Soooooo ya I am attending the GT at Pleasonton and I wll have batreps up when this is all over! So an over veiw of the list that I took to the GT is this:
Farseer w/ spear
Spirit seer
3 WS with SL and Holofields. 10 guardians in each.
3 windrider jb
8 Warp spiders
8 reapers w/ Exarch and starshot missles.
WK with SL and Suncannon.
3 Walkers with scatter lasers
ADL with Quad
How do you think i did and feel free to comment on whatever you want.

I think this is a very good armie, typical build on the str of the Eldar.
On matchups, a well build deamon or triple helldrake list will obliterate this, the others will be all winnable. Necrons will be an all tactical match up also.
i think you will win 65% to 75% of your matches.
PS: kudo's on the 8 Reapers, they ROCK and are one of my favourite units, almost guaranteed first blood when you start the game also...

You have ruled this galaxy for ten thousand years
Yet have little of account to show for your efforts
Order. Unity. Obedience.
We taught the galaxy these things
I like how your eldar has evolved from since we first played. The DR's were a good addition, as was the jetbikes. Good luck with the rest of your games.
Godless-Mimicry wrote: Looking forward to seeing some pictures and reports. A mate of mine was over there this year so here's hoping you played him.
Are you talking about Mike with his eldar? He's currently 3-0 and will be playing in the Top 8 on Day 2. His game #3 he beat Adam and his very tough Triptide Taudar list.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Just a brief update. Some of the people who made it to Day 2 with 3-0 records (that I am aware of):
Reece (Space Marines/Space Wolves)
Frankie (very nasty Eldar/Dark Eldar list with 6 ravagers!)
Mortavie (Eldar + Tau)
Ministry (Tau + Eldar)
Liz (BAO 2013 winner, daemons)
Mike (Eldar + allies?)
Not sure who else.
Not surprisingly, there was a huge number of Tau/Eldar players. Probably 1/3 of the field contained them in one form or another. As I predicted, riptides are the new heldrakes. For marines, there were a staggering number of drop pod armies. Reece ran 3 drop pods in his army, including the dreadnought drop pod where he can assault on the turn he lands. There was also a good number of Hyperios Launchers on the marine side.
Suprisingly, only 4 necron armies that I saw, including a very nasty triple-heldrake, 4-necron flyer list (he might have gone 3-0 as well). Would've been 5 had I been able to play.

You didn't play this year jy2?
No, I couldn't get time off of work due to another manager taking vacation at the same time.
That's too bad....I was really looking forwards to defending my title. I would've brought a very nasty army.
However, I did play against Frankie's very nasty DE/Eldar list (4th place) with 6 venoms, 6 ravagers and 1 wraithknight in a pickup game. I also played against the eventual champion, Mortavie (1st) the night before the tournament in a practice game as well. Lucky for you all, there will be a battle report coming for one of those games.

I am looking forward to it.
GKA I am also looking forward to seeing how you do. Whose batrep style will you copy/adapt? Or will you be creating your own?
Itll be more like jy2 but not as well because lookng at the pics...I could have better. Since this is my first time though I think i did well . With taking pics tha is.

If you took any pics at your first tournament I will be very impressed. I always bring a camera to tournies with the plan of batrepping, and I ALWAYS fail to snap more than like three terrible photos and take zero notes.
Armies: Lokisons (The Rout), Sluts and Puppies: A Chaos Daemon Experience (Daemons), PDF of the Union of Surviving Slavic Regimes (Imperial Guard), The Dead Live! (Chaos Marines), Loke's Blokes (Orks), The Kabal of the Hidden Blade (DE)

Seriously this has been every tournament I've tried to do batreps in. Looking forward to OP's reports as well as his insight in he and JY2's batreps has been very helpful.
Edit:and too the dude who didn't know JY2 wasn't doing golden throne don't feel bad I read his reports here almost religiously and somehow missed that point as well haha although I kind of figured something was up when there was no "road to golden throne" report thread haha.

I have lots of army photos. Guess ill post 'em. Only a few in-game. That's ok though, just imagine taking Orks out of ziplocks and and putting them back in after congratulating an opponent on their victory! Hah. Sad but true

2 Hyperperios Air Defence Battery- 4
Mission: Crusade 3 objectives
Deployment: Vanguard Strike
Going First- BA/DA
Night fight- No
Steal Initiative- No
Deployment:
Spoiler:
His deployment with objective in the ruins,
Some more turrets at the bottom.
My deployment since all his fire power is scary and spiders are hiding, waiting to pounce on some unlucky BA.
The other objective.
BA/DA 1
Spoiler:
Movement:
Drop pods rain down and All focus is on Goldmemer. What I wasn't counting on though, was him taking over my Quad and I feared for the WW's lives at this point.
The other side of his dropping!
Shooting:
I forgot to take a pic, but all that happens is Goldmember soaking up shots like a champ and comes out with only 3 wounds. He didn't target my WW's and I then out a sigh of relief
Eldar 1:
Spoiler:
Movement:
A group of guardians pop out and spiders go into the warp and come out unscathed to surprise some BA.
Walkers shuffle a bit, along with the reapers and WS. Reapers have prescience and I forgot who got guide.
Shooting:
His guys went to ground and after a few shots only 2 are left...great.
The Quad is ours again!
There were some BA's there...not to mention spiders... O ya they went back into the ruins for the next wave!
I believe a serpent takes out one of the bloody turrets.
Antoher takes out the sergant for the Oblits.
That ends my shooting and the only assault move is well...you already know!
BA/DA 2
Spoiler:
This is movement and shooting in one pic because I failed this turn!
Well just when I thought the quad was mine...He takes it again! Another DP comes out over by the WS trying to kill it, but does nothing. I do lose 2 walkers and Goldmember saves all wounds. He also kills one or two reapers and then kills my Spirit Seer for First Blood!
Eldar 2:
Spoiler:
To be continued.....

I forgot to do overview shots in this game. Pretty much no los blocking terrain because the rules were if you jad a shield then take out one piece of terrain. Not to mention the first few rounds were fought on my half anyway. Ill have this finishedcup by tonight o tommorow. Busy day today.

The terrain at the golden throne GT was actually pretty good this year, there WAS a bunch of LOS blocking terrain, just probably not as tall as some people would have liked.
They probably could have used some more misc pieces of terrain and maybe one big LOS blocker somewhere but I trust they'll have that next year.
Jesus Christ changed my life, He can do the same for you!
