way it can still add good firepower at range while the markers do thier job.

I would say this is the deathknell for Railsides, as double fusion crisis suits make the already laughable Heavy Rail Rifle(Only rifle in the codex without Rapid Fire) even more pointless for anti-tank.

Missilesides are still good for EWO defense of your gunlines.

Heyyyy not a bad idea! Both are 36" so why not? And not like any of the "do not shoot" buffs help marker lights anyway (technically the reroll would but youre landing on 2+ anyway, rather fire a couple missiles instead of rerolling 1s)

One thing (which is kinda funny) i have noticed about the tau dex is all the HQs are for specific tactics, none of which are my cup of tea lol so i end up slapping a buffcommander on something for the hq slot requirement. This could be a good choice for it!

Looking at Dual MP suits, they are the best all round choice for me, A squad of 3 pumps out 12 Shots which combined with MLs can hit on a 2+, that's going to hurt anything let alone Light Armour! I think combined with a Skyray it would also make good Anti Flyer as the Skyray's MLs can be used to raise the BS of a Crisis unit, which is good if you currently have a skyray in your list or you don't want to buy VTs on every unit.

In my list I've made a Crisis unit with each suit having a Fusion Blaster and 2 Missile Pods, which go with my commander who has a puretide chip, early on in the game they can wreak havoc on light armour/heavy infantry until they get close enough to damage heavier armour with the FB.

And lets be honest, 8-9 Wounds against horde isn't bad either, it's roughly the same as a 10 man FW Squad, showing that the suits have good versatility.

Indeed, In my last game 2 units of xv8's each with 2 dual non TL plasmas unleashed 16 ap2 shots on a terminator assault squad with each with SS while the others lobbed their missiles at em.

only one survived that portion of the shooting phase. A nearby unit of firewarriors buffed by the marker drones finished the job

I loves my new pretty disco suits.

I'm still pretty iffy on the Markerlight Commander concept, simply because it pigeon holds him into a specific role. Its fine, but I think I like the versatility of other configs better. That said, I think that I'll use a dual weapon setup sparingly in my standard suits. I can see a nice deathstar unit with Shadowsun in it, but shes currently something I'm particularly interested in running.

My new elite section at 1850:

Riptide (Ion Accel, Early Warning Override, TLFB, Stim Inject)
3x Crisis (PR, TLMP) w/ 2 shield drones
2x Crisis (PR,PR) w/ 3 gun drones

How has this worked out? I had this idea myself since I play against alot of mech lists so I'm curious to see if it's a worthwhile option.

So i had a thought, i posted it in another thread but noone commented on it so i'll put it here since its fitting.

Commander w/ Flamer, Drone Controller, and Vectored Retrothrusters --- Sig Systems: CnC Node, MS Spectrum Suite, and Neuroweb Jammer.
2 Marker Drones

3x Crisis Suits (all identical)
2x Missile Pods (not TL'd)
Target locks
2 Marker Drones.

The idea is i have a good range firing platform that also has guaranteed 8 Marker lights hitting on BS5 and twinlinked (nothing i can find says they cannot be twinlinked) and the 12 S7 AP4 shots on the crisis suits are twinlinked and ignore cover. You could get the Puretide for tank/monsterhunter, but depends on the rest of your army if youd rather it somewhere else.

Twinlinking the markerlights also helps if they move and fire snaps, since markerlightsare heavy (and i cant find anything saying drones are relentless)

Oh well, guess it makes sense for only BSs to have them or you would never see another Gun Drone on Battlesuits.

As to layouts these are the ones I use in my army:

Shas'O - Plasma Rifle, TL - Missile Pod, Shield Generator and Irridium Armour
2 x Shas'Vre with Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod and Shield Generator each

Shas'El - Fusion Blaster, Cyclic Ion Blaster (even better this Edition), Stimulant Injector, Vectored Retro Thrusters, Shield Drone and Gun Drone

3 x Shas'Ui with Burst Cannon and TL - Missile Pod each

3 x Shas'Ui with Burst Cannon and TL - Flamer each

I assume the Shas'el is a commander?

I wish...i wouldnt be afraid of the Gets Hot! part since 3+ is fairly easy to save, not to mention more than 1 wound case you goof a save.

Never pulling rail rifles or ion rifles on my pathfinders. Expensive, and squishy as hell.

Since this is clearly a unit that will be firing from a distance, you might find it better to drop the flamer and VRT on the commander to free up points elsewhere in your list.

Flamer and VRT are only 10pts for both and are both there to counter charges. More likely to be shot out off of the table than charged i know but its only 10pts so meh.

Overwatch for solo tau units got a lot less scary when i noticed they cant fire both weapons in overwatch, so i like the random flamer on the guy that never fires anyway lol

MTs only allow you to fire 2 weapons in the shooting phase, however Riptides are allowed as they are monstrous creatures, and hence can fire two weapons as standard.

I've had good success with 3 xv8's w/ TL MP&MP. Team leader w/ a puretide chip for tank hunter attached to Shadowsun w/ command link drone which re-rolls 1's Half of the MP shots you get to re-roll for twin-linking and w/ Shawdowsun you get to re-roll all 1's anyway. Throw in just 2 markerlights and it gets ugly. I'm trying to figure out if it makes more sense to run a few more teams of this setup or run more Missilesides w/ missile drones. Anyone had good success with running a TL Fusion/PR or TL Fusion/Fusion team yet? I love the feel of both but how are you getting close enough w/o being a suicide unit?

^ Haven't run double Fusion with this codex yet, but a Tetra and attached Shadowsun should make deep striking a lot safer than it used to be.

Tetra allows you to re-roll DS scatter and Shadowsun's warlord trait gives 3d6 Assault jump. So if manage to drop inside the ideal 7-9" away from the poor tank you want demolished, you can jump roughly 10" away from the enemy. And Shadowsun's cover and drones will make you that much more resilient to shooting.

Also the Tetra will bring markerlights with it, so 8 BS5 re-rollable fusion, with accurate deep strike and high mobility and defence?

I'm going to love it!

To my knowledge the only thing that has changed w/ tetras are the targeting array no longer exists and the target lock went bye bye. Still has DP and homing beacon. It comes down to whether you want 5 pathfinders at BS3 w/ a 5+ or a 4 shot BS3 fast skimmer moving 12" w/ a 4+. Basically same points. I'm considering a few of both.

No, they havent yet, but marker beacon and its function is specifically defined in the FW update. I doesn't refer to the old, outdated codex, so I'm rather sure the ones on tetras are still valid.

i want to run fusion heavy crisis in a non suicide deepstrike and ive been wanting to get beacons out there reliably. It looks like my only option is other crisis or recon drones and im not a big fan of it (pathfinders should find cover and stay put) Too bad the recon drone cant stay with a devil fish old school style. although it would work to keep your units off table first turn and keep them alive longer.

Crisis suits ant get Homing bacons, only pos relay which is for outflank.

what you want are Stealth suits which are Highly survivable in partial cover. take 3 with team leader upgrade, homing bacon, 2 shield drones, infiltrate and sit tight for back up.

Just remember that you can still fire two weapons as interceptor shots, due to the wording on interceptor. Any weapon with the interceptor rule can fire at the end of the movement phase at a target that came in from reserves that turn. Nothing restricting it to normal shooting rules.
