We have you all registered for the event! Just show up and tell us your name, you will be good to go. I also know most of you in real life, hahaha, so basically just walk up and give me a high five or something. This will be pretty casual, so don't worry about a big crunch at registration. So long as you bought your event ticket on Frontline Gaming, we have all of your info.

The rounds run 2 hours and 15 minutes. You will have a lot of time to check out the con, it runs all night I believe on Saturday.

Well, I promised myself before I leave the SoCal area for upstate New York I'd finally finish my daemons, so I have yet to worry about my display board. Hopefully I can get the models finished, I'm just waiting for the rest of my bases. What is the parking like for the event

Reece is kinda hard to miss for entry, tall, skinny guy. So are we going to have to wait in line for our badges then go find you or will you be able to get us front for that as well?

I am indeed a tall, skinny guy! haha, and I will be in front, by the main doors.

Parking is no problem, the convention center has loads of parking.

As I was told, you will be able to just walk up, get your badge, and then go in. We will be in the back corner. Come find us, or come in with me, and we will get you guys all set up and ready to rock.

Ah ok, understood. Yes, it should be. So long as this year goes well and Anime Expo invites us back, we will plan to continue doing it. We're excited, I think this is going to be a super fun event.

Well, it was a great tourny Reece, I can't wait for Vegas now. I will have those dang models completely based, and touch up the KoS so Frankie actually is staring at the paint job and not the body part she has six of!

Congrats to Janthkin on the win and MikeFox for taking home best painted. Check CnC tomorrow for a post about the tournament and the few pictures I took. Probably won't see you guys again until Vegas Reece, but I can't wait for that one!

I hate to jump on bandwagons, but this was a super fun event. Even if I did play Chaos 4/5 games!

Grats to Janthkin for a solid 5-0 showing with his Daemons/CSM and to all the other deserving winners. I'll be back next year for sure.

We were all noobs at one point. I received a free Flames of War rulebook once for my gross play. I even received the Grossest Golf trophy once in a team charity event where you played the best ball hit by your team... We still couldn't shoot par, or even close to it

This was a great event! Thanks for putting it on Frontline Crew. Definitely a motivator for future tournys. The Con was hilarious too. Congrats to all my Daemon overlords.

Sorry Blackmoor. I tried! I got 2nd but didn't get a chance to play Kevin. I played Tau for the first time in round 4...let them go first...yeah so that happened...so i wasn't on the final table.

I think everyone was just being nice; they didn't want to beat me up in front of my wife.

I had some fantastic opponents, and some games that were literally down to a single die roll. My game against Cooper's tyranids, for example - if his Biovores hadn't failed a morale check & fell off the table, I don't get the single extra point towards Big Guns Never Tire, and he wins instead. Tight games!

So, for those of you who weren't there:
0) The usual mad props to the Frontline Gaming crew. They've got the format nailed down pretty tight.
1) FW was a non-factor. I think there were a couple of Contemptors in one of the other CSM armies, and that was it.
2) Anime Expo runs MUCH more efficiently than Comikazee. The moderately-long line for pre-registration badge pickup moved constantly at a brisk pace; you scanned the barcode on your pre-registration email at one of the 20(!) scanning stations, and their on-demand badge printing had you printed up by the time you walked another 5 feet. I wish Adepticon could adopt something so effective, though it would likely be overkill (a full order of magnitude difference in attendee levels).
3) No "fish bowl" effect; the tabletop & console gaming was in a completely separate hall, which required a different level of badge from general con-trawlers, and we were in a fenced-off area in the back corner of that. A few respectful spectators came by, but I didn't see anyone touching models or making comments.
4) 2:15 is still proving to be a tight window for 1750 games; 6e is just plain slower, especially given the random elements. For example, I have 15 rolls to make before every game, and while I have a handy cheat sheet for my army made up, so I just have to circle the appropriate result for every roll I make, it still takes a few minutes simply because my opponent needs to know what I'm doing with each roll.

That triple-riptide list is pretty brutal, unless you've got 2+ invulnerable saves available. Which I had, when I played against it.

I had plans last weekend and I almost blew them off to go.

I really like the BAO format/missions.

5 Games over the weekend seems about right. The way that most GT level events are getting up to 7 and 8 games makes the whole weekend unenjoyable.

I am glad that FW was a non-factor. There are a lot of new toys and armies out there now that GW went on a book printing frenzy and most people do not need it. I still think that limits are needed on it just so that someone does not bring 12 hyperios launchers or an IG artillery army. The fact that someone hasn’t does not mean that someone won’t.

Yeah i was more worried about the ion head...with all the riptides he was only deleting about one squad a turn...it was mainly the markerlights uping BS on stuff. Was expecting a lot more ignore cover.
