Ok, I'll say this, and leave it at that: Some people (who weren't complaining before, and very few) have been saying they haven't got there notification yet in the comments.

If you were willing to wait that long for Wave 1, don't get all whiny all of a sudden. The way shipping was set up a long time ago, we knew the process would be complicated, and intense.

I'm actually waiting for the other guys to show up again telling us that it's all going to be worth it, so shut up guys.

Holy crap , I didn't think one throw away line would cause such scrutiny. I meant the dog having a litter as something along the lines of "my dog ate it" as in reference to homework , but referencing the birth of a nephew or neice whatever it was because i thought that was a ridiculous excuse.

When I get my miniatures in 6 months time, it WILL be worth it.

This is great fun, now I can move on to wondering whether or not the required number of other people chose the same dropship location as I did, or if I'll have to wait several months until every model I selected is finished(because no f'in chance am I giving them even more money for personal wave shipping).

There is a photo on their facebook page showing several parcels all packaged up, suggesting that shipping has indeed begun for those who we fortunate enough to only pick miniatures that ended up in wave one.

Or perhaps people are getting sent empty cardboard boxes with a fortune cookie message inside.

I do hope they pack more than that per day. My (admittedly low) estimate was 30 packages a day. If that is all they do in a single day... it'll be a long time...

On the one a can see clearly, they've crossed out their own address as the 'From'...

Actually quite normal for mail coming from France, mainly because the French postal services are quite incompetent and possibly chauvinist. I had two parcels from a French bits site take super-long to reach me because their equivalent of a postal worker kept delivering the parcel back to the sender, instead of you know, the address that was printed on the envelope super-big up front.

There were no comics created in Quebec, at all. So everything we read had to come from France (since we would only learn English at 10 years old or later). Asterix, Yoko Tsuno, Spirou, Lagaffe (which is it's own critique of French youth work ethics), that's all we had.

As for shipping, if everything was to be done in September this year, like they said, I suppose Xmas would be possible. But I doubt there won't be delays. The real question becomes "Do they launch their second kickstarter just around Xmas like I think they planned to, or do they wait until this one is fully delivered?"

You didn't get American comics sold up there? That seems bizarre.

When it comes to the next Kickstarter, my personal bet would be that they start it once the first wave is delivered.

Asterix is the only comic needed on that list, it is so brilliant I refuse to read any French literature so as not to tarnish it's resonance with me. * Madame Bovary excluded.

Well, I think last time they mentioned it they were going to do all four (fantasy and sci-fi elves and sisters) in a single KS project.

The chaos and mayhem of such a project using the secret workflow would be..

Also not to derail, but I'm pretty sure Asterix is world-wide famous with comics being translated into several languages in the world, same with the plethora of animated and quite a few live actions movies (the ones where Depardieu plays a character smarter than he himself). I'm surprised by the surprise.
