That's a lot of miniatures being tackled at the same time. You must have a large dose of patience to assembly line all that, I envy you

Actualy, I find that when I assembly line I get the same quality in a 3 hour miniature that I do in a non lined 5-6 hour dude. But sometimes the cleanup can be brutal, especially with the gold paint, and how it likes to flake around everywhere (a long stiff wet brush is good for dealing with flakes). Fortunately I have devised a way of redoing shading in tight areas without resorting to slapping the shade on and waiting.also, blending was worth learning!

So, Just recently picked up my favorite kit of the Space marines 1.2 Patch ( XD ). The new vaguard. Ofc, they are too "pimped out" to look good next to my Rank n file troops, so I have decided that, with a smatering of grey knight bits, and spehs mehreen kits, I will create a 10 man vanguard, a perfect unit for my JP chaplain to lead, especialy now that they can have cheaper (I am speeking in in-game points of course) Invulns and such. Anyways, laying the groundplans now, Will have something out around Thursday-Saturday, so DO hold your breath.

Everything's looking good so far! You got a lot done really fast! And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who paints guns black! Unless you weren't intending on painting them black then burn the black guns they are heretic guns! Also if you could check out my BA blog and give me your inputs on what I have so far (the very little I have so far) the link is in my sig.
Can't wait to see the finished Land Raider!

I worked all weekend cuz I knew that there would be a Pain in the rump school week. Turns out I was wrong. I will take some shots of both the landraiders. i am a bit daunted by the side sponsons (sponsons or sponsors not so sure which) so those wont be till later, but technicaly landraider 2 is done. I am toying around with the idea of some very basic flat area highlights above the lights and near the edges+some extreme highlights. Ima go check darnathuses blog now. Oh yes, I applied to a dakka comp. Will be doing something kinda cool, stay tuned (comp http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/180/551408.page)

YO DAKKA. Been working on the ten tactical marines. basicaly done, the eyes are a PLACEHOLDER though not much I can think of adding except textures and paints to the base. Also finished the body of the landraider (damn sponsons) . ANNND the ten man vanguard all have primed legs and scenic bases you may see there are many mould lines on the minis. this is because I got them for approximately 5 dollars from a friend, assuming the 2 Ml's and sargeant and flamer and bits cost bit more. I just did not care enough to deal with them :( . Also with my somewhat limited time I would have only now laid the basecoat if I spent it scraping. But vannies will be treated good I promise. Brother Ajax Former 3rd company standard bearer Vanguard vets... this isn't even their final form EDIT: this is great for inspiration http://www.weebls-stuff.com/songs/Narwhals/ TTFN comments appreciated

Dont think I have the authority to wake an anciet yet, though I have been itching to buy a dread, my local hobby store has none in stock (they just get new releases), and Its a long way to the local geedubs. But that is definitely next. I think I'll get a vnrerable one cuz no one minds it being used as a regular one or even an ironclad sometimes. Also, minor status update. put the finishing touches on an old sargeant of mine, basecoated 10 chest aquilas for the assault squad, and started up my dark angels again with the plasmacannoneer. He looks realy good actualy. Pics either late today or tomorow. I also basecoated/washed/drytbrushed/highlighted a bunch of other stuff but the primer fumes have erased my memory XD. EDITS: SPELLING ERRORS EVERYWHERE! Automatically Appended Next Post: also i dont have the codex yet so I wont be assembling the vannies yet. see spoiler for possible remedy if you realy wana see them out; otherwise, nada for now.

Mold lines are visible on the PC. It might just be the light and the angle that makes then stand out in the first pic, but they drew my eye, so I'm mentioning it. Seems like all the cleaning up you do, you can still notice them.
Looks like you could use a touch up pass with the green on the shoulders. Some red/white bits look to have strayed from where they belong.
You interpret the things coming off the backpack as copper tubes, I paint them like wires. Either way, I'd hit them with a black wash. Not sure what to do about those bubbles. Why is the back plate glowing blue? It makes for some contrast on the mini, but I always assumed all the hot action took place in the gun itself, not the pack. Just a personal preference on how I paint them.
For a couple of hours of work, that's a very nice mini. A lot of the issues are just minor, and mostly just noticeable due to harsh lighting and the macro-zoom of the camera. I follow the "Arm's Length" rule for most troops. They are designed to be viewed on the table, not under a microscope

You know my work, I'm a fan of painting wires as colorful as I can, that's my main critique I feel they help breaking the "monotony" of a color scheme. He looks pretty darn good for a quick job but I would edge highlight the plasma cannon a bit more with a lighter red.
That weapon as so many edges, they are screaming for some "love" to make it really "pop".
And Mondays are NEVER happy ... *groan*
