I think that flagging New South Wales and the surrounding area as a known place for scams to originate from would be fair enough. There's already a list of "red flag" areas in the sticky at the top of the Swap Shop forum.
But no one reads those...

We should probably flag Texas and the surrounding areas as well then, unless its already up there? Also, which sticky is that, I can't seem to find it.

So why not Dora Creek itself rather than a state that is 809,444 square kilometres in size? Texas being 696,241 square kilometres.

Makaleth wrote:RiTides,
The police in this instance actually suggested putting up the address (I would say without street details) of this person to make sure no-one sends anything else to him (or if he tries it again to make sure they are notified immediately).
Is that within the guidelines of Dakka?
Unfortunately, no. I have allowed Dora Creek, New South Wales to be posted (as motyak says) but full addresses are against site rules.
Also, again if you're not involved please keep this thread clear for folks trying to pursue charges against this person... if indeed any victim other than Makaleth follows through on that. It's the only way to truly stop someone like this.
Although it sounds like he's on his "last strike" with police, that could become a "strike out" if someone else would go to their police about it. He still is going to get models from a half-dozen people out of this, in addition to the GW orders that had already shipped (thankfully, not the large ones, but some model trades were large and should be taken to the police).
See last page for the complaint number to give your police to call the NSW police regarding this person (James C).

Agree with RiTides, if you have police information from overseas and struggling to have them forward it to Australia, I can see what I can do there as well.

I contacted the NSW Police and they said i need the contact info to the department that the file was initiated at. Is there a way you could post or PM the contact info so those of us in the states could add to the case? I personally have over $200 in models in transit over to him that I would like to try and get back.

Did the local police happen to say if we have to wait for him to get the items and then an x amount of time to fulfill his part of the deal or not.

Can't believe this turd has resurfaced... Ill try and get the event number I had when I put my complaint in with north Wales police. I want this guy brought to justice for ripping so many people off! Automatically Appended Next Post: As the police didn't catch up with him last time I would be willing to give out my personal details and items lost to RiTides to go where they need to go?

It may possibly be worth as seeing how most of the victims are within North America to decide on a police office in the states (will need to be in a state that a victim was in) and give all this information to them as well, as considering the numerical value of these items it is likely they should take what amounts to internet fraud very seriously which could end up with the United States filling extradition orders for this person and have them sent over to the US for prosecution. However if convicted in the state he committed these offences in he is subject of up to 10 years imprisonment so even still he is facing quite a serious charge.

I sent him around $1500.00 worth of tyranids have contacted both my local police and the dept. listed in this thread (by email) the AUS dept said I needed to file a local report. The local pd took my information but basically said that since it wasnt loca,l it wasn't a large enough crime for them to do anything about. If there is any headway with the AUS pd please keep posting here.

$1500 isn't a large enough crime for them to make a phone call about!?
You need to persist... they have to take a report on something like that. If you give them the Aus police contact info, it should be an easy thing for them to follow up on. Just one phone call!

I found a joint taskforce for all the US citizens that are involved that they may wish to try and explore as well, see if it gets any results which is the Internet Crime Complaint Centre, which primarily is administrated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. To register a complaint visit: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
