yeah,
We played a second game.
I didn't take as many photos to do a proper report :( but the short story is the Cult of Dirt bottled it after 3 guys went down.
Another win for Ian's Girls.
After the game my gangs luck changed in town and found and bought a power sword! huzzah!

We're going for Living Rulebook, since everyone can download it - we had a few frustrations when we found that there are actually a fair few changes between that and Panic's hard copy of Underhive, but it seems sensible to go with the most accessible version - http://www.yakromunda.com/Necromunda-LRB.pdf
Hmmm..... that sounds pretty Delaquey to me....??

Yep, Delaques it is.
They're taking a trip to the strip bar tonight but will be making an appearance soon.
Is the LRB you link to the same as th community edition that I have seen mentioned on Yakromunda?

Fantastic. No, the LRB and the Necromunda Community Edition are different things. Both are downloadable from the Yakromunda library page, though.
The LRB is the last set of GW rules, and all the official supplements work with them. The NCE is supposed to play smoother but there are quite a lot of changes (skills etc) which mean that some of the extant Outlanders gangs won't work any more without a load of house ruling. So you end up playing some gangs by entirely house rules - some gangs have two or three existing lists, all compatible with NCE but written by different people.
Generally, I thought it less confusing to stick with LRB across the board for now!

Furry muff.
I noticed from the picts Panic put up there was scant ground cover. I have loads of those triangular resin blocks from FW kits and almost unlimited supplies of Hirst arts blocks and left over sprue to make up rubble and barricades and general hive detritus if that would be of interest?
Like 40k I think Necromunda plays better with more cover,

This is looking good and moving very quickly - impressive! Maybe have a game on Panic's awesome Dungeonbowl board - tunnel games are often great fun.
The Community Edition is a lot better than the alternatives and is pretty much completely compatible with outlander gangs. But the problem is that the outlander gang rules are basically all completely broken - hence the need for all the house rules! You run a risk letting anyone use the v1 scavvies or redemptionist rules for example, I'd pretty much recommend using Anthony Case's house rules in every instance - they are like professional house rules this avoids the risk of someone trying to use seriously broken house rules like say, Orks in Da Ive.
It can get a bit confusing if you introduce a whole bunch of extra house rules/supplements - but it's better than putting up with some very broken old rules that you will find you have to house rule anyway I'd say.
E: Ah I just realised you did the compendium of LRB extra rules on Yakro. That is a great idea and great presentation. The thing is, I would say that a lot of the rules in there are obsolete - or at least replaced by superior versions. For example 'Stay, there's a good boy' is not as good as 'Attack Pets' by Anthony Case. I think most of the outlaw gang rules have had superior versions released. Quite a lot of the actual Outlander rules are broken - for example Caravan Raid and the rules for bounties - these two things make income go crazy and can ruin a campaign in one game. This is clearly a tricky thing to fix though! I think there was a new caravan raid scenario by Arbitor General that should fix some of those problems at least. Necromunda could really use a second book developed to the same extent as the CE, it is a mess of out of date rules and terrible house rules out there!

It's pretty easy to switch between the rule sets, you don't really need to restart - you might need to update a few costs and skills but that's it. I agree that it is a nightmare if people start digging up their own rules to use, especially as inevitably someone will want to use something terrible like Orks in Da 'Ive. But you will get worse problems trying to use the original Pit Slave, Scavvie and Enforcer rules (to say nothing of Redemptionists and Ratskins). It is hard to know which rule set is best, but I've played a lot of games using Anthony Case's Pit Slave rules (which are much more fun than the original rules as they get rid of the servitor who always felt very out of place) and PDH's scavvy rules (which are similar to AC's rules and are just more balanced all around than the original Scavvy rules). I don't have any suggestions for Enforcers as we don't use them, the original rules make them more of GM gang, they don't really work well in campaigns. There are these rules: http://www.yakromunda.com/forums/index.php?topic=1099.0 but I haven't tried them.
It is certainly a mess trying to figure out what the best house rules are, my group made a dropbox folder with all our preferred house rule documents in it - I'd be happy to invite you to it if you want to take a look?
E: just seen all the discussion with AC over on Yakro so I will stop clogging up your thread and go over there.

Hoorah for more Necro!
All three gangs look great. I like the use of alternate minis for the Eschers (making me want to buy a gang box and booster before they go out of style...) Big fan of the dirty oil-paint style too.
Also like the Cawdor gang - not a fan of the original ones, so these ones are a big improvement. Question: those bases you painted out with the white-ish tile and green goop... they're for this gang? Either way... they look fantastic.

THE SERPENTS EMBRACE House Delaque, favoured of House Helmawr, eyes of the Lord Commander and all round nice trustworthy guys. I'm planning to run a pretty much unconverted gang of sneaky Delaques, so look away now if you are seeking impressive conversions and themes. No real progress but I thought it would be fun to post up some snaps of my old gang that I dug out of the loft this week. They we painted some 18 years ago by a then 18yo notprop. Not the greatest paint jobs and I clearly wasn't that bothered about basing but I am sort of proud of them and can't yet bring myself to strip them. They're ever so shiney - it looks to be my first foray into varnish, gloss varnish at that! The Old gang Gangers/Heavy Juves The half-dones The queue for the strippers! There's already a dozen or so gangers in the Dettol so I can see this being a big gang! More to come...spraying and painting begins at the weekend!

Yeah,
All thats needed is the gang name. Although You can go ahead and fill out your starting gang when ever you want, now or later. And make as many changes as you like before you get started.
I think arbitorIan needs to find your gang name and send you an invite to smog city!
You can make change whenever you want to your gang members as its basically a digital gang sheet that you and the other campaign members can view. Honor system applies
Once you get the invite you can check out ArbitorIans WasteLadies and my Cultists. Fifties gang is also there but it's his old gang and I think needs reseting.
Any other Londoners fancy joining in?
5 gangs so far now that Notprops sneekies and Sharazads smellies are in production!

It's all to do with version. There's basically three existent versions of Necromunda.
ORB (Original Rule Book) - The original books from Necromunda boxed game along with the Outlanders supplement and old Journal, WD and Gang War Magazine expansions. Most of these expansions are downloadable from Yakromunda.com as individual articles - I'll be assembling them into a Compilation pdf in the next few weeks. It's a pretty solid ruleset but quite hard to find nowadays.
LRB (Living Rule Book) - This is the 'official' GW download from their site, based on the Necromunda: Underhive book. It's all in one book and features quite a few changes from the ORB, including House Weapon Lists. Expansions for this were released in the Necromunda Magazine, Fanatic Magazine, and Fanatic Online, and were then made available on the GW site. They are downloadable from Yakromunda.com. However, I've already assembled all of these into Necromunda: Compilation II linked in the OP. It's got a few holes as a ruleset, and the Outlander gang expansions are quite badly balanced, but it's the last 'official' set of rules, and everyone has access to it.
NCE (Necromunda Community Edition) - This is an updated and community-moderated version of the rules over on Yakromunda. It's generally considered the best ruleset, but is constantly being updated - the last edition was only a few months ago. There are currently no 'official' Outlander gang rules, though a NCE version of Outlanders is in-progress. You can generally use any of the LRB rules with it, but you might need to house rule some bits for compatibility. Also, because some of the LRB Outlander gangs were considered badly balanced, fans have made their own NCE versions of the lists. So there are a couple of different Redemption/Scavvy lists floating around out there.
We went for LRB because it's a 'for fun' campaign, and it just seemed that everyone already had the rules - if you download the two pdfs in the OP you have pretty much everything. However, if you want the most current and balanced set of rules it's probably worth either picking your favourite combination of fan rules for the NCE or waiting until the NCE Outlanders pdf is released. Of course, if you're only playing house gangs, basic scenarios, etc, then the choice is easier as you only need the one rulebook in any case!

I'm all registered on the SMOG TOWN campaign now and in a fit of impetuousness started messing about with it and spammed in a quick gang. Can this be changed or is it set now that it is on the campaign listing? Also I nearly passed out from Dettol fumes last night but there is now a whole raft of bare metal Delaques kicking about here and Panic has proved that overnight delivery is possible in this country by sending me some boss new Waterworks bases. All being good I should have something progressed over the forthcoming long weekend.

Yup, you can change the gang as much as you like, even once the campaign is going. Once you're happy with the gang, remember to put your remaining credits in the stash box at the bottom. Generate territories when you play your first game...

Sharazad has put together the zombies and ghouls, plus she just recieved the new style Scavvies in the post. update! ++ The Cult of Dirt ++ I've picked up a 3 random cawdor blister from GW direct - I got 1 auto gun and 1 shotgun ganger and a nifty Juve.. Beautiful models, these guys will be painted if/when the gang needs them! aaaaaand I'm pretty much done with these guys! I got a power sword at the end of the last game, but I'm not converting that until I'm sure the campaign isn't going to get rebooted! Panic...

Out of interest where are you guys playing? I've currently got a five gang campaign going on up north in Stoke Newington but we struggle to get more than one game going at a time in my pokey flat!
