Had time to take a quick photo of my painted army so far. Still have loads of stuff to paint, but had to take a picture with all the models in the same photo to give a better idea of them all on the table at once. The theme carries nicely over the whole army IMO.

The dragons at the back are a bit blurry as my camera insisted that it will not focus correctly to capture all the models sharply

Just finished my first unit using a new basing method for me. It came out pretty well IMO.

Also just finished some Ellyrian Reavers today:

Finished my "Daenerys" model also:

And here is a group photo of the completed army so far:

Just finished my proxy flamespyre phoenix model. Surprise, it's a three headed dragon like the sigil of house Targaryen

Got my lothern seaguard models finally based. They have been waiting for their bases for a few weeks now

Also finished my Great eagle proxy models (the three baby dragons of Daenerys ) some time ago, but have forgot to upload the pics of them.

Nice freehand on the banner, I recognized the symbol immediately. The color and styel of the bases do a nice job of contrasting the models, it's tough sometimes to make them stand out when they're in formation like that but you really did an excellent job.

I really really like the colour scheme and execution. Personally, and its just me, I think the edges of those bases would look better if they weren't black but a similar colour to the basing itself. Again, just my opinion on an otherwise great looking job.

I will proppably do one from a dark elf dragon at some point. I will be doing the baby dragons out from warmaster chaos dragons and use them as great eagle proxies. Also i will be doing a three headed dragon out of a war hydra and use it as a flamespire phoenix proxy.

Cool - I have the Darksword - Dany with baby Dragons which is pretty nice.

I like the idea of the 3 headed Dragon - very fitting.

What was your paint recipe?

It looks like you used strongtone or maybe darktone quickshade. but what colors did you paint everything before you put the magic can on?

You mean on the army or on the dragon? I painted the models up first and then used agrax earthshade on the models to give them a dirty look and add some dimension onto the paintjob. The threeheaded dragon was just drybrushed with different reds and oranges to yellow over a black undercoat, then given a treatment with a red glaze.

On the main army.

It looks like a base coat then washed in the Earthshade. Was just trying to figure out what colors you used on everything so I could steel it!

I rather like the more dark and sinister look on HE's. I have only ever seen bright and "good guy" looking elves. And yet I am not a fan of DE... go figure.

Everything was undercoated black, then the armor was drybrushed with chainmail (dunno what it's called now) then bronze was just drybrushed dwarf bronze. Red parts were painted khorne red, then highlighted with evil suns scarlet. White cloaks were done first with ushabti bone, then highlighted with white scar. Arrows and feathers were painted with russ grey and highlighted with white scar. Flesh was painted with basic flesh tones. Everything was then washed with agrax earthshade to tie the colors together and make them look like they had been strolling the desert for months. Dirty elves i like to call em
