I need some help from the dakka community. What is the absolute cheesiest, nastiest, make your friends hate you, unit of grey knight paladins that you can come up with. No limit on points, but it has to be codex legal.
It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.
Some Tomb World in some galaxy by that one thing in that one place (or Minnesota for nosy people)

Any number of cheese gray knight list with Necron flying cheese as allies.
OP: can Gray knight be cheese in 6th? I haven't heard anything on it so far. I know draigo list isn't scary anymore, at least not for
IG, Tau, Eldar, SW. Heck even Nids has a good chance fighting them.

This thread seems to be an edition late. I'm not sure if there is a Paladin unit build I would classify as cheesy.

Wow, you mean to tell me that tricked out paladins are as scary as kittens now??? What the heck man!!! LOL
Ok, but IF you were going to make an all out, no points limit, beat face unit of paladins, what would it be?

Obviously not too many people paying attention... the OP is specifically asking about *PALADINS*, not what's cheesiest out of everything.

Well...only way I can think of to increase the scariness of your standard Paladin-cheese unit is to add another nigh-on-invincible-beatstick besides Draigo. That way you have two models that can tank wounds for the unit, and you can also guard against faster units looking to outmanoeuvre the unit and bypass Draigo being nearest to allocate to.
Specifically, I'm thinking of Lysander thanks to having Eternal Warrior, but if I remember rightly Calgar has too (though he doesn't have the 3++).
Trouble is, by the time you've added two characters to already-tricked-out Paladins you're looking at a unit that is *well* over 800 points and moving about on foot. If you're seriously seeking advice on how to take them, my advice is - try not to overcheese them. Keep them relatively small (though do give them an Apothecary) and leave yourself points to take other units to back them up properly.

GK and C:SM are not battle brothers.
There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

The siege regiment list has been able to do this since 2006...I keep wondering why this is suddenly so shocking
That said, Heldrakes in general seem to honk people off, as do Vendettas.
IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights! The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
I had to adopt the "Troll-Stance" to be able to play and enjoy 40k because of this.
I now savor the bitter tears of my opponents, rejoice in their hate, laugh at their rage. It was the only way to get past the constant "Whining" how everything the Necrons have is

Best thing nowadays is to likely include a 2+ save character w/Rad + Psycho grenades as it makes assaulting the unit completely pointless, even with another Deathstar unit/beatstick character due to the 66% chance for the psychos screw them over.
Then add-in a bunch of levels of Divination to try and ensure you get Forewarning to bump your termies' invulns up to 4++ base. (which of course then become 3++ in assaults w/swords)

This kind of group needs everything the paladins can muster. If you forget the apothecary they're gonna be screwed.
The problem is with the huge points cost for one unit. Easily countered by shooting them out with your cheapest mass produced weapon. How many firewarriors do you think a Tau can bring at the same cost to just shoot them until they roll ones?

I don't have the codex with me, can paladins take storm shields? If so, then they would not be so vunarable to being shot.

And regarding paladins, I love seeing them, as my Exorcists eat paladin squads for a light snack. D6 S8 AP1 shots are great for instagibbing pally squads.

Not terribly frightening to monster mash, flying circus, or tank rush lists. Except for the thought of having to roll all those dice.

I'm not trying to come off as a jerk, but c'mon guys, I've gotten 15 responces about the original question and not a single one of them actually answers it. I've gotten reasons not to field paladins, I've gotten suggestions from other codices (really???), but no one has provided a beat face, cheesy, paladin death star list. Aren't there any passionate GK players out there that use paladins in their army???

I'd try maxing out on hammers and having some swords and halberds to absorb assaults from cheap fodder. The hammers are extremely good for instantly killing monstrous creatures as anything but the wraithlord/knight (and the tomb stalker) is wounded on a two or better and dies instantly, and bashing in other terminators. The Apothecary is an autotake, no questions about that. Now whether you want psycannons or incinerators depends on whether you want to be shooting or bashing more, the Incinerators make for excellent counter assault, while the psycannons still provide some of the best dakka in the entire game.

I'd just take 10, take Apoth, four psycannons, banner, psybolt ammo, warding stave, 3x hammer, rest halberds.
If you're looking at no points cost, cheesy, the only real questions are whether to take the banner and warding stave, and what mix of CC to include. In short, there's not a whole lot of variance in those parameters since there are a lot of auto-include upgrades.

And add into that unit a Lv3 Libby w/Divination for Prescience + (hope for) Forewarning & a Techmarine w/Rad+Psycho 'nades to make any combat into a 66% auto-win. (ie: psychos will very quickly leave you with 0 friends as they're quite broken!)
If you can make it into the middle of the table, you'll dominate as most armies will have trouble removing that many 2+ wounds before you get to a point where you can engage whatever you feel is the biggest threat.
Back it up with some shunting shenanigans from Interceptors and Dreadknights and a couple solo Pallys for backfield objective holding.

Well a Warlord Titan costs more to field than some regular 40k armies, but one of them can dominate an entire game.

There isn't one, that's why. Just take everything and that's as good as it gets. And that's hugely expensive, so it's not worth it.
There is no "ally in this or that beatstick to join them" since GK are battlebrothers with no one.
Paladin deathstars were FOTM at the end of 5th, but now if you want cheese, you need to get croissants in on that.
Try something like the attached list. Put coteaz, Draigo, and the tech in with the paladins and get them to center board. Grand strategy goes on the 2 dreadknights to get some scoring units. Coteaz rolls on divination and trades one of the less useful powers for prescience. The nice thing about this unit is DS melta is not an issue with coteaz as if they deepstrike near you they die.
The reason you are not really getting much posts is the heyday for this sort of thing is over. The list below seems scary until you realize that it falls apart to many of the Tau and necron builds that are floating around out there. The Paladin unit is scary but at the cost of being the entire list. It can still be fairly fun to play but mostly you now see mini deathstar paladin builds to fee up more points.
