My girl friend want to start playing 40K so i am going to paint her a HQ and she want it Dark purple and white , any one knows a good army to give that color scheme? (tyranids is not a option XD)

Tau can pull it off well, my old Tau army had a good amount of purple on them. IG can do it too, just say they are a bodyguard unit.

For purple and white I would probably say Dark Eldar.

Does she like any faction in particular or does she not care what it is? As for purple, dark eldar are pretty much the go-to for that, it looks great on their segmented armour (and it's quite traditional)

I'm actually a fan of purple necrons. I've been doing mine blue with purple shoulder pads, but you could do them all purple. If you look at a few different colour ranges outside of GW, you can find some coloured metallics. I used Aqueous Hobby Colour to do this guy...

Also Tyranids.

I do feel purple on a model looks good next to blue, or yellow as a contrast. So you could try purple and blue as the primary colours and then yellow as a detail colour. For some reason I've always found all-purple models to be lacking, even though I like purple as a colour, you have to compliment it well otherwise it looks a bit, I dunno, strange.

Tau. All about the greater good, and badass robots look good in any colour.

I second the necrons, mine are mostly gold and matte purple, works really well on things like destroyers.

She is kind of girly and this is a suppries , i where thinking of making her a eldar or sm army because they will fit the best and i dont think she like cold blooded murder machines XD

Also, SM models are much thicker, as someone who has moved from SM to Necrons, the necrons are quite flimsy and probably not to good for a beginner. There are a lot more conversion opportunities. I guess a different color of rim for soul drinkers, a la Ultramarine colors if she reaaaly wants purple and white http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ultramarines#Companies

Space Marines have got either Soul Drinkers, Hawk Lords or pre-Heresy Emperor's Children already in purple or you could make up your own chapter (its what I did)

Guard can do purple quite easily too (again, its what I have done with my guys)

My crons are Bone white and purple with bronze accents. I think it works well.

I would of thought Dark Eldar (dark purple) or Eldar (lighter purple). Although you can paint anything with purple really (traitor guard, orks, sisters), it's an awesome colour.

I'd like to suggest sneaky, sneaky orks.
I've met very few female 40k players, but strangely everyone I've met dig the orks. Their goofy charm, easy learning curve and creative modeling are very attractive.

Sisters of Battle and Eldar are ideal, but also have a steep learning curve.

I only pick them because that's the first painting venture I went on, below are some of the first models i painted and some of the more recent ones for your consideration, enjoy!

id have to agree with either Soul drinkers or Eldar. Soul drinkers have an INCREDIBLE storyline as well as being in the PERFECT colors for your request.

id say eldar because they are more delicate and "flowing" in their design. much more feminine, plus they look great in purple and white.

I did my Dark Angels in a purple scheme... mostly because I have already done the green version as a youngster and wanted something different.
Replaced all the green parts of their standard scheme with purple, and the red parts with yellow. I use a colour wheel to get those choices, red contrasts green the same way that yellow contrasts purple on the wheel
Terminators are bone white, with purple robes and icons, yellow weapons.
Ravenwing have black vehicles but purple power armour and yellow weapon casings.

Seriously, though, they do look good and the painting is top notch. I am all for people doing whatever they want with the look of their army, it is their army after all!

OT, I think purple suits eldar, dark eldar, slaanesh (csm or daemons) and tyranids best. Although I did once have a Tau army that was painted purple, bone and black that I thought looked pretty wicked.
