Hmm the paintjobs are great. Its just that i don't think lotr models offer as much detail as the other ones posted before do.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

I really like Alexi-Z's work she was one of the painters who inspired me to return to the hobby.

I'll never be able to paint like her, not even in my dreams

Quite a collection. Do you have them all arranged in a cabinet? =)

Would love to see a pic of that, would be epic!

My favourite Sculpt has to be Barbarian Dude.
and my favourite paint job probably Jotunn. That cloth is pretty sick.

Bohun is, by far, my favorite...
Seb's palette is not as interesting as Bohun's, and Alexi doesn't really seem to have evolved her style, and is starting to look very dated...
her NMM skill is great, but just doesn't seem fresh and interesting anymore...
Bohun's latest evolution does seem bold and fresh...

that's my take, anyway...

lovely collection you have...

cheers

Hmm great paint-jobs again. However I'd like to add that i don't think those bases do the models justice at all.. and the first one just seems strange and reminds me somewhat of that pyramid guy from silent hill

I chose the bases, not the artists. The bases are meant to be neutral bases, so they do not distract the eye when the models are placed in dioramas, which may be either dwarven forge caverns or dungeons or outside locations. I do not want these models to just sit in a display case, and, therefore, scenic and distinctive bases that look good in a display case but that create a jarring visual incongruity when the models are placed in a game diorama are not what I want. Most collectors of such fine models simply place them in their display case and, therefore, demand that each base be a further extension of the artistry and uniqueness of the model. These collectors periodically pull out their models to look at them and to show them to friends. But that is not the type of collector that I am. I have and will continue to use these models in games with my (most trusted) friends and in dioramas.

Here are a few examples:

What an incredible collection of models - thank you so much for sharing. I'm totally in awe of anyone who can paint so magnificently and it's impossible to pick one model as my favourite, but I do love the stuff done by Sebastien Picque. Bohun is an amazing painter (the detail on Jotunn is insane!) but I just prefer the overall 'feel' of seb's stuff. I'm going to go back and drool for a little while more now..

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

I love the MM trolls. They are so distinctive. And, of course, nobody paints them with such realism and beauty as Seb.

I am not sure how many people are actually looking at my pics, but I figured I would keep posting them, just in case some of the dakka dakka folks remain interested in them.

Once my basement renovation is complete, I will put together some nice dioramas with these minis to share with those of you that remain interested.

Thanks guys. Your words make me keep wanting to post more pics.

Here are a few random pics of some of the models I have that were painted by Alexi-Z in DF ice caverns. Click on the pics to see them at very high resolution in photobucket (zoom into max resolution to see insane detail). The Théoden model won a gold golden demon in 2006 Chicago show:

Gorgeous LotR minis. The painted on texture looks great (like Gimli's gloves). The bases are a unique idea for those stand alone character minis, but Gimli should have one too. His rocky scenic base throws the whole thing off. Wonderfully painted, though! Thanks again for sharing!

EDIT: Woah! You slipped in that barbaric dude and those jaw dropping Khorne minis! The awesome just keeps coming!
