I used to like 40kradio a lot. But every podcast got more and more about kickstarters and stuff non-40k related. Last few were jush meh. Then when i read the comments on the may 1st showand it seems its was a romeo bitch-fest and more non 40k talk. I decided to pass on that one and leave a comment asking them to get back on track.
Now the new podcast is out and surprsie no comments allowed. Seems like the first time the shut off commenting.
I always find it funny when people who have a podcast commenting on things DISABLE comments on there own stuff.
I used to love this podcast but now i'd much rather listen to my deepstrikeradio and yakromunda podcasts when they come out.
just saying
p.s. if anyone comments negatively about my opinion on how opinionated podcasters disable opinions and reviews of there comments i would ask a MOD to lock this thread.

I guess you could say it's more 40k related now. Both don't allow commenting on their videos!

Hey guys,
Maybe im just a techno idiot, but I would like to make some sort of podcast for 40k fans that focuses on the Rules and Gameplay.
Can anyone point me to a related website for dummys that could kinda give me a "foot in the door" as to broadcasting on the Web?

I am going to disagree with you.
I really enjoyed the last episode of 40k Radio and I found it was almost %100 about 40k, about novels, about TAU. Sure in some episodes in the past there is some stuff about kickstarters- but that is part of the community. It is a community show. I don't mind updates here and there about other things going on in the miniature wargamming world. The guys do a solid job, and I really enjoy their banter. Is it the most explicit and tactful show? No. But I don't want that, and I don't think you really do either. As someone who has been in sports radio production for part of my past I know a little about that industry. I'm from LA and out here Max and Marcellus is the big sports talk show in the afternoon- I would much rather listen to them because of their banter and whit and community (LA) understanding then something like straight Sportscenter (aka just news, which is apparently what you think you want).
I don't get what is going on with the commenting, but if you don't like it don't listen. Simple as that.

60 minutes in and no romeo and no mention of kickstarters, just the simple promo for there normal sponsors. If they stay like this i will be tempted to listen again. I just dont want to here romeo at all.

There are two species of podcast for the hobby, fanmade and driven from love of gaming and businessmade and driven from advertising and ratings. Whilst it's a small scale, it's still business and finance based. If 40k radio, which is used to promote and is business based, fails to attract visitors and drive sales, then it will die off.
The market will decide, if it continues to lose ratings such as yourself via lack of content, then it will be superseded by more qualitative podcasts.

It has more to do with Romeo in regard to how Battlefoam handles competition.
Suits, C&Ds, physical threats.... Google Battlefoam, Sabol or Outrider, and lawsuit for more info - several threads here on Dakka as well.
Nothing to do with the podcasts, nor to do with the Battlefoam products. Just... Romeo occasionally popping a gasket. At the same time, you find a fair number of posts that otherwise Romeo is a pretty good guy. Sometimes even by the same folks that have had to deal when he goes off of the rails.
The Auld Grump
*EDIT* Just to be obvious - I have nothing against his podcast. I have not listened to it, but I have been drifting away from 40K for a few years now. My only experiences with Battlefoam cases has been positive.

He said some stuff he shouldn't have, about some people on the Infinity forum who were overly critical of his stuff. Many toys were thrown from prams.
He's also tried to start a form of legal action against the Blood of Kittens website, I think again for similar reasons.
So, yes definitely one of the characters in the industry.

There is honestly nothing wrong with him. It is the way in which his perception of himself and his ... products and his attitude. From listening to it now, the podcast has come leaps and bounds from the locker room halfhearted nod, nod, wink, wink of the highschool antics that peeved off a heck of a lot of us. If you can find some of the earlier ones, like the first ten or so, then listen to the new ones, He has seemed to take some of the issues and worked on them.
I don't own any of the boxes, BTW. Listened to the fart joke attitude of the first couple of shows and fired and forgot they existed. Then just listened to the new one.
Much better without the jackassery.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. TBH i have a one battlefoam tray i got at a discount from FRPGames. It is a great great piece. 100% solid and secure. Its a great product. I would buy more if the warstore wasn't 40 miles from me and they have a great discount on Sabol stuff.
That being said for the past year the podcast has been turning into more about kickstarters not related to 40k and Romeo bitching about things. He obviously doesn't like games workshop and thats fine but let Kyle and the other guy do the podcast 100%. They love the game. They love the company. When those two start talking about 40k stuff its great.
I listened to last episode and no romeo. He must know people are tuning out. What is stupid is that the episode was pretty good and on point so why disable the comments. Let people comment and they would have got a on of "this is a much better podcast than the last one".
Companies get so scared about how the public perceives them that they just shut down everything. That in turns gets people even more distrusting of them. Especially when that company has the ability to put together real quality stuff.

Nothing is wrong with Romeo. Some people like him, some people don't. I've recently come to know that some people don't like me. Me? Imagine that? I've listened to all of the 40k Radio programs since Romeo has taken it over. I enjoy listening to Kyle, Romeo, and Rik's banter while I paint.
I'll miss Romeo on the show, but understand he's pretty busy.
As for the no comment thing on the 40k Radio website, that's brand new. You can see that this is the first one with it turned off.
I don't speak for them, but after they started getting spammed from "fans of BoK", they turned off the comments. There are a lot of comments that were attacks or blatant advertizements for people's Blogs that were taken down from last week's podcast. I don't blame them, honestly. If you have feedback, email them or post on 40k related forums. I'll keep listening, though.

When Popehat linked to the podcast from their article about Romeo's C&D the trackback appeared in the 40k radio comment feed. It was soon deleted. I imagine that may have contributed to this.
