You usually can survive without minis for a few more week just fine though.

My guess is that Manchu needs money for all those things as well and doesn't relish the thought of just throwing away his money without his say-so even if it is technically classified as disposable income.

Cozy cockpit of an Imperial Knight

From Facebook, image spoilered because nudity:

Spoiler:

Remember this (not so) little lady?

She wont be released through Hasslefree any time soon (there's about 18 months worth of releases to get through first) so I was pondering selling her myself as a limited edition.

The big question is: Kickstarter or Ebay? Which would you prefer?
All I can say is.. ouch. 18 month backlog.

I wonder if the customer production queue for paid for items is that long or if he is just referring to the from master to production mould time.

The latter, he's been happily sculpting away all the time and those sculpts have yet to be put up for sale.

Hey, if they intend to stay in business for another eighteen months, maybe they'll even get around to sending me my stuff. Wouldn't that be something?

In good news, for me anyway, I made a small order last week and it arrived within a couple of days.

Hope they get their health and everyone's orders sorted asap and get back to being the old Hasslefree - fast and reliable.

I wanted to post on their Facebook group to ask for advices on painting their models (thought those questions I had in mind might be too raunchy for Dakka lol), but it was down. Anyone knows about it? Is it okay to ask raunchy questions about raunchy miniatures if you put a NSFW tag in the title ?

Did some checking, it would indeed appear that their page has been pulled. Maybe someone with access to their newsletters knows something more? Kev hasn't commented on it yet, not that I think he will, but it may be a recent thing.

Two bits from Facebook:

Sally here:

I honestly understand how frustrating the last 18 months have been and for those who have stuck with us “Thankyou “ from Kev and I.

If it seems as if you are getting repeat requests for information from us it is because Dameon C Reynolds is overwhelmed in the unit catching up with orders and I am collating all of the issues each day and sending them to him so that he doesn’t have to waste time hunting for info through email/FB/messenger.

I can’t force you to give me repeat information however if you want me to get things resolved then please communicate with me. However please do not shout at me, do not swear at me, do not threaten me or abuse me .... I am a mum of 4 and kiddie tantrums don’t work.

Thankyou x

And from Kev:

The very first casting of my 75mm Artemis

Spoiler:

A first cast, so still rough around the edges.

They're still looking at how to best sell this model, either through their own lagging online store, or through a crowdfunding platform.

Cozy cockpit of an Imperial Knight

Been a while since I last heard anything about Hasslefree, but the following popped up on Facebook earlier today:

Sally here:

Until a few years ago HF ran like a well-oiled machine and then unpredictable circumstances literally made it stop. It was always a juggle for casting new releases versus restocks of older figures but mostly we coped.

The ‘emergency stop’ 2 years ago hit the organisation and routine very hard, before long we found ourselves struggling to keep on top of everything that needed doing. There are still a few unresolved issues from that time but mostly I am assured they are sorted.

At last it seems like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel, we have releases due soon, restocks of both minis and other resources coming through and soon we will be able to start the long-awaited ‘catch-up’ of unreleased figures that Kev has still been sculpting even through the ‘emergency stop’.

We really do appreciate the way you have supported us throughout this difficult time and thank you all so much for sticking with us.

I went to the resin casters today so decided to share a few pictures that show the scores of as yet unreleased figures that I hope will give you reassurance that we are finally (fingers crossed) getting there x

So, hopefully soon we'll be seeing a lot of catching up with long overdue metal releases. I know I've been waiting on quite a few to happen for some time now.

Lots of info in their regular email newsletter, but here's the key bit of interest.

https://www.hfminis.co.uk/

No Mail until 12th November!
Right, listen up guys and gals!

We're closing for regular mail until the above. 'No' sale orders willl go out until we're back to work on 12th November.

As always when we close for any reason and you lot have to wait for your orders there is a bonus!

May I present, the bonus....

* (unless you email us because of an emergency/bday/whatever and then we'll see what we can do. Or you are one of the people mentioned at the bottom of this newsletter).

The Big 2019 Halloween Sale!

Our biggest sale of the year!

Use the code 'HALLOWEEN2019' to get a whopping 20% discount off everything.

Input the code on the final 'confirmation' page, at the top. If you hit the payment page you went too far.

(Stop writing it in the comments box! Anyone who writes it in the comments box is getting the worst flavour sweets!).

We've also updated our system so the code can now be used multiple times by the same customer. This means if you come back for a second order within the sale it'll work again, try to make sure to mention in the second order comments box that you already ordered please!

The sale runs until November 12th.

Please remember, no mail will be posted until the sale is over, the discount is in return for the wait

Oh, and for the big spenders, as always during promotions we have...

*Actual total paid, including discount, postage, VAT etc.

Larger spends qualify for larger goody bags, no limit on goody bag size We will also theme the goody bag to the order, so if you ordered Fantasy the free mini/s wil be fantasy and so on.

We'll glad accept payment today for a hamburger Tuesday? I suppose advertising the delay is significantly better then leaving people wondering.

A 2 week delay in shipping, announced in advance because a small family business is taking a vacation and, by the way, here's a 20% off sale.

I'd say that's more than exemplary.

There's usually a delay when they're doing a sale. Still waiting on them putting out new models (i.e. metals), though it looks like it's finally kicking off at long last.

Only if it actually is only two weeks. The history gleaned from following this thread seems to imply otherwise all too frequently. I'll admit though that I have no personal experience though with ordering from them direct.

I wouldn't say frequently. There was a specific period of time in the recent past where, due to issues explained in some detail afterwards, orders were unacceptably delayed without this being communicated at the time.
To the best of my knowledge, this period is over. While I have not ordered from them recently, none of my orders over the past I don't know how many years have taken more than a couple of days to be sent from what I recall.

I've done that repeatedly since January. Every 4-8 weeks I'd even get a reply with an apology and the promise they'd look into it.

Just this week they said it was sorted out. So, did they put my order in the box and left it to rot in their warehouse? Did they send it out? Am I going to get a dispatch notification? Am I going to get tracking that I originally paid for?

Who knows?

Their communication is abysmal and their ability or willingness to fix problems is even worse.

They're probably just trying to break the previous record. I think I've even posted it in this thread, but the order I placed two years ago took 11 months to get to me. Suffice it to say I'm done with Hasslefree* as soon** as I have my current order. They had their second chance, I'm not going to do this a third time.

Yes that was part of the period when Artemis was in and out of hospital & deep in KS related problems so it's likely they don't even realise you've not got it (either because the missed it, or they shipped and the post office/customs lost it)

now they're mostly back to normal they should be able to sort it out and appologise

So I got an order about a month and a half ago, and one of the miniatures was on the invoice but not in the box. Since then, I've sent two emails and a Facebook message and not heard a peep.

Is this normal Hasslefree customer service?

Officially it's because he's had a lot of health problems.

Obviously the real reason is that 'Dameon' is a clever anagram designed to throw the space inquisition off the scent.

FWIW, I've ordered occasionally during the 'bad years' (to Australia) and never had any real dramas. I do recall at least one email I didn't get a reply to, but the actual orders showed up within a reasonable timeframe.

... I've probably just jinxed myself saying that.
