I don't follow Kickstarters, but surely this couldn't be the fastest rising one, could it?

"So, do please come along when we're promoting something new and need photos for the facebook page or to send to our regional manager, do please engage in our gaming when we're pushing something specific hard and need to get the little kiddies drifting past to want to come in an see what all the fuss is about. But otherwise, stay the feth out, you smelly, antisocial bastards, because we're scared you are going to say something that goes against our mantra of absolute devotion to the corporate motherland and we actually perceive any of you who've been gaming more than a year to be a hostile entity as you've been exposed to the internet and 'dangerous ideas'. Haha kicktraq has it trending towards 7 million. I know that's not a prediction, it's just funny to see such a large number

Not quite. Goal is $550k, not $500k. Still got $20k till we hit halfway.

I must thank everyone at Privateer Press and WhiteMoon Dreams for their amazing effort and admirable excellence, and for tolerating my own obsessive determination to see this game come to life. And to you, our community of players, I thank you for the support you have given us thus far as we continue to expand the vision and the experience of WARMACHINE and the Iron Kingdoms.*

And now, our fate is in your hands. I just hope you want to play this game as much as I do!

That's interesting, you can get 5 digital novellas (that's what they are right?) for 10 bucks. 2 bucks a book? Sounds good.

Has anyone checked out Sturgis' rules? He seems just brilliant.

Charge into infantry, make your attacks using nearly all of your focus (but not using your electroleapy blade because you want the enemies within 3" to still be alive), feat, kill off the majority of the squad that was between 2 and 6 inches away, teleport to safety with your last 2 FOC and then some of your warjacks have focus all of a sudden while you are hiding behind a wall/your jacks

If he's Llaelese, Cygnar can now run 4 battlegroups in a single caster game. If they really wanted to.

That's not the wost part alas. 4 battle groups that could very well be 2 stormwalls and a galleon!

I have high hopes for some Hordes love, perhaps! The only thing making that less likely is the mention of playable Mercs as a faction at 1.2mil or somesuch... so Hordes goals may be farther out than that :-/

If they put them in, they get my money... must be true of a lot of other people, too.

If there was a miniatures only pledge, I would be much more interested. I want all the limited edition stuff, but I don't want a copy of a game I will not play. Plus 170 dollars is just too much for 8 models (includes the dual allegiance)

I would not be surprised if the retail versions of these models are cheaper than the kickstarter sculpts. That said, I think the coin and gold cards are a wonderful way to ensure authenticity in a world filled with recasters.

I would imagine what their goal, and the successful funding of the stretch goals would mean in regards to Horde is that once the main part of the WM game is launched, with Cygnar, Khador, Cryx, and Menoth campaigns, and the Merc faction available in Multiplayer, that work in the Hordes game can begin. I don't think it'll end up even as a 1mil plus stretch goal for this campaign, but I could be surprised. Either way, if I had a Hordes faction, I'd rather see the WM game be extremely successful on it's own, so they can give the same treatment to the Hordes "expansion/addon/standalone" down the line, with limited edition sculpts and the like. Hopefully with much of the base game design already complete, and hopefully an obvious market, any Hordes venture wouldn't need 500k+ to fund.

What does the coin or card have to do with the authenticity of a model?

And who is recasting Privateer stuff. Can't say I've ever seen it.

I think because you can't recast the cards and coin the same as you can recast a limited edition model. Well maybe the coin, but the card would be a harder ask.

Wow, this thing is rocketing along. I'll have to look at getting in on it, though considering the cost of postage maybe I'll find some others to chip in to help spread that cost around.

If the coin is pre-coloured and numbered, it'll be pretty hard to recast still.

Assuming their coins are in any way similar to their league and release event prizes (which they will be, some looking very close to the old Mk I coin kits), just recasting them won't work particularly well, especially without stripping out the enamel first, then carefully enamelling the new product. And honestly, if you can do that, you're probably not making much of a profit here.
