Hello everyone,

We just launched our second Kickstarter...

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mythosfoundry/game-gear

Our aim is to bring you high quality gaming accessories with our Game Gear line. The game tiles are perfect for all of you space battles, be it X-Wing or Battlefleet Gothic. The templates are perfect for your W40K needs, expect to see many more designs! as well as are the token sets.

Thanks!

Interesting stuff. The space tiles seem like they could definitely be pretty cool, and the tokens are always something that interest me.

The templates seem like they have a huge design flaw, however. Are they opaque, as they appear in the pictures? If so, how are you expected to see how many models you hit?

The tokens are definitely interesting though. I'm a little confused about the combo packs. If you get the Combo Pack from the Token Pack C list, which 2 vehicle tokens do you get? (Or do you get two fulls sets of them?)

Still, interesting stuff. I may pledge in for $20 for a Combo Pack, although I'll have to see how the finances shake out.

While I understand that they're described as 'high end', the pricing charged means that someone could get multiple similarly 'high end' alternatives for the space tiles (corsec engineering mats, pro-printed vinyl/pvc mats etc.). $200 for Xwing and 350+ for BFG/Firestorm etc. means you're spending more on the mat than the miniatures going on it!

Exactly this. They look very nice, but are very pricy. A 6'x4' surface, for FA, BFG, FT, etc looks like $540 (+ at least $40, maybe $80, shipping if you're outside the USA).

How scratch resistant is your acrylic? I've seen too many GF9 acrylic tokens that look like crap after a year, and that is just hitting other tokens. I can't imagine the types of gouges you'd get from xwing bases.

I had the same concerns about the opaque design of the templates when I first designed them, and I have found it much easier to use these than the clear templates. Say you have a twelve man squad hit. look over the template, two are clearly outside, so ten models hit. It's actually quicker than counting up the ones that would be under it.

As for the Combo Pack, it has two full complete vehicle token sets.

I understand that the tiles are a bit pricey, but I feel that they are definitely worth it. They look absolutely amazing on the table. I am also looking into printed mats that would be 3'x3' and 6'x4'. They would have the same style design, and be at a lower price point.

The acrylic prints are very durable. As with anything though, the better you take care of it the better shape they will be in. With that said, I haven't been the best at trying to keep my templates in the best shape. All of the ones in the pictures are actually the ones that I play with. I've used them in games at least once a week for almost a year. The templates get tossed into a box top with dice and a few loose miniatures and the tokens get put in a plastic bag all together. As you could see, there are hardly any scratches on them at all and still look fantastic.

Thanks!

Hmmm. That combo pack might definitely be worth it, then.
