I really think these updates could use some pictures, not necessarily of game elements, but PP has a huge library of great artwork that could accompany the posts.

It's chugging along quite nicely. But yeah, making those dice available as an add-on would likely see another burst. I'd personally pick up 1-2 dozen if they went up.

I'm a huge sucker for cool dice, and making them an add-on option would probably also see me pledge(I haven't yet, just been waiting to see what goals are unlocked and how the Kickstarter progresses.) They're great-looking dice, but having them only be available at a really high pledge level, and then only getting 4(?) dice wasn't too well thought out; I feel that as an add-on for maybe $10-$15 for 6 dice(or whatever), you'd see plenty of people snap them up. Especially if they're Kickstarter-only, and wouldn't be available afterwards in any form.

This comes out with the type of graphics shown in the presentation, could be it.

I'm a little confused on the discussion between the figures and the video game, but all in all the game is looking pretty cool so far.

Is this game a cross rpg/ tactical, or just a straight fight game? Can you take your group and walk around the Warmahordes world???

It's a turn based strat game. I don't think we've seen any of the non-battle elements like moving around a map. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a linear system of set missions interspersed with cutscenes.

How are on Earth is this a WoW killer? Sorry... mass confusion on my part, as WoW is now a dying game.... and meanwhile, this game couldn't be further removed from it in genre, etc...

Seems pretty clear to me, though I can see the overreaction on your part.

The graphics are great. The game looking like that has potential. As already said, The Infamous Masses.... Most games out there use WOW as their high end benchmark, This one has the potential to be that one.

Especially if you get to put together your own units and go around the Warmahorde world trashing out other groups and adding in more to your own.

Don't take offense, but your not answering the gist of the post here at all and worrying that I mentioned WOW.

Questions already raised on Genre, game, etc.... The KS confuses with the stretch goals and discussions of miniatures in combine with the video game.

What's to be confused?

The miniatures will be made after in-game characters is seems. They will also have versions made in the actual tabletop game (Rules are already available). The miniatures are otherwise unrelated to the game, but you can get exclusive sculpts of those miniatures only from the Kickstarter. They will have the normal sculpt available after the KS, but will not produce anymore limited miniatures.

As for the gameplay, if you are familiar with XCOM it seems like it will play like that (Although the in-between-battles part is unsure).

Its as much a WOW Killer as the tabletop game is a Football Killer.

Its not an MMO, there is not an open world. Its a tactical game, so you'll have mission maps.

Cype, did you read my post above? What part of that was the confusion on YOUR part?
To break it down Barny style doing the Gangdam-

I posted that I liked it, the graphics were tight, and then a couple of points that were genuinely questioned.
The WOW stuff was in discussion, and not to be taken literally.

Guys, if you know the Grotster ( ), you'll know this is his usual M.O. - let's all cut him some slack!

It seems as if he got hit with a serious case of the "Bright and Shiny" and rushed in without trying to figure anything out at all for himself - no big deal, right?

I didn't think there was anyway anyone could think this was a MMO - the fact that it is a turn based strategy game (with a low system requirement!) is what really go tme excited about it, but hey, different strokes and all that!

Update #12 · Jul 15, 2013 · 10 comments
With San Diego Comic Con headed at me like an oncoming freight train, I've decided it might be a good idea to reveal a few more stretch goals, just in case I can't get an update done as quickly as we cross them. (Here's hoping we keep crossing them!)

While we love secrets, we love revealing them more, and we've been keeping you in suspense long enough on a few of these. So, I've posted a new stretch goal ladder on our main Kickstarter page that reveals the levels at which we'll be able to add an amazing new single player mission pack and features, Mercenaries as a playable faction, and finally, Retribution of Scyrah as a playable faction.

If you're just getting into WARMACHINE, you should know that along with being a great game, we've been telling some great stories for the past decade as well. One of the most famous is an ongoing saga between two twin sisters, separated at a young age when Cryxian raiders abducted one so that they could exploit her power in their dark machinations. Both girls would grow up to be powerful warcasters: CAPTAIN VICTORIA HALEY would champion Cygnar in her lifelong quest for revenge against the tragedy her family suffered at the hands of the Cryxians. And her abducted sister would grow up to be the Warwitch Deneghra — a warcaster as seductive as she is formidable. Both believing the other dead, these two sisters would collide in their adulthood, steered toward a violent confrontation by manipulating forces with a sinister agenda. In this new single player mission pack, DARK SEDUCTION, you'll get to play through the harrowing reunion of Captain Haley and Deneghra and experience a piece of WARMACHINE history.

In addition to the mission pack, the same stretch goal will unlock Co-Op multiplayer mode versus AI as well as live opponents. And, crossing this goal also unlocks single player ONSLAUGHT mode, where your squad will stand against wave after crushing wave of enemies, until you stand no more!

Unlocking Mercenaries as a playable faction will introduce the infamous MAGNUS THE TRAITOR to WARMACHINE: Tactics as the first mercenary warcaster. Once the trusted champion of Cygnar's King Vinter, Magnus was exiled and branded a traitor after Vinter's much more just and righteous brother, Leto, overthrew the throne. Along with a host of tricky spells and abilities, Magnus brings with him his own retinue of warjacks: the stalwart TALON with its jack-stalling stun lance, the chainsaw-armed RENEGADE with its one-shot obliterator bomb, and the wrecking-ball-swinging MANGLER. With Magnus and his battlegroup unlocked, Mercenaries can be fielded as a squad of their own, making them a fully playable faction. But don't think this is it, there are more mercs just around the corner...

Finally, we are revealing the stretch goal for the Retribution of Scyrah. Commonly known as 'those angry elves' by WARMACHINE players, the Retribution of Scyrah introduces a ferocious new faction to WARMACHINE: Tactics. With strange arcantric technology and a unique class of warjacks known as Myrmidons, the elves of Ios seek the destruction of all human spellcasters, who they believe responsible for the extinction of their beloved gods.

That's a mountain of new content ahead of us that will all become a reality if we achieve these stretch goals. Please note that the content from these three goals will be released in the months following the launch of the core WARMACHINE: Tactics game, but by achieving these stretch goals, we'll have the budget to carry our development straight through to this content without ever slowing down. And by backing the WARMACHINE: Tactics Kickstarter, all of that content will come straight to you as a result of your $20 pledge or higher.

We are excited by the possibilities before us and cannot wait to bring all of these incredible characters, stories and game features to you in WARMACHINE: Tactics. Many thanks for your continued support and encouragement.

And if you happen to be at San Diego Comic Con this week, please come by the Privateer Press booth and say hi to the crew!

Humbly yours,
Matt Wilson

Wasn't the Khadoran journeyman in the Collossals book (mentioned by name, at the very least)?

I know I read about him commanding some new Conquests at some point. Just can't put my finger on where...

Yep, he delivered Sorscha her Conquests. Also commanded one in combat, although I don't remember if it was against a Stormwall or Asphyxious' Krakens.

So much of this sounds really great, especially the meeting of Haley and Denegra, but damned if I'm not terrified that the voice acting will be terrible.

$1.5m to get to the Retriubtion of Scyrah, which will make for a complete Warmachine game, barring the Convergence of Cyriss of course. So now we know the path ahead at least (except for the "mystery boxes" that still intrigue me ).

There's also now articles coming out about the kickstarter:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/07/12/tabletop-game-warmachine-to-storm-onto-pc-in-an-already-successful-kickstarter-campaign/

Sounds like word might get spread around about about Warmachine by this as well, might be great for attracting new players to the Table Top game

I'm really hoping they get some quality voice acting too - it's definitely worth the buy in, and it will be the first time these characters will be heard by the fan base, so it'll affect peoples impressions of them too.

I'm still hoping they'll release a compendium with all of the fluff from Mk1 collected in one book.

Thats the only thing that frustrates me about how they lay their fluff out; I really have no interest buying all the army books, but a lot of them have interlinking stories.

I wonder how many people still think this is going to be a direct port of the tabletop game.

No chance. If it had 10 times the numbers, it still wouldn't put a dent in it. The only WoW killer is WoW making poor decisions, or the fabled World of Starcraft.

What is really exciting is that it proves there's still interest in turn based strategy. Hopefully we can see a better variety of games being released, rather than yet another first person shooter.
