Downloaded my Iyanden codex eagerly awaiting some thing cool and was sadly disappointed.

The extra fluff and background material is nice, but, a page of rules and some alternative "Awesome Artifacts of Annihilation" (which seem a bit "Meh") for 40k, sections for Planet Strike and City Fight (does anyone actually play those rules anymore?) and 6 (I think) Iyanden specific missions........

The concept of a supplemental codex with special rules was amazing, sadly, this just does tick the boxes.

Heres hoping Anyone/Someone disagrees with me and has spotted something shiny and awesome I've missed?

A page of rules is still better then nothing compared to what they've given for "Chapter/legion/clan" lists. Also the rules for Iyanden is pretty cool.

Old chaos codex only used to have a single page for each faction, and that had everything on it, including rules and fluff.

So its enough space to make a change in the army.

Could someone give a more detailed breakdown of it? I know there are many people on here who'd be interested in how the supplemental codexes turn out.

Its pretty much what I wanted in the main codex:

The ability to take many spiritseers in an army, the ability to use ranged wraithguard in an effective manner, the ability to take Iyanna

Not sure why GW is after Iyanden. They make the players think that this is an army worth playing. But at the competitive level I'd be cautious. Why not a book about craftworlds and one page of rules for each of the popular craftworlds?

To help sell the new Wraith models I guess?

I think the idea of supplements has a lot of potential, but the price for what you get - particularly compared to the old Craftworlds or Eye of Terror rulebooks, and even the CSM Legion rules - seems really disappointing.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Because they can make a lot more money by selling 4-5 different supplements than they can with only 1.

It's time to go full Skeletor
