@ Blackmoor.

I'd be interested in your take on people's reactions to you running Tyranids and losing. I hope you'll post some battle reports or at least some notes and thoughts.

Blackmoor did awesome! He drew against a nasty Mechdar list with 2 wraith knights and even beat a Taudar list! He finally lost on game #5 against the eventual champion, Alex Fennel and his wave serpent seer council Deldar.

Congrats Allan. Very nicely done!

Had a great time, some great games, and some good times.

What were the results from rounds 6 and 7? I only saw round 8 up on torrent of fire.

I had a great game with Alan Bajramovic on round 5 when he knocked me out of the running for top 8. His list may not look that mean on paper, but his beast pack is the perfect counter for IG artillery when their 4+ is rerollable, and he makes excellent use of Eldar speed with the LOS blocking terrain.

I had a great time, and I'm looking forward to next year.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Hey, so where could I find who actually won LVO? Just curious as to what some of the outcomes were, along with what armies were run etc. Thanks!

Did you not read any of the previous posts in the thread?

I really wish I could have attended! Gadgetstar doesn't do great at 1750 though.

Would love to see the batreps.

I haven't been able to find anything on winners of each round yet... I'll check again though. Go jy2!

Do you have to be a paying member of torrent of fire to view it? I'm signed up, but am not a paying member, and can only see round 8.

No click the little button at the top with the 3 lines and select "results" then there will be 3 tabs at the top for round 1-2-3

Too many Tau players means everyone has beating Tau on their mind.

Reece, Frankie, and crew... The LVO was an incredibly awesome event. You nailed it. Every aspect, from events, rules, terrain, schedule, prize support... all of it. I was very impressed. No doubt the most fun my Wife and I have had at a 40k event. And, quite possibly the most fun that could be had in Vegas this last weekend.

As a guy who finished firmly in the middle of the pack. I can say that I had five great games of 40k against five fun and well matched opponents. All of my games were battles, coming down to the final turn to see who won. Two games being so close that they were decided by a single dice roll.

We are already looking forward to next year. Thanks again Frontline Gaming for all the hard work put into making this happen for us

Thanks to all who posted all the photos. It's one of those events I'd like to get out to the west coast at least once for the experience. Great looking armies and tables (can't wait to get my Mega Mat!)

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

As far as I know Forgeworld Army lists are not allowed however if that Necron HQ is listed by himself outside of the army list then he's fair game. I don't own any of the Imperial Armour books so I can't verify for sure.

Kulakh does not have any proviso to be taken outside of a Dark Harvest army, and so ishould not be allowed in the tournament per the listed rules.

Forge World units will be allowed so long as they are neither a Super Heavy nor Gargantuan Creature. The most recent version of the rules must be used. This means not just the “40K Approved” units, but any that do not fall within the above restrictions.

I don't know if the LVO had a list of 'allowed IA units' and if not, this kind of mistake can easily happen.

Something good to take as a lesson learned for next year, looks like.

I had a fantastic time, Reece and co put on a great event and I look forward to attending for as many years as possible. This is certainly one of the best run an most fun tournaments I have been to. Winning a texas hold-em tournament at the hotel on Thursday and then being lucky enough to win Renaissance Man and Tournament Champion on Saturday and Sunday made for a surreal weekend for me.

Despite all the hate over on Bols (note to self, stop reading the thread there!) I had to work hard in every game and a couple of key dice rolls in the quarter final and again in the final made all the difference.

I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone in Chicago in April

Congratulations again Alex.

I hope you enjoyed beating up on my poor Tyranid army that has the worst codex out there.

Thank you Allan.

Why yes, I did enjoy beating up on the worst codex out there. I have no idea how you managed to go undefeated up to that point

I'm just still getting revenge on you for the first time we ever played at Adepticon when all your stupid daemon units scattered close enough to my army to charge.
