Alright, I am new to infinity so I am slowly going to learn the game (not going to be my main one, but I am going to try to update it when I get something new for it). But onto the modelling and painting portion of it. So I decided to do a unboxing of everything (well in the loosest term, I still have some of the stuff in the plastic). I have to say the models are posed very dynamically and the models looks wonderful. Downside is all of it is in metal (luckily I overcame my hatred and frustration of Metal models and putting them together in I got into Warmachine/ Hordes).

Once I get done with the Fusiliers, I will post them up as an update.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in any case

Alright, so I got some work done on the Fusiliers. Three of them were one piece models so I only had to cut up the base to get it on there (kind of wish it was pre-cut or lipped, but I guess that is me being a whiner about it. Just risk that chance of accidentally breaking the base). One of them was multi-piece, but not bad to deal with in my opinion.

Doubly so for me. I haven't seen that much PanO around dakka.

Have you decided on a theme yet?

I was thinking with something from Deus Ex or something (mostly Human Revolution), with them having a scheme like Bell-tower troops or something with Goldish-yellow with black, while keeping the theme of brightly colored stuff in that universe as well. Not solid on it yet, just an Idea.

Alright, so I finally got done with the Starter set as a whole, with the Croc man and ORC trooper. The main frustration was the small node pieces I had to mess with, but other than that, it was mostly pinning and easy assembly for it. Sadly it rained out, so I cannot prime them yet, and I still need to get the paints that I need from them.

Alright, apologies first off. I had 4th of July week at my work (An American holiday if you do not know) so I was busy with that for the whole week. Luckily I managed to get in some painting for my PanO, and managed to finished the ORC trooper. Also I apologize for the bad quality, my basement I usually paint in is going through a bit of renovation so I cannot really use my studio of sorts for now.

Might I suggest a wash on the red to bring out some of the details?

I think that might be a good idea. I used P3 armor wash on the red once, but I did not like the results of that. Might try Citadel wash Nuln Oil to see how that fares wit that.

I find Nuln Oil pretty good. Generally what I do is wash then go back over with the original colour on the raised edges, shading and highlighting in two easy steps Maybe paint the main body a lighter grey, then use Nuln Oil, then pick out the raised edges with the lighter grey again. I cant really tell from your picture as the shadowed side of the model ius facing the camers

Maybe you should take pictures with the light source behind you, or at least coming in at a sharper angle, this should avoid the details being in the shadow

Yet another Infinity blog I shouldn't follow because it just makes me want to go buy and paint some miniatures... they all look so good.

Kudos for the idea of using a Deux Ex based theme. I hate those mercs with a passion since they were bloodthirsty scumbags but their color scheme is fantastic and will look amazing on those PanOceania models!

While I was skeptical of the scheme at first, I think it looks good.

I third the motion for the wash. For me, it goes:

Medium Colors ---> Wash Dark ---> Light colors.

But, since it's black, I'd try a lighter wash, and then just go back over the stuff you want to stay dark.

Keep it up.

Alright, so I managed to get done my first Fusilier and redo my ORC Trooper a little bit (I decided to drybrush P3 Ironhull grey on the black parts of the armor to make stand out a little bit more and have a bit of a reflection and shine effect to it). As again, I am sorry for the quality of the pictures, but this is the best I am trying to work with on my Android phone's camera, and my actual camera I have (that is I share with the family) is much worse than this. If anyone could give me tips how to make it work much better with an Android phone camera, I would appreciate that..

It's a bit grainy, but I'd say the drybrushing helped. It really stands out on the brown you've got going in and gives sort of a dirtly look, they they're on mars or something. I don't know if that's the intention, but it looks cool.

Good start, as you say, better pictures would be helpful though. I use my phone for pictures and have figured out how to get the best results now, it might be transferable, what type of phone do you have?

Alright, another Fusilier now done. Debating if I want to take a break from my PanO a bit so I can catch up on some of my backlog of Menoth I need to paint and still have some PanO to paint until I get something Infinity related with my next paycheck.

Nice work, Tan. The blue hair is a nice addition.

I use a HTCOnex but you might be able to copy the techniques and get a good effect. The main problem I've had is filling the frame, I've resigned myself that better pictures means the model has to be further away and not zoomed in much.

I take off the widescreen format, set to HDR, turn the flash off, get in a position to catch some natural daylight and some defused internal light, and take the picture from about 15cm+ away. At most I'll go to 30% along the zoom bar but any further loses a load of quality. I've found this setup gets me the best focus and quality but the miniature ends up quite small on the screen. Hope that helps in some way but YMMV.

Also I suggest you only paint the front half of the base edge red. This can represent their LoS and facing marks which are actually pretty essential in the game

So I am guessing they have a 180 degree arc of view of something like in Warmachine/ Hordes or something different (I read all the rules a couple of times, so I am still trying to get the hang of it. )

Alright so I have another model painted up. Croc man is finally finished, so that only leaves me with two Fusiliers before I get my Trauma Doc that I ordered shipped to my house. Sorry for not much of a big update.

Nice work, I think the colours could use breaking up though, they are a little flat right now.

I think that might be on the ball, but then again, since I am using an android phone to do it, it is not going to do it any justice a little.

Well Thank you medusa! ^_^

Now for some more things I got done, and got the Trauma Doc built as well (with the help of Green stuff because the contact points and parts were too small to really use pinning effectively ). And with the Fusiliers done I am actually finished with the Starter box now! Now I wonder where my P&M adventures into Infinity takes me now.
