Definitely not an after production mark; those are ridges in the metal. I had thought maybe they got a finger print in the putty and didn't notice. I've done that myself a few times

End of the world? No. It is at least in a spot that is easy to clean.
A little sloppy for the price? Yea, it is. Just goes to show the difficulties in doing a huge number of models all at once. Some things are going to get missed.

I can't spot it on the resin one, however.

Come on guys.. that is soooo minimal. No one except the top 5 painters will notice this after priming, 4-10 coats and varnish.

You might be underestimating the role of texture in painting. I have stripped and reprimed models because of a fuzzy prime job, because you really see it in the final result. That sort of texture definitely needs to be cleaned up if you want to have a good paint job on it.

I think it might also be someone's thumb print on the model, you know, oil from the skin, or a thumbprint in the mold release. my resin one is smooth.

Before I take the scale pics, I'll also do a quick prime and ink on the model to see if the lines will still show.

OK, picture time. Sorry for the delay, got stuck doing family stuff after I got home from work.
First up, we have a scale picture. Anrakyr, a Space Marine, and Blondie. With a ruler that has *gasp* both inches and centimeters on it! Yes, she stands taller than the Space Marine, but GW tends to sculpt many of their space marine models in a near squatting position, it seems, whereas Blondie is standing nearly straight.
Spoiler:

Second, as suggested, we throw caution to the wind and place the ruler diagonally, along with a WIP assault marine on a tall scenic base and a rocking Noise Marine for coolness.
Spoiler:

Finally, the "painted" closeup of Blondie. Just a quick brush on of Vallejo white primer with some Army Painter Dark Tone Ink. The lines are still visible, although, with the model in hand, I have to look really close with just the right light angle to see them. Whether or not additional layers of paint would completely fill them in, I do not know. Also, I have no idea why the picture is sideways. It was upright on my phone and when I edited it in MS Paint, but it uploaded to Dakka sideways. Regardless, you can still see what you're wanting to see from it. As a point of reference, on when I hold the model up to the picture on my computer screen, the model is as tall as the boot in the picture.

Exalted for effort! Thanks for going through this and posting it. Looking at the picture. The lines are limited to only that corner area. This hopefully means the figures went through a post printing clean-up and that was just a missed spot. Was not looking forward to the prospect of having to smooth down all surfaces.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Thank you Tannhauser42 that's spot-on. Looks like the heroines in the most upright poses are damn near exactly 32mm to the eyes, so given RH's stylistic choice of "leggy supermodel" it should be pretty easy to bring them down to under 32mm total height so they fit right in with more upright GW stuff, without making them look deformed.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

From Tann's last image, it definitely looks more like a fingerprint left on the master than stepping marks. Although, if they were printed laying down as speculated, it would also account for curvy stepping marks.

Either way, kind of sloppy but eh, not a big problem and maybe limited to just this one spot on this one mini.

Easy enough to paint that blemish up as a rough patch of fabric or use some filler. Interested to see how many minis have small issues like that one. Not a biggie over all and I am so far extremely pleased with overall quality. Now to wait till wave 3 ships.

So, pick up my wave one stuff earlier. Haven't had a good look through to spot any other issues. Though I can confirm that the ridges on OSB's cloak are present on the metal version I received.

Did Fulgrim Just Behead Ferrus?

Fort Worth, TX

Just did some random comparisons to other minis I had lying around on my desk. Blondie lines up perfectly with my Tartaros-pattern teminators (eyes are at the same level, and the termies are in the usual legs spread position). She stands just as tall as my Eisenkern Stormtroopers, who are also standing tall rather than in a near squatting position. You'll note in the pictures that Anrakyr is taller than she is, and he is pretty much standing straight. My Obyron model is the same, she comes up to his chin.

Busting out the tape measure, she is 32mm to the eyes. The Space Marine is 28mm to his eyes, but 32mm to the top of his head. So, GW artificially shortens their marines to 28mm scale by spreading their legs out to the edges of the base. I dug out a marine model that is standing straight (one of the old masters of the chapter, the one with the hammer), and he is 32mm to the eyes.

There's a lot of impatient people in those KS comments.

If 3/4 of the people were wave shipping of drop shipping, they'd have needed to have shipping out 68 packages a day to be done in a month. And people thought I was nuts thinking they were probably shipping only about 30 packages a day.

We'll see in a month, eh?

Has a bit more time to look at these now. Can't find any obvious defects on the few heroines I did pick. The two soul wavers look ok, though Tarja is likely going to need a little filling where her front leg joins on. The only issue I've noticed so far (out of ~40 figures) is that one of my copies of Natasha suffered from mould slip. It's not a major slip, and most of the line looks to be out of sight when gaming. The other two look to be ok, from casual inspection anyway.

It's good to hear that the final product is mostly good except for the expected nits one would find in any such product line. Hopefully things go a bit smoother for the rest of the waves.

Agreed. It does surprise me a it because, despite all their other ridiculousness, they're definitely sticklers about their quality. I imagine it'll be something that can be sanded down fairly easily.

Still glad that I didn't back because of their shenanigans, but the photos are definitely pushing me towards picking a few models up in the future.

Also, it never ceases to amaze me how much "better" some of the FW marines look than the plastic squatty ones.

Thanks, Tann!!

Yeah, but the Noise Marine is the coolest model there, Blondie included.

I have mine.... I think I am two short... need to double check they didn't fall out of the box when I checked them at work earlier (unlikely, but I want to check before I send RH a email about it) but apart from that very happy.

Almost got them all together, some will need some green stuff work on gaps, only a couple mind, and Krabbenhoff was a nightmare.. hehe, only one of the banner's that was not a solid banner attached to the carrier.

Will share some pics once done later.

Oh she's amazing.. but punky and the Kurganova banner bearers basically came as one piece body and banner, head and arm. With Vera, she had body and lower half of the banner, put the top half with the flag... in metal was a separate piece. So not impossible.. but it was a 'fun' fifteen minutes convincing it to glue. Wasn't confident enough to pin something that fragile.

That's a shame, that most definitely falls under the "cool mini, but a pain to properly assemble" category, a bit like some of those Infinity models, lovely stuff, but such a pain to stick together.
