Here's the summary of my list
7 pms plasma rhino
7 pms melta rhino
Heldrake
Oblit
2x oblit
Vindicator
Heldrake
Everything has Mon. This all comes out to 1028.
Here's comes the shenanigans.
As an hq I wanted to take a nurgle biker lord and pillage with him up and down the table with a unit of 6 mon chaos spawns. Crazy speed, crazy attacks, unpredictable as possible.
This would bring the list up to 1308 with the spawns having mon as well. I was thinking the lord would get a power sword and the burning brand.
Ill put something else in to round everything out to 1500.
Have any of you tried this or something like it? The spawn models are 20 usd a piece andI'd hate to spend that much on what might be utterly pointless.

Well, what you listed is at least 1154pts by my count, possibly more, so you may want to double check your math. Aside from that, the core of your list looks quite solid.
Indeed, a Nurgle Bike Lord will be quite suitable for the role you're imagining. Chaos Spawn would be a great unit for him to ride with as well. They're a tough out and will provide ample SUPPORT for him in combat. Bear in mind Spawn can only be taken in squads of 5 max. With MoN, you're looking at 180pts for them.
As for the Lord, I would get him out like this:
MoN, Bike, Power Fist, Lightning Claw, Blight Grenades, Sigil of Corruption.
That configuration clocks in at another 180pts. Bike for mobility, MoN and Sigil for durability, Fist/Claw allows you to be effective in combat against a variety of units, Blight Grenades give you Stealth from shooting inside of 8" which will combo well with your unit.
With all that, you'll be around 1500 pts. The next thing I'd look to add after that is a third troop choice, possibly allied in from the Chaos Daemon codex.

Spawn are good with a biker lord, but I prefer to put him with more bikers instead. Brand and flamer bikers to roast troops, or meltas and so on to pop yanks etc. Durable, fast and can suit either role. Spawn are more durable but substantially less pwn and cost more iirc.
If tou want spawn you should look at converting them. See what bits you can rustle up from yours and your mates collections. A lot of WHFB bits can be useful with this, as can Nids Orks and DE.

Don't you want the Lord in combat, though! Not flaming his way out of charge range and/or overkilling your target leaving your unit hanging out to dry during your opponents shooting phase?
If I was taking a Sorcerer, I'd give him Burning Brand and throw him with some Bikers. However, I'd argue Spawn are the more synergistic choice for a Lord.

Hmm. Well I don't know about a third troop choice, maybe just bolster the two current squads? All death guard are plague marines but not all plague marines are death guard blah blah. And I'm not fielding typhus so I don't feel the compulsion to stick with fluff.
I will however go back on the burning brand, being stuck in the open would be no fun at all. Its a whopping 30 points alone anyway.
Probably going to see about scrounging up some spawn. I really like the idea of having a 15 wound shield for the lord. Not to mention the potential for huge amounts of attacks...
Most importantly, how do I put a fist and claw on a biker and not make him look completely ridiculous? I mean, how would he even steer the bike/ operate controls?

Honestly I think Bikerlords go best with Bikers, who are crazy in their own right. Having the extra character to make silly challenges is great, the shooting is nice, grenades are nice, the attacks are reliable and the 3+ armor save is nice. The lord makes the bikes fearless. Bikes can get VotLW, take it. MoN lord gets MoN bikers
Keep the MoN spawn though, they are already fearless and just run them near your bikers to draw fire and tarpit things. Automatically Appended Next Post:

so convert something. They are Chaos Spawn, who knows what they are supposed to look like.
For my Dark Mechanicus influenced army I have purely mecha spawn running around.

The Chaos gods guide ala The Force? Steers with his knees like my father does when flosses while driving? Chaos Familiar? Sexy demon chick? Slave chained to the front ala Mad Max? Extra Chaos mutant arms ala T-1000 piloting the helicopter in T2?
These are jut off the top of my head but should be pretty easy.

I would add a black mace to the Biker Lord. That way when he gets into combat he will slay any fool who opposes him (well almost any). I am beginning to warm up to sculpting a unit of 5 Chaos spawn with the Mark of Nurgle. Cant be all that difficult. Lots of legs and tendrils waving everywhere along with some crazy fangs, teeth and eyes.

I forgot it's for the whole unit. I was also assuming bijer lords wouldn't get charged because they're fast, but now that I'm thinking about it beasts, stormboyz, and other bikes are just as fast. Not to mention that he's probably going to get stuck in a big scrum and charged the next turn at least once in a while, right?
