Sorry to be pedantic but trespass is not criminal here, it is a civil matter. There are the likes of aggravated trespass and breaking and entering which are criminal acts.

The Church is open to all, my son. Jesus loves everyone and embraces the lowest and brings forgiveness to all.

Do not put her in jail. Forgive her and offer her help against repression and suffering.

Silly and disrespectful, but then again blowing your brains out in opposition to gay marriage hardly marks the historian out as a bastion of sanity. Of the two I’d say the violent suicide was the most disrespectful act to perform on holy ground.

Just out of interest are churches in France considered public property or not? If Notre Dame is deemed public then it should be perfectly legal to protest there. Even if you protest is as crass as this one.

Is it just me or did it look like the Daily Mail tried to publish as many topless pictures of the protester as possible?

As stated above, if it was trespass were the complainant believed that harm may come to them then it is a criminal matter (such as carrying an imitation firearm). In any event the police would have had other avenues to intervene.

What they did at Notre Dame though is small time really compared some of the things they've done back in Kiev, back when the Pussy Riot trials were going on, one of their activists cut down a memorial cross with a chainsaw, apparently it was dedicated to victims of Stalinism too < You'd think as Ukrainians that would be taking it too far (even for them) after how much Stalin put their people through.

You understand that that quote is God saying 'don't arrest her, you don't get to be outraged, if I have a problem with her getting her spuds out in my house, I'll let her know'...

So, even God says no to your request for arrest. She made a statement, one of questionable taste, in a temple dedicated to the universe creator, if the universe creator doesn't like it, IT will let her know...

Also, as far as I'm aware, I think suicide is a far bigger crime with the universal creator according to Catholicism and that committing that suicide in God's house is about as insulting to the life he's given you as it comes.

IDK about France or Germany but under English law a dead person is not a human being, they are a dead person and don't have any human rights of free speech, religion, marriage, job and so on.

...imagine a pro-gay marriage activist killed himself in a church to protest against christianity oppressing homosexuality.

The next day, a right-wing activist goes to said place and holds a gun in his mouth, mocking the former, posting pictures on the internet, waving his dick around, having written "DEATH TO ALL FEGS!" over it.

I am pretty certain that most people (and media ofc) would claim to be on superior moral grounds immediately and start lighting the torches and readying the pitchforks.
