As a Space Wolf player, my Terminators only shoot. Slow N Purposeful can stay the hell away.

Speed is one thing , but how do they move on normal ground. They aren't tracked tanks , but sure weight like some . On anything that isn't reinforced they should be sinking in to the ground .

Cant terminators also do back flips? Or did i imagine that?

Well, in zero-G it might work

A back flip (in terms of corect gymnastics terminology) might be impossible as it requires the hands to be raised straight over the shoulder and i think the shoulder pads would prevent this movement. A back somersault, however, is definately possible. The armour might be heavy but it has a larger proportion of motive fibre bundles and additional exoskeleton joint motors so it should move pretty much as if the wearer is unencumbered. With marines being faster and stronger than normal humans along with the suit boosts terminators should be able to do almost everything that normal PA and even unarmoured people can do, within the movement range of the armour joints.

But with all the extra strenght wouldn't a terminator just dig itself in to the ground while trying to do back flip ? I mean we are talking here about an hippo sized down to human size and with just two legs.

If you want a reason for Terminators move at that speed, I imagine they get up momentum as they move - they start moving, pick up a bit of speed, and then god help whatever they crash into.

Kinda like the Juggernaut in the X-men movies, but with less Vinnie Jones.

Its probably a balance thing. Terminators and other such models are usually hard to get around, so unless theyre a gun platform (which is unlikely) they tend to just be a bullet magnet for a turn or two.

I mean, think about it. If they only moved 4" for instance it would render them utterly useless as they would NEVER reach an assault unless they came out of a landraider for a 10" movement (6 + 4, since it would also screw with disembarking rules).

SnP suffers enough by not being able to run, at least Termies dont have that problem. If Termies moved less than 6" due their size i bet any model with SnP would be slower still (my poor MANz would be useless lol)

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

So am I. I was referring to overwatch which should only be happening after you've popped your combi weapons and a couple of Bolter shots that hit on 6s per model isn't a huge difference. Losing overwatch hurts only if you can really do something with it, like a Broadside with 4 twin linked strength 7 shots or a Centurion with 6 strength 5 shots. Offensively the shooting of the terminator is going to be just fine.

Why isn't anyone mentioning why the terminators can assault 12"? 13" with the right warlord trait?

Obviously on those days the Termis just underwent a Rocky training montage.
