I hope the mods don't mind me posting this here (I didn't really think they are a 'rival' to Dakka, being more of a blogging/news site than discussion forum).
For anyone thinking of getting into Infinity, for new players (or old-hands for that matter!) this special 'Infinity week' on Beasts of War will be a great option for finding out new information about the game.
http://www.beastsofwar.com/
Loads of interviews with the game creators and their thoughts behind it's design, close looks at the miniature range, competitions/exclusive announcements and (hopefully!) a miniature sale at some point during the week.
I know people love to stick the boot in with BoW at times (and they do paint themselves as a target on occasion) but one thing you can't doubt is their level of enthusiasm for wargaming - almost infectious at times, and it's great that they appreciate Infinity for the great game that it is !
Well worth checking out in any case!

No problem posting that here at all!
All the forums are, for the most part, on friendly terms, and anything that helps grow the INFINITY community is a welcome thing!
And the latest updates are in the INFINITY News and Rumors thread as well!

I'm not completely sold on BoW tbh but their Infinity stuff is def worth checking out.
I think being officially connected to CB really helps and i would recommend looking them up and trying Infinity (recently discovered it myself) because it's all really great.

I'll be checking this out for sure, it was pretty good last time they did it and I'm hearing good reports on this one. Sadly it's the only product of theirs I can stomach though, I kind of wish someone else was doing it if I'm honest but I'll maybe give them another try soon.

Casey - definitely give them another try. The staff have changed around a bit (and Warren, the main presenter, has calmed down!), and the format and in general professionalism of the videos has improved a great deal.
I was in the same boat a few years ago and didn't really enjoy their videos, but they've improved a lot (while retaining their enthusiasm).

I'm a bit out of the loop on the BoW hate I guess. I use to follow them WAY LONG AGO back when they were only on youtube and only had a handful of videos up. During this time they were pretty cool and even when the website got up and running it was still great stuff, especially enjoyed the history bits from grr i forgot his name now. The guy that did FoW stuff and started that side project fixing up a tank irl? Anyways they did the Beast of Waaaaaggh week think and me and my bro entered and ended up winning an arachnorok kit! was great fun. Some time after that I kinda ended up in a slump and out of doing wargaming and much of any entertainment for that matter for awhile and kinda stopped checking in on them. What happened since then that gets them so much flak ?

I think it's because of their overenthusiastic way of doing stuff that I don't watch them much.
I've never been one for the frothing gibberer. Yes, I can almost understand why they do it - but I've never really understood the need to go at it full speed.
It's like the fundamental differences between Americans and Aussies.
US: Don't hide your light under a bushel. Shine bright and proud and allow people to see your brilliance.
Aus: Pull your head in. You aren't special, you aren't different. We care more about the quiet achievers. The little guys.
Also, it's the accents. Carlos is easy to understand - for me - but those other guys just have accents that give me the irrits.
Many brit accents do that though - whether they be Welsh, or Yorkies or Brummies, Scousers, Chavs or Scots.
About the only Scot who doesn't give me the irrits is Billy Connolly. But he takes the piss out of his own accent so often, it's hard to tell when he isn't.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Ah...OK...
I can't agree with much up there, but... I can certainly appreciate BoW doing their part to help INFINITY grow.
