You might be surprised by how many of the people on here are over 30...
Didnt say that it is impossible . I just doubt that any of the people I know right now that are playing will still play in 10 years.
And as painting and holidays goes , I have no free time . I go with my parents to work in germany and then to help my grand parents when summer ends, that is how I bought the army I have now saved for 8 months and got IG.
Go to the store, any Wal-Mart, or Meijer's style store. They have a whole sections of paints. You can buy a very large tube of paint cheap. I got 8oz of Forest Green and 2 oz of Flesh tone acrylic paint for under $5. They even have packs of different size brushes for $4.99.
Closest thing to that are Obi stores. they have black and white paint in cans , no other colors and no paints in tubes . there are stores that sell paints in tubes , but they are for professional painters and they cost even more then the stuff GW sells. I also dont know if they wouldnt damage plastic models .
And you can paint at your kitchen table, just put down something so not to get paint everywhere.
not realy. Mom cooks dinner then and then uses the kitchen table to prepare stuff for her work at school . There is one more room , but that is my parents room and my dads sits there and he doesnt like to be interupted .
They have time on their hands and will generally work for peanuts.
I dont know how the prices are outside of Warsaw , but no one that gives adds about painting takes less then 1-1,5 euro per human sized model . For me that is no "peanuts".
If your parents are concerned about spills and so forth then I'd suggest going to your local art store for a hobby station
Not realy. It is more a space problem . I cant paint in my room as I share the table with my broter and when I say share , it means we rotate . I do my homework , then he does his . there is no space or 2 people . there is the kitchen table , but my mom isnt using it for making food it servs as her desk to prepare stuff for school . the last table is in my parents room, my dad watchs TV there and doesnt like to be interupted. I could paint on the balcony , but it is kind of a warm right now and I worry about plastic models. I left plastic stand with an Autocannon when I was gluing them up and it melted a bit

Time, space, money, whatever isn't an excuse not to paint your mini's up. The point isn't how fast you paint them, simply that you make an effort to paint them, and make progress with your army. Maybe it's only one mini a week, that's still 52 over the course of a year. What I'm really hearing is, "I don't have the confidence to paint my mini's", or "I'm not interested in painting my mini's"
Unpainted mini's, multiple proxies, partially built and unfinished models don't eliminate the ability to roll some dice, but it sure does take an awful lot of flavor out of the game/hobby. Maybe I'm off base here, but I think it's actually a bit of a sign of disrespect to your opponent to consistently field a gray army. Base, dry brush, wash, done. It's not really that hard to come up with something remotely decent and table ready.

I have nerve damage and any attempt at painting is met with uncontrollable shaking in my arm.
Guess I'm disrespectful, huh? :|

Evidently it doesn't stop you from building your models, I'd think that any attempt to build would be nearly as difficult. I have no idea what your social circle is, but I hate the assembly part of the hobby. It's obviously necessary in order to get to the painting part though. Perhaps you have a friend that might be willing to trade the assembly for the painting. That being said, as I mentioned before, if somebody has zero intention of painting their models, not much to be done about that. And also as I said, it certainly adds far more flavor to see two painted armies battling it out, instead of two gray armies with missing pieces, proxies or just bases with legs.

My depression and mental state means that I rarely find myself in any sort of mood to paint, and when I do, it's about half a model. The perfectionist in me keeps shouting "You're gak, you're gak, you're gak..." whenever it doesn't look good. I spend hours painting single models (the shortest time I took to paint anything was about 2 days for a single skink priest; the longest was a Tau Shas'_ which took about a week of battling my willingness to complete; the average is about 3-4 days per single infantry model) and I can only find it in myself to paint about 5 times a year. Combine all that with the fact that I simply despise painting, and there's your reason why I don't paint my models.
I also can't stand the thought of someone else painting my army, or following schemes someone else came up with. My armies are mine, I write their fluff, I come up with everything about them; delegating the task of painting them to someone else feels wrong. Similarly, rushing an army for tabletop feels wrong, and bastardising my colour scheme to make it easier to paint feels wrong.
Long story short, I'm not fielding a painted warhammer army any time soon, and if anyone feels upset about it, then it's tough.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

There are some techniques that you may be able to work with. Drop me a PM if you'd like to discuss that.
