PuppetsWar already has an awesome Terminator proxy in the works. If they just expanded on that for an even bigger suit, I would be all over it. PuppetsWar should have some concepts out fairly quick. I put my money on them to be first.

Their model already looks perfect. All they'd need to do would be scale up their existing CAD design.

More I stare the Centurions more my eyes bleed more convinced I become that they're on 50mm bases. The size of the details just doesn't work otherwise.

Wow... Tonka Tough Centurions are hilariously awful.

I expect them to come with an over the top jingle to sell them in commercials to Saturday morning cartoons.

Is that captain model a re-sculpted version of the old AOBR model?

Also for those of you complaining about the Centurions... you need to ask yourself a question before posting:

What would I think of this if I was twelve years old?

Without this perspective, I'm afraid GW doesn't care about your opinion.

I dont mind the centurions, just big bulky marines with cataphract pads who handle the heavy heavy stuff.

The chaplain looks ok but I prefer the others, like the flowing scrolls though. The captain just looks like sicarus mixed with the AOBR captain. The librarian though is super badass but just a shame I couldnt use him.

Looking forward to seeing the sternguards.

Also looking forward to having some Templar vanguard with thunder hammers if the codex allows it.

That just looks lazy to be honest, or they want to have the AOBR captain available again. Shame I hated the AOBR captain.

Looky Likey

So the new Sternguard, Vanguard and HQs look fab. Going to have to pick up a couple of sets of each, an old tactical box, a new tactical box and raid my bits boxes to kit bash another 50 vets and command squad for my 2nd company, decided that 1st company is going to be all terminators, my old 2nd company gives me a new 3rd company. Last release I made my own Sternguard and Vanguard as I didn't want to buy the metal versions as I wanted 20 of each, then rarely used either due to the points cost. Vanguard with Stormshield and Hammer being more expensive than equivalent Terminator even without the jump pack. Bit fed up that they turned out so nice as I was going to spend the money on the remaining drop pods to round out my 2nd companies transport.

I really really want to be able to take a terminator command squad complete with an apothecary in terminator armour as I've recently built one. Ideal world apothecaries would be a FOC less IC like Warlocks in the Eldar codex...

Do we have any idea on the rules for the jumbo marines yet? Trying to work out how many I need to budget for.

I would have still hated it. 12 years old was about when I stopped reading comics due to the industry getting overrun with Rob Liefeld dreck, and these models are altogether too similar.

Those centurion things are god aweful. I just think 40k has really gone down the pan as far as designs go, I dont know maybe its just me.
And did we honestly need a new space marine troop type? They just look action figures from power rangers or something. The characters however are cool, I like the Chaplin.

Just paint them Salamanders and call it a day. But yeah, Orks used to be the platform for this kind of units - back in the day when different armies had different flavors..

This is why we can't have nice things.

I think its interesting that when everyone panned the new marine tunnel digger figures within 24 hours another picture of them with weapons was 'leaked'. I wonder how much GW are saving in advertising with pictures being 'leaked'...?

I don't really like the Centurions, but I don't dislike them either, I think they look a lot better in the helmets, but the main thing I don't understand is why they just have a normal marine helmet? Why have all the armour then just a standard power armour helmet, asking to get sniped? Unless they have some sort of energy shield which would also explain the helmet-less version. I think they would look infinitely better if they had a huge helmet to match, more in line with a terminator armour helmet, but bigger.

EDIT: Or even have a high collar ala Mk 8 power armour to protect the neck.

Very different to what i expected though, I though they were going to be more like a silverback from gears of war, so the marine just loads into the back of it, rather than what looks like a seriously complicated process to get that armour on, especially after spending a few hours getting the power armour on in the first place.

I kind of like the shooty Termietubbies - but the first thing I'm doing if I get them is replacing those god awful helmets and heads and removing that absolutely idiotic leg plate. If I was a rich man I'd proxy Contemptor Dreadnoughts as them instead, but gah.

Its no worry though, I bet all the money in the world that Centurions of both kinds will suck.
