Thanks Gits...

OK IRL....
Spoiler:

I am not happy!
Life keeps getting in the way, spent half the week messing about with computers, now me bloody card reader on me PC wont work and I am struggling to get pics sorted. Coupled with being stupid tired, worried about loads of gack going on in my little corner, and when I do pull me head out me ar........ WWIII what the hell?

Can't even get on my PC to Dakka these days unless I stay up way past everyone else. GRRRRRRR.

Can't do squat physically either, really getting P'd off with that. Took a walk across the beach the other day, buggered me up for 2 days.

OK Rant over. Basically it's a sad excuse for not being around as much and not being productive enough at the mo. I really need and care about you guys, and it is hard to be feeling like I am letting you down.

Now bit of work done....

This is an example of me laying down loads of paint and washes and sprinkling in Bi-Carb. I also wanted to show one of my speed drying methods, just an ordinary lamp with a 150W spot bulb in it, generates enough heat to melt plastic if you are not careful, but is brilliant at drying out washes and paint quickly, especially when you don't want to disturb the paint too much like if you blow dry it.

Thank you so much for looking and sticking around, sorry the content has slipped a bit and I am struggling to post on your blogs at the mo. Please keep your thoughts coming, I will be back soon promise.

Honestly... drying paint fast sounds like the right idea... but I have butter, bread and cheese....

well yeah... i am going to toast me a grilled cheese right there.

Also if there were safety ratings you clearly read them and decided your life is in the danger zone.

Keep it toasty cam.

I’m feeling you Cam, this world is stupid against parents and hobbyists. Your productivity still astounds us every time you post. I took a break when life got rough, I can’t say if it’s right or wrong, but it helped me even when I was having a desire to show more off. I fell into the trap of thinking I NEED to post x number of times a day, and respond to every blog and get into other games others were getting into. I think others are feeling similar weights of the hobby on them too. Your voicing it, Nerdy voiced similar issues he’s having. How do we fix it? No clue. Sorry.im here for you with my extra long couch, my psycho-analytical skills don’t exist, but your welcome to pick my little mind if you like.

All I can say is I walked away from my hobby space for a while because it became a workspace. I feel better for it, and more refreshed for doing it.

LOL, Theo your mind is an amazing place, never change.-camkierhi 9/19/13

Project is coming along great Cam. Used to do something similar myself with a lamp but nothing that powerful... just enough to give a bit of extra warmth.

Spoiler:
Sorry to hear about your troubles my friend. I've had no end of computer issues over the last couple of years... mostly having issues with my internet provider/connection which was very unreliable and slow to boot. Luckily that's been solved (fingers crossed). It can be very frustrating however... especially if you're an attention-junkie like I am and need feedback to stay motivated!

Healing takes time and rest. You want to try and stay active of course, but you don't want to push yourself to the point of re-injury. Be patient. Take it slowly.

Looking great Cam!

Spoiler:
Sounds like you have alot going on right now. I can get your frustration. My advice: make sure you keep in contact with your loved ones. Humans have a tendency to turn inwards at times like these, but having the right peopel around you helps a lot better. And you really shouldn't worry about being 'productieve' - you outproduce us all And don't forget: it's about your enjoyment of the hobby, we're just grateful we get to see the pretty pics!

Nice work, Cam'.

I'm sure many of us get caught by the "must post regularly or people will be disappointed" way of thinking, I know I do.
The trick is to not worry about it. Post when you can, we'll be here whenever, as always.
There's so many of us on here there's always something to look at, you're not solely responsible for keeping DDakka going.
That helps me not worry anyway.

Train is looking stylish. the contrasting rivets. I know, it'll be painted.
Spoiler:

Card reader: Is it dirty? I aske because I had the issue of lint or whatevs getting compacted against the contacts every time i inserted the card. Cleaned it out with a toothpick and it works a charm again.

Other PC issues: I can't help there. I haven't dealt much with the Windows OS in about 10 years. I ditched it for Linux when Vista came out.

If nothing else just post on other threads with good advice etc. Take a break from the craft for a bit.

I have so many unfinished projects and unpainted minis. No worries to me anymore,Cam, the projects will be there when I am ready to work on them. Same goes for your projects. They won't grow legs and wander off....

Great piece of terrain!

Gathering a gist from many folks' blogs that I follow- but I think we're all getting a little antsy. Dunno if it's the onset of Spring (when a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of love(ly new figures to paint) or what.

I haven't asked for awhile, but I hope the PT for the leg is coming along alright; from personal experience I know that this can get very repetitive and annoying very quickly. Hang in there!

As others have indicated, whilst yours is one of my favorite blogs to visit- just for the shear creativity- I do have the odd other place or two that I visit also. that keeps me occupied whilst you play mad scientist.

I learn a lot from watching what you do and appreciate all the advice you have given me throughout my time here on DakkaDakka.

I look forward to more of both- when it comes in good time!

Remember the triangle of facets - cost, quality, availability. You can only pick two in any project and you already auto-choose 'cost' you thrifty-person, you..

The terrain is looking absolutely fantastic dude, but as others have said; don't think there's expectation heaped upon you because there isn't - IRL stuff HAS to take priority and after all; didn't that 'god' fella have to take one out of every seven off?

I've been going over your step-by-step for painting stonework for some stuff I've been planning on doing for a while - Cheers for that!!

Unfortunately it looks like he used one of the image sites that got stupid and now pics aren’t working.

Tzeentch terrain, hmm I'd imagine some thing like a landscape painting by Salvador Dali. Or random arangements of variously sized shapes like Dodecahedrons etc in various colours, some merging with others, or like they are splitting appart. Or even representations of 4D shapes in 3D like Klein jars.

Neil101 made this a while ago I remember:

Tzeetch terrain sounds like a fun challenge. He's some ideas I'm making up:

Maybe make some terrain that looks like it's in the middle of changing from one thing to another? Like ground that looks like a gradient, where it's bar sand or ash on one edge, then wet mud and rocks, partly alive grass, healthy grass, healthy grass with flowers and stuff, shrubs and flowers, then finally a dense jungle in a narrow strip.

Another idea could be a normal piece of terrain in build style, but then paint it in a crazy blue and purple tie-dye like pattern.

It would also be cool to have a hill that seems to be taking on the form of a giant magic tome

Good luck with this project Cam
