Spotted this announcement on Facebook this morning:

Miniature Scenery wrote:It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of the amazing designer and model maker Craig Clark, aka. Mousemuffins after his battle with cancer.

Craig was been an amazing influence on a great many people across all forms of model making from sculpting and casting to painting and design, Craig knew it all and was always happy to share his knowledge and creations. Craig's catalogue of work stretches far beyond Miniature Scenery and includes things like Golden Demon trophies, Gundams, historical modelling and his new 3d printed model designs. I know he had plans for many more projects in future which made it hard to watch his illness rob him of his ability to create as his cancer progressed.

Miniature Scenery will dearly miss Craig and his amazing inventions but you have not seen the last of them. There were many more designs in the pipeline that will slowly be finished and released in due time despite the untimely demise of their creator. Craig would have wanted them released and (as soon as I figure out his scattershot file structures) they will be.

Rest in peace friend.

Oh no, that's really sad to hear.

I've built a lot of his Miniature Scenery products over the years and I think they were great, top notch stuff. I have at least a table's worth.

I also remember Mouse Muffins designed Lamenters shoulder pads back when Chapterhouse was barely a thing and 3d printing didn't really exist.

I always smiled when I saw his cat avatar/profile picture.

I didn't know him or interact with him but it's sad to lose him. He made some great stuff. A solid part of the miniature wargaming community. Rest in Peace.

The Polito form is dead, insect. Are you afraid? What is it you fear? The end of your trivial existence?
When the history of my glory is written, your species shall only be a footnote to my magnificence.

A belated R.I.P from me. Miniature Scenery are definitely some of the most creative people to have ever worked with wood while I've been in the hobby. Love their tactical response vehicle, future London bus, steel wyrm & conqueror heavy tank.

I'm amazed at what these guys can make by creative cutting of flat wood panels.

But as a product competing against 3d printing... gg.

Given that most home-printed (and a not-insignificant number of purchased-) 3D printed terrain and vehicles at the moment wind up covered in visible layer lines, a good laser cut MDF and card kit potentially gives much better looking results. Particularly since with a lot of these kits, it doesn't take a lot of extra work to wind up with something that doesn't particularly look like MDF on the table...

What parts did you use for that mint conversion? I think I see a bottlecap on the forward hatch.

Hope feeds Tzeentch, who will do horrible things to your planet to reward you for your service. Ergo, Hope is evil, and you should stop having it, but you can't have despair because then Nurgle gets a free ride. You could be angry about this, but that'd just get Khorne's jollies off. And heck you can't even get your own jollies off without Slaanesh giggling and farting out some daemons. And if you manage to avoid all that, some genestealers might infiltrate your planet and bring a hive fleet crashing down on you any way.

The hatches all use plastic parts from the Maelstrom's Edge terrain sprue. There are some unpainted pics in the thread here: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/780486.page

This was a fantastic kit to build, and even though I built it I still struggle to believe it's MDF...
