Oi, fix your spelling. =P

Anyhow, at least in recent years:

1. Alpha Protocol (deal with it)

2.Fallout: New Vegas

3. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II

5. Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Those could easily be interchanged with another dozen titles, but they're just what comes to mind at the moment.

That's a good question! At the moment, it looks something like this:

1. Fallout: New Vegas
2. Skyrim
3. Dead Rising 2: Off the Record
4. Team Fortress 2
5. Dead Rising

So many others, but if I was only allowed to play 5 games for the rest of my life, I think I'd pick these.

I also enjoyed playing the sequel to Ocarina of time: Majora's mask immensely too. Some other runners up for me would be: Bioshock, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Fable: TLC.

1) Fable: Far from perfect, but great fun and so, so full of character, charm and humour. Not the best, but my favourite.

2) Half Life 2: The best shooter I have ever played. Great story, character, world and gameplay.

3) Halo: Combat Evolved: The second best shooter I have ever played with an excellent multiplayer and beaten by HL2 only because of its immersiveness.

4) Deus Ex: Human Revolution: The best game I've played since HL2. The original Deus Ex is technically better, but Human Revolution is so engaging, touching and thoughtful, I can't stay away from it.

5) Duke Nukem 3D: A classic.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Project Gotham Racing 3, Civilisation III, Worms Armageddon, Final Liberation, Fallout 3, Star Wars Battlefront and Geometry Wars are all honourable mentions (and show that I'm more than just a FPS gamer), but the above are my favourites.

Although using a decimal system, Portal is the only game I'd give a full 10/10.

I'm going to have to cheat a little bit... I can't pick individual games from my favourites, mostly because they end up being part of an overall storyarc.

1) Star Wars: Jedi Knight / Jedi Outcast
I can't tell you how many, many times I played through these two games growing up. As far as Jedi Outcast is concerned, I'd still happily play it today. Jedi Knight needs a bit of a graphics update though... However, it was my first multiplayer game I played regularly and it had such an awesome modding community.

2) The Mass Effect Trilogy. Sure, crappy ending aside, I really do see this as the greatest video game story told yet. I have Mass Effect art prints on my walls, I bought the art books and "The Suicide Mission" theme from Mass Effect 2 is quite possibly my favourite song.... Yeah, fanboy... I know.

4) Deus Ex: Surprisingly, I only played this in 2008 but still, dated graphics aside, it was such an incredibly well done story and the environments. So many story threads, so much apparent randomness that came through then it all just gelled together perfectly. I remember wandering around the New York sewers before MJ12 even turned up in the game, wondering who the frak these guys were.... Then I found out..
I'd like to add on Human Revolution as an honourable successor but truth be told, the last third of HR seemed rather half assed....

4) Arkham Asylum / Arkham City. Great Batman stories and I'm just entranced by the combat system it's just so fluid and perfect.

5) Since I figured I'd need to have an RTS on my list. It'd have to be Company of Heroes 1. A RTS that just feels like it makes sense! Proper tactics work in it and when the battlefield starts getting itself demolished, just amazing. It's a pity I really did not like the Company of Heroes 2 Beta too much at all. (and it crashed a lot)

Honourable Mentions:
If you took game time as a counter. My list would probably be something like.
1) DC Universe Online - 500 hours (2) Empire: Total War - 200 hours (3) Oblivion (180 hours) (4) Fallout 3 (160 hours) (5) Mount and Blade: Warband (145 hours)

I can imagine Skyrim will be added on soon. Truth is though, aside from DCU, which I had on while watching the telly, the others I just played until I effectively got sick of them. Usually shortly before the last big thing I needed to do. It took me 5 years on Oblivion, and 4 years of that was the last few quests on The Shivering Isles.

I can't leave without mention the real computer game I spend most of my time on. The very definition of Old School. A RP mud.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you....

1. Total War- Best RTS Series I have ever played, and that's saying a lot.
2. Mass Effect- 1 and 2 were both awesome stories with good gameplay. Haven't played 3 yet. The only non-strategy game on the list.
3. Civilization- Started my gaming. Still super fun.
4. Age of Empires- Fun, but can't compete with Total War's Battles, or Civilization's democracy
5. Starcraft- The RTS that started it all

2. System shock 2 - Science fiction immersive horror how its meant to be. Oh, and 20 foot invisible spiders.
3. Fallout 2 - Never have been a massive fan of 3 or vegas.
4. Minecraft - Just because sandbox games are epic
5. Everquest - The first FPMMO to actually go big, this spawned WOW, Guild Wars and literally thousands of imitators.

Honourable mentions
Civilisation IV. Medieval Total war. Dawn of war series (marred by DOW2). Total Annialation/Supreme commander. Command and Conquer series (marred by CNC 4 and 3)

I imagine it goes something like this (not in order)

Age of Empires 2 - Never gets old.
Red Dead Redemption - I feel incredibly badass playing it.
Final Fantasy 8 - I absolutely loved it when I was playing it 10-11 years ago. But now I'm older, wiser, and everyone say it sucks, so I will never play it again. Let the memory of one of the best games I've ever played remain unspoiled.
Star Wars Battlefront - I've seen a few mentions of Battlefront 2 in this thread, but I like the first one better. There's just something about flying a Cloud Car over Bespin.
Megaman - I hate it sooo much. But I love it more.

Pretty tough choice tbh.

1. Fable - Pretty much got me into RPG games, completed it roughly 20+ times so it takes the stop spot.

2. Oblivion - Its what made me want an Xbox 360.

3.Skyrim - While some features were changed from Oblivion I still have 300 hours or so in Skyrim.

4. Mass Effect - For a Sc-Fi themed game it managed to hold my attention over 3 games, something no other Sci-Fi game has done.

5. Deus Ex: HR - Never played a Deus Ex game until this one, largely enjoyed it.

There so many games that should have a good mention, though I would be here all day typing it so I shall leave it at that.

I'm actually really thrilled with gaming these days. Every few years a new game forces its way onto my top list, something I cannot say about any other medium. My favorite movie list certainly doesn't get new additions this often. If you'd asked me in 2004, I'd have given you a bunch of final fantasy and SNES games.

My top 5 favorite games of all time:

1 - Shining Force 3 - Scenario 1 -> In a time I rarely replayed a game, I played this epic TRPG over 6 times, I discovered on my own all possible secrets there were possible to discover, each new playthrough brought something new and the plot was incredible.

Spoiler:

2 - Panzer Dragoon Saga -> Fantastic combat + Amazing story + fantastic music + amazing voice actors + Dragons? WIN (the rarest game I own to boot)

Spoiler:

3 - Guardian Heroes -> I played this game for so, so, so, so many hours

Spoiler:

4 - Knights of the Old Republic (II was a terrible disappointment) -> It has one of my favorite characters of all time, HK-47, never will I have such a enjoyable companion in a game ever again.

Spoiler:

5 - Neverwinter Nights -> It made me stop being a pirate. No bullsh*t, I couldn't wait to play it, I downloaded it after it was released, played it like mad for a week then I decided I had to buy it and since then I have renounced my YAAAARRR ways.
