I was wondering if footdar is a viable option anymore. I know Wave serpents are the bees knees (Kids still say that right?), but i was wondering if a foot slogging Eldar list could still work.
Units I was thinking about using are, guardians with multiple weapon platforms, War Walkers, Dark Reapers, Wraightguard, and Avatar to make units fearless. My group I play are more concerned with having a good time than playing WAC list. Most list do not have flyers and if they do it is limited to one. Of course this is not a rule, just a by product of how we play. in this environment I think it will work fine. But how about in more competitive environments/
Thanks

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie. |

Yes. they are. What you need to take kind of depends on your local meta, but I would check out Front Line Gaming's battle reports (Team0comp on youtube). Reece has done quite a few batreps with his footdar, and he has done extremely well.

Yes, footdar is still viable. Check out any of Frontline Gaming's eldar battle reports. Reece's footdar are doing very well.
BTW, WAAC describes a player type, not the list. A list can be competitive, but a WAAC player is what gives the list a bad rep. Please don't generalize all lists as WAAC.

hey man, it's the truth. Reece has been preaching footdar for a long time, and he plays them exceptionally.

Thanks for the advice. i will have to check out Reece.
jy2 - most WAC players I see are only using net list. i lump them together. In my area I have not seen a net list in the hands of nonWAC players, and I normally don't see WAC playing anything other than a net list.
I do agree it is the player and not the list that make games unfun. Automatically Appended Next Post: OK, so I'm watching a battle rep against IG and Reese actually said "Bees Knees". So either we are both really old, or the saying is coming back.
I vote for we are both old.

Do any of you know of a pure Eldar footdar competitive build? I've seen the front line gaming posts, and I believe he uses a decent amount of DE.

Take some Eldar jetbikes instead of those Hellions, take an Autarch instead of Baron and take Nightspinner instead of the Ravager. Or you could take another group of 10 Warp Spiders instead of any one(or two) of those.

I was going to say something similar. There are a bunch of units you could use instead of what Reece takes, but watching him battle gives you a good idea on how it needs to function on the table. Swooping Hawks could be good if you're facing gun line tau, I hear, but Jetbikes are probably best to swap for the hellion as they're scoring too. Nightspinner or even a Fire Prism would be good for the ravager, as it is very versatile. Warp Spiders are brilliant.

Just because all the WAAC players you know play net lists doesn't mean that everyone who plays a net list is a WAAC player. Hell it doesn't even mean all WAAC players use net lists either. And lumping them together is rather ignorant, and is very insulting to many people who you are throing into your stereotype. Just saying, be careful how you throw that phrase around; with the exception of one particular poster on Dakka who hasn't been around in along time, nobody wants to be called TFG.

Well, footdar worked in all editions but needs a skilled player.
I'd opt for Eldrad, an Avatar, Guardians that walk in the Avatar's fearlessness bubble, Wraithguard, Warwalkers for shooty goodness, and some counters-strike units like Harlies and possibly Wraithlord and Wraithknight.

Based on the Team Zero Comp battle reports, I really like the Eldar/DE combo for foot Eldar.
In particular, the DE give you some nice CC backup with Beast packs, and the Baron is pretty rad.
I might put together this list someday, just to give you another take on the idea:
HQ: Farseer on Jetbike, Singing Spear 120
HQ: Farseer on Jetbike, Singing Spear 120
HQ: 8 Warlocks on Jetbikes 400
HQ: Baron Sathonyx 105
TR: 3 Windrider Jetbikes, Shuriken cannon 61
