Lol I love how he deletes all negative comments and then pretends there is nothing but support lol... So 'Jason', who is doing all your conversions since Dan and his associated wife/ex-wife are not the ones... you? Where did Jason post his work before? Someone this involved in the community must have a history online... where is it? Or did you become a conversion master in a dark cave somewhere without electricity then suddenly decide to start an internet business in a community you never participated in? Where is the history of Jason? Just send a link to CMON or something, you're good enough to have been noticed and known.

Look at his replies to that guy Kronk Kronkington. He deleted Kronk Kronkington's posts, but left the replies that started with "Kronk," Also, he called Kronk Kronkington stupid. Poor guy.

So to sum up to anyone who might seem to think that resinforge could have done nothing to prove their 'supposed 'innocence'.

Phase 1

1. Dakka posts a warning that Resinforge is being run by Daniel Mandelbaum. Because Mandelbaum is a well known figure to our community, certain alarm bells go off.
2. People enquire on Resinforge's facebook wall if this is indeed the case.
3. Resinforge hires an apparently German security company to issue a cease and desist to Dakka, and attempts to get one person fired from their place of work for making a comment on facebook. They also claim to have received several death threats and filed several police reports.
4. Investigation shows that one police report has been filed, by...Daniel Mandelbaum. Mandelbaum is also mentioned by name in the issued C & D.

Phase 2

1. The C & D turns out to be a dud issued by a mysterious person who Resinforge apparently paid a hundred dollars to. Resinforge claims to have been scammed.
2. Lexicanum, another popular facebook page, starts having posts taken down on Resinforge and Mandelbaum after another mysterious entity starts reporting them.
3. Resinforge says they intend to attend a Horus Heresy weekend and buy several copies of Fulgrim. After it turns out that the numbers of Fulgrim available are going to be very limited, Resinforge frantically backtracks, modifying their statement initially to acquiring them from other even attendees.

Phase 3

1. Resinforge is unable to post a single picture of their trip to the Uk to buy Fulgrims. When pressed, this is apparently because members of the resinforge team are in the photos. All of them. And somehow, Resinforge is bizarely technically incapable of cutting out the faces/figures or blurring them appropriately.
2. Daniel Mandelbaum supposedly leaves the company.
3. Despite several requests, Resinforge proves unable to provide a business registration number, something legally required for all Texan companies. When pressed on the point, this is because somehow a lawyer needs to be involved, and a new business registration number acquired. Which entirely evades the original question of, 'what is your current number'.
4. A phone recording of one of the other supposed owners of resinforge is made. In it, she tells the man who Resinforge previously attempted to get fired to not harass Resinforge by attempting to contact them. The recording is bizarely bad quality.

Can anyone seriously read the above and tell me this is an actual legitimate company? One that I should buy from? Accusations of scamming and kim/stephanie's identities aside, I would NEVER buy from a company with the track record I just laid out.

They could have ended, or at least placated, a not insignificant portion of the issues by providing their current business registration number. Even though DM was on it, it would have proved they were actually a legit company in terms of tax et al. Oh well. Their facebook meltdown is awesome. ..

@Ketara: I corrected it to reflect the actual happenings as we remember them. Also added some relevant tidbits

EDIT: no misunderstandings please, your summary was already great. But with the first thread deleted there was a bit of mixup as to the beginnings of our involvement

Phase 1

1. Dakka posts a warning that Resinforge is being run by Daniel Mandelbaum. Because Mandelbaum is a well known figure to our community, certain alarm bells go off.
2. Lexicanum, a "news" facebook page for the Wiki of the same name, shares the original warning posts originating from Dakkadakka from another painting Facebook page. The warning and direct questions to Resinforge are repeatedly taken down on after another mysterious entity starts reporting them. Resin Forge was previously involved with Lexicanum an other pages by using them as advertising grounds for their services and showcase for their models.
3. People enquire on Resinforge's facebook wall if this (see 1.) is indeed the case.
4. Resinforge hires an apparently German security consulting company to issue a cease and desist to Dakka, and attempts to get one person fired from their place of work for making a comment on facebook (from home and not during work time). They also claim to have received several death threats and filed several police reports.

Resinforge sends a transcript of the paypal transaction details bearing the name "Kim Hernandez".

And somehow, Resinforge is bizarely technically incapable of cutting out the faces/figures or blurring them approrpiately.
5. In response to a query Resinforge sends transaction details from paypal. This time however the transcript suddenly bears the name "Stephanie Hernandez", a name well-known and associated to Daniel Mandelbaum.
6. Resinforge announces to be harrassed by Lexicanum and Dakkadakka and cites this as the reason for closing up shop. While still refusing to show a business registration or pictures from the Horus Heresy Weekender.
7. Even though announcing to close up Resnforge publicly continues business on their Facebook page.

How?

Resin Forge have not supplied any verifiable, fixed address information (address, land line, business registration). They operate through a Facebook page and a mobile phone. Given the small amount of stock, they could run their whole business out of the back of a van.

Those facts might give some pause for thought about the reliability of the company.

I'm amazed at the amount of people that are sad that they are "Closing", even if RF were legit, which I doubt, watching that explosion on Facebook certainly would have sent me elsewhere. I wouldn't deal with a company that seems incapable of dealing with things in a professional manner.

Didn't you know? Being unbiased is singing their eternal praise! If it aint that or crying over them closing, it's not staying on the page from what I can tell.

Hmm. I have a "disposable" facebook account (beyond the one that was banned for asking a simple question) which I used to make a few thoughtful, honest comments on this explosion. Mostly comments about PR and public outrage not being particularly professional. That disposable account has now been banned and all comments deleted as well.

Clearly ONLY support will be allowed, despite the "Free speech and all that" (referencing the RF reply re: racist comment made by RF).

This is truly an example for anyone who wishes to do business of how not to handle public relations.

HA. That's got me laughing over here.

But at least crazy Amy had a legal business.

When I was going through my Manballfondler ordeal, his local DA said it wasn't big enough, even combined with Alph and others, for them to act. USPS and local PD had about the same reaction.

I know quite a few people who use FB as a facet for their business; mind you, they were also well established before FB. So that aspect doesn't really give me pause.

RF decided giving up was easier then giving in? Now this gives me pause, if I hadn't already had doubts to begin with.

If he said it for real, then Yakface could sue him for libel, but he has just posited it as a "for instance".

Obviously it's total bs, and once again the reader is led to question why a "legit" company's "PR professional" staff would make such a comment.

But surely it is obvious by now that Resin Forge is very far from a legitimate company.

It looks like Resin Forge is intent on torching whatever reputation they had been maintaining at this stage. Despite frequent refusals to answer direct questions there did atleast seem to be an attempt to maintain a positive appearance to their customers (those who hadnt read this thread atleast) but now its looking progressively worse.

They continue sales. Said so themselves multiple times - publicly. No giving up or in. Just not bothering anymore to even pretend to be legit and to provide that business registration

Weirdly Mandelbonder then goes onto scream 'freedom of speech' when accused of being racist....!

So really is a couple of hundred points short of a full list.

Still not answered the damn questions as well - cant he even at this point just say 'no I didn't go'?

Has he zero dignity?
