Hey everyone,

I saw a game released today on Steam called Reus, its a game where you play god and create a world where humans live. You have to provide for them, and take from them, but you cannot control what they do. I think it looks like it'll be good fun.

So, will anyone be getting it, or what do you all think of it?

Black and White was actually a really fun game, but I only played the first one and never got into it enough to beat it. You were a god, could shape the earth, and your power was determined by the influence people bestowed upon you in the form of worship or prayer. You in turn influenced them by making their crops grow, heal them, or performing some other benevolent miracle if you wanted to stay in the good alignment. Otherwise, you did just about everything possible to get into the bad alignment (mass murder, volcanoes, lightning, destruction of other gods, cities, ect.)

Having a giant pet though was kinda weird... I think they could have done without that part imo.

This game at least looks interesting. The late game certainly would interest me.

Bought it for 9 bucks and I'm looking at the achievements....

They alone look fantastic.... Fascism is one, so is Questionable Ethics.... Nuclear Energy, Mass Production... and Utopia...looks like a whole lot of fun.

Looks good for the price!

Just be careful where you put those mountains. Just destroyed my entire village.

How long is a game like for those who've played it?

Between 30 and 180 minutes to infinite, depending on your settings.

I like the game, although I feel it can get a bit hectic if one aim at unlocking stuff

It definitely gets hectic if you want to run more than one village at once.

Seems original. Not like anybody's trod this route before...

This seems nearly identical to Black and White in concept. I enjoyed the game a fair bit, but often it didn't work all that well or was far too finicky and difficult to understand. I spent hours trying to rescue those drowning guys, but the AI was, suffice to say, not all that fantastic. Admittedly, I only got a limited experience because I just got stuck at some point on the second level, but although it had great ideas and a pretty good sense of humour, it just felt convoluted.

You don't have to rescue your villagers. At most, you might need to create dangerous or awe-inspiring resources to cow them in to behaving (if they get too greedy they can declare war on other villages or attempt to attack your giants).

No, it was a mission on the first level where you had to rescue villagers from the sea. It was near impossible thanks to the AI of giants.
