Im nearly 99% certain I read somewhere recently of a unit with AV15, might have been a website, article or book.
However I may well have dreamt it too.

Any ideas?

The Aquila Strongpoint for Apoc has AV15.

It's classified as a...massive fortification I think. I don't have my book in front of me.

There was one vehicle that had AV16 if I recall, but that was in 5th edition and was part of a special mission. (The objective was to kill it.)

I wonder if more Av15 will start popping up? Its certainly a change (albeit a minor one if only one unit has it) in game mechanics.

Yeah, they mention the fact that it's AV15 in the book. Something about it being so big that it's higher than the normal highest of AV14.

Maybe they'll make something harder for my Vindicare assassin to pop.

Or it could be a GW booboo. It's not like GW doesn't have spelling mistakes.

I know, I noticed a few in the new Apoc book.
Pretty sloppy.

Perhaps stats higher than 10 and AV better than 14 should pop up more in apoc.

I'm pretty sure it's not a typo. There's an entry addressing the fact that it's AV15. They wouldn't do that if it was AV14, there's lots of AV14 stuff out there.

Well, melta and S9/10 weapons can pop it, but not S8 powerfists and whatnot. Why not.

yeah, its actually a nice thing. You need melta or D weapons to actually hurt it reliably. Makes fortifications a little more viable, instead of just being lascannon bait.

It was in Apoc 1.0.

You can glance AV15 with S9.

If you're planning on glancing AV 15 ghost arks to death with lascannons you may as well find some popcorn, lemonade, and a recliner because it's gonna take a loooong time.

Oh totally. Serves them right, they should have brought a bigger gun

Even with the current rules if they allow an AV15 vehicle in non-apoc games something terrible just happened, as S9 is almost never numbered enough to glance it to death and S10 needs a 6 to blow it up, and is equally if not more rare than S9 outside melee.

Could understand the fortifications being AV15, since i always found it funny that a land raider is equally as hard to knock over as a fortified heavy defense post lol

Hmmm, interesting point Vine, that was my original thinking.
But melta, str10 (which a few new units have) can wreck it and MCs can still do a job.

Will it come into standard 40k you guys think? Or stay just in Apoc considering the sheer number of D weps and str10 that abounds?

Actually, with hull points and the changes to building rules, AV14 structures are harder to destroy than land raiders. You can't glance a building to death, for example.

As it should be. Otherwise bunkers wouldn't be a great place to be.

i dont think ive ever glanced any AV13-14 vehicle to death. In fact i rarely glance any vehicle to death, if i do its usually a lowly rhino in front of a squad of firewarriors or bad rolling lootas.
