Lictors come in and are placed anywhere with no scatter, so use them to surround an enemy unit. DS Mawloc in, any unit that can't move out of the way dies automatically, and the Lictors will ensure that he can't move. Bring a few Mawlocs in case one scatters.

You would be amazed how often people forget that crisis suits CAN and WILL crush tanks with AV10 rear by charging them.
Also, there is nothing quite as amusing as seeing a land raider braking into your line, just to remind the opponent that he is within charge range of fire warriors, and you bothered getting EMP.

And meltas, and heavy flamers, oh my!
I'm working on a list that will tire my opponent out, like fielding 6 full units of of FW, 3 full units of PF, and 3 full units of XV8 with meltas, plasma rifles and vector retro-thrusters and having 2 Cadre Fireblades as HQ to make two FW units extra shooty.
I made a list with XV88's that gave everyone Marker Drones, and that clocked in at 1930 points and should be able to deal with most things. But it was only 6 XV88, 4 with TL PR.
Changing to XV8 Elites is a 1917 point list that should be way more mobile and annoying, and all units have shield drones this time.
The normal FW units got 12 to 24 shots, sure, only str 5 AP 5, but it is also 48 to 96 shots, so one or two is bound to do something.
The other two squads got 26 to 39 when not moving, so there will be a maximum of 100 to 174 shots from all those 6 units, might not make many wounds, or they can be dishing out a lot of ouch, even in overwatch!
I would love to hear from anyone that is able to throw around all these dice for a bit to give some statistics of how annoying this can become.
Facing Tau you will always go for the PF units, but the numbers here might make it too much for most armies, I would think, as you got to do something about both the PF support for the FW units, and see to it that the 9 XV8's don't do too much against you.
With all these units flailing about, there will be some hilarity and shenanigans going on.

This should be hilarious:
20 Kroots with 10 Kroot Hounds, making 40 attacks in CC, times 4.
Give all the Kroots sniper rounds, just for the fun of having 80 snipers.
Then have XV8's backed up by PF for much fun.
The Kroots will probably bee overlooked, but they should be too many to actually be overlooked.
This will also free up two HQ slots, so maybe more XV8's!

6.66 wounds from precision shots is pretty good, ~2 of those are even rending. Against MEQ, you're sniping 3 special/heavy weapons a turn.
Looking at Planet of the Apes, I think it'd play better with 30 monkeys and 6 chimeras. You could fire all 30 out of the top hatches, but you pick up 36 additional S5/S6 shots.
Points left would have to go into an Alpha Male (Knuckle Dragging Dreadknight).

Change the Ethereal to a Cadre Fireblade and stuff him with the Sniper Drones for extra shootyness. The Ethereal only gives 1 extra shot per game, and I see little else use of them...
I don't like the idea of using Riptides, as many might not want to go up against it. It kinda becomes an annoying distraction and aren't as trolololololol as a maximum number of XV8's can be.
Then again, it can be very fun to stubbornly use overcharge and see the Riptides blow themselves up.
About the POTA list, it should be fun to field on apes, as they have melta, heavy flamers and lascannon in the same device.
If you are up against someone that don't know Jakaeros, it will be more fun when understands that you can throw out those things whenever and ... and... something, don't remember what now. Something about the apes being easy to kill, maybe?

I'm not sure you would even be able to pay for that...
In IG you can do some pretty cute tricks with Psyker Battle Squads, Primaris Psykers with Telepathy, and also pinning weapons if you want. Terrify will send almost anyone packing, Dominate will keep them in place, Psychic Shriek will mutilate tough squads, and even Nightshroud can be put to better use., while Pinning will cause people to drop to the floor a lot easier.
