Not a bad idea. In general, there are a lot of decent high-detail kits with large pricetags, but decent inexpensive stuff is harder to find. A bare-bones version + an optional detail sheet might be a good market approach.

Recently I have been blown away by the MS ships.
My only problem: There is no way to include them into my collection. On the other hand me and quite some others are really desperate for 28mm ships for Freebooters Fate.
Would it be possible to produce alternate designs that would fit in with Freebooters?

Just got my first order and all looks pretty good, just to find some time to build them now.
And great news no bloody custom charges for a change
One question why no instructions with the kits ? I know you have them online but seemed a little strange ?

That´s the miniatures range. the minis are 28mm, but a little more on the 30mm side and a little bit less heroic scale than GW.
System allows battles on ships and the miniatures have square 25mm bases.
Here are some pictures from a FF-table with a ship:
https://www.google.de/search?q=freebooters+fate&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CEQQsARqFQoTCNrdsOTy3MYCFSKPcgodW6oHiA&biw=1920&bih=956
Basic rigging will do the job since we need to move the the miniatures around and measure distances. There are some other ships on the market but they are either way too small or are model kits with wy too much rigging.
Being able to also play within the cabins or hull would be great but is not a must.
Some use the Black Pearl from MegBlocks as a base for their FF-ships, but there are only a few on ebay left so it becomes a non-option. Also it is actually more work than building one from scratch. a slightly enlarged version of your steamer would be a good starting point for a FF-ship.
Something like this would be great:
Rigging most can do without help, but they would need anchor points for the shrouds (rigging sailors use for climbing up and down on older ships).

Don`t know to be honest.
But the hull being 30-40 cm long and 10-15 cm wide would give us enough area to move around on the ship.

Its rather fun and the models are really nice. The book is like 20 dollars i believe, and you need like 3 figures to start honestly. its a little like the old Citys of gold Mordheim expansion ( i said a little)

Hmm. Problem I'm seeing here is one of scaling. If you are going to have room enough on the boat for meaningful gameplay, It has to be kinda large. Bigger than the steamer, for example.
Now Whilst I'm VERY tempted to head down this path:
or this:
...at 1/56 th scale it would be two feet long, without bowsprit. And that's just a fifth rate frigate.
Other problem is one of final cost/price to consumer, and that of build complexity for a good result. COULD be done as a basic hull with detail additions as separate kits, I guess.

Ships don´t need to be historically accurate for FF, just playable. I have some pics attached that show what is needed and what works.
This ship is a little bit too high, but would provide enough space for FF, some ladders would be nice, but else it would work.
The Man o War from Ainsty Castings would be nice as an overall design. Sadly it is for 25mm and does work badly with FF.
http://ainstycastings.co.uk/product_info.php/cPath/63/products_id/648/osCsid/099f561bf1ff9239984d364e9a2d4b0e
As a set I would suggest basic hull and masts and the rest of the ropes and woodwork they can get from the local diy-store. Actually they could even get the masts from stores.

On the pirate ship thing.. 109 feet is the quickest length I found for an actual pirate ship.
109' = 3322.32cm /56 = 59.32cm at 1/56 or 23.35"
So for a ship like
http://pirates.wikia.com/wiki/Sunset_%28ship%29
Scaled to approximately 28mm it would need to be about 2' long.
I want to do something like this, having an awesome kit to go off of would be nice.
Those hovercraft are really neat btw. Do you have a US distributor yet?

The console design is pretty cool, you can constantly find great ways to add depth to flat faces. The pull switch is a nifty idea too.
I'd recommend two things though:
1. I don't think your cutting equipment is precise enough to do the console faces justice. I'd recommend leaving the console faces blank and providing a printable PDF of the buttons and screens.
2. Rather than using the MDF to make the tubes, make it a multimedia kit and add some wire or plastic hoses that could snake around the consoles.

Those consoles are seriously impressive. The lever on that one must be absolutely tiny. I imagine you had to build those entirely using tweezers.

We have thought about adding some printable screens and wotnot, which me may actually add to the instructions, but I also think they come up just fine with some paint on them. They are VERY small, and the pictures amplify everything rather unfairly.
2. Rather than using the MDF to make the tubes, make it a multimedia kit and add some wire or plastic hoses that could snake around the consoles.
We are not set up for multi-media at this stage. Dragonforge do do some very nice bendy tubes if you are that way inclined.

The bees are very neat, and as everyone else said, I have no idea what I'd do with them.
I could use them for Necron stuff, but I feel they'd lose something if they're not black and yellow/gold.
But I must say, your ideas do create quite an excited buzz around these parts.
