Many, many years ago my character in a Traveller campaign was the proud owner of the free trader Centennial Eagle...
Great stuff by Mousemuffins as always!

Are the little widgets and stuff going to be packaged separately? I feel like those would be a special part of the build unto themselves.
Come to think of it.. Are you building this in Sketch Up? It seems like as much detail as you're putting you must be going bonkers by now.

Note quite sure how many separate packages this will be yet. Probably four or five. Basic, no frills kit. Exterior panels and greeblies. Engines. Hull interior. Cockpit interior. That's five. Plus (maybe) a turret to fit where the sky-light is.

Will there be some sort of middle level between the basic kit and the fancy one? I.e. if someone only wanted the fancy exterior, or the cockpit, or the interior floor plates? ...Asking for a friend.
Also, it's been mentioned that While detailed, it's kinda small, at 22cm across. I did consider bigger, with more usable interior space, but the trouble is mostly one of cost. If I were to, for example, double the size, it would represent about eight times the material and cutting time.
Still, if this works out well, I may consider a larger version.
Also under consideration: A simplified interior set in just MDF. Won't be nearly as pretty though.

Hee hee. Took me a moment to get that one
This is a very cool and unique project. If I wasn't so poor, I'd definitely get a kit without the interior detail and convert it into a guncutter for a 40K Inquisitor and his retinue. I've always wanted to recreate Eisenhorn's ship from the novels. I'm not an interior detail guy, so it's a great idea to offer that stuff as an add-on rather than included in the kit. But I could certainly see a skirmish table with two or three of the fully detailed versions on a landing platform that a couple of Inquisimunda/Necromunda warbands fight amongst. Would be epic!
A closer match to the centennial pigeon would be cool but the one you're working on would be just fine since for SW Minis or the SWRPG, it's unlikely you'll run across an iconic ship but a smaller one that has similarities (ie from the same manufacturer) makes a lot of sense.
If you do more spaceships, you really might want to look into resin though for the reusable interiors. Oh.. hey or if the interior for this can be built so it can be removed and added to other possible kits.. I dunno, just a thought.

Resin, unfortunately, is not really our thing. yet. And we don't shift nearly enough product to warrant having resin cast in sufficient quantities to make it viable. Also, while it might make it easier to assemble, I don't think it would drop the end price much, if not make it more expensive.
Anyhoo, I think I'm about done with the passenger space. Just the front cargo door to go. Then back to the outside.
Woot scale shot.
also also:
Simplified Cockpit. I'm going to do a complete, simplified interior for wusses.
Marrak wrote: Just a small question as I look at the interior, are those the bunks that are recessed in the wall? Otherwise am I missing sleeping quarters?
Just the one rack. I figure the typical crew of two wouldn't be needing sleeping quarters as such. They'll just stay in a space motel. Or holo-bunks. or something.
