Can raven guard shadow captain shrike take assault marines as troops?

Currently no. Nothing in his rules mentions making Assault Marines into Troops.

However, a new Codex: Space Marines is just around the corner, and is quite likely to include special rules for Raven Guard armies (of which, Assault Marines as troops may well be a part), possibly as a Supplement.

He doesn't make ASM troops in the new book....nothing does.

Lets hope so poor blood angels space marines are taking everything off them :(

Depending on your local groups leniency, the Fw raven guard character does make them troops.

His rules can be found in imperial armour 8.

I'm currently considering him, for my blood angels, depending what happens with the new marine codex. Going to convert him from lord executioner model with a thunder hammer, or astorath with a thunder hammer.

A quick run down of his rules, you have to take a squad of scouts, all jump packs get hit and run, you can take scoring vanguard or troops assualt marines I believe. That's from memory though so don't quote me too much. He also cost less than a captain with a jump pack and thunder hammer from the ba codex.

I used Korvydae and having assault squads as troops and liberated your fast slot free for speeders, bikes and stormtalons gave you some crazy list. With the new codex, people will said korvydae is overpower.

Though many people have already chimed in, the simply answer all along was, "check your Codex."

How do you know that?

Look at the rumor threads, most of the SM rules are now known.

Fair enough. Best wait until the new Codex is out before asking questions in Tactics then, though News & Rumours should give you some ideas.
