Hi guys, what colors and techniques do you use for painting ork skin with the new range? I've found a heap of older painting guides but the colors tend not to match up properly. What colors work best purely out of the new range that isn't the GW official color recipe?

I am just getting back into the hobby after a 5 year hiatus, and I am running into a similar issue. The paints I had for my old ork flesh scheme dried up for the most part, and when I went to my local comic shop to buy new ones, I discovered the whole new range of citadel paints had come out. So, I am starting with the Waaagh! Flesh color as a basecoat over grey primer and going up from there. When I get some arms done for these shoota boyz, I will post my experiences with them, photos, see what you think!

Use the conversion chart to match your old colors for new: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2320032a_Citadel_Conversion_Chart
They are not 100% identical, but it generally works for most color schemes.

Disassembled Parts Inside a Talos

Prime Black
Basecoat WAAAGH Flesh, wash Nuln Oil
Warboss Green in all but the recesses
4:1:1 mix of Warboss Green, Yriel Yellow, and Ushabti (Is that how it's spelled?) Bone on the raised bits
2:1:1 mix of Warboss Green, Yriel Yellow, and Ushabti Bone as first highlight
Pure Bleaced bone on only the HIGHEST areas.
S'wroked well for me in the past as I like paler, more warmed skinned orks, hope this helps!

Prime black
WAAAGH Flesh
Biel Tien Green wash
Warboss Green
Moot Green
Gives a bit of a "brighter" coloring to the skin, and helps contrast it with the darker washes, finishes I use on the clothes and metal

Here's the official GW version.
Basecoat Waagh Flesh.
Layer Warboss Green over it, avoiding only the recesses.
Wash Biel-Tan Green
Highlight with Warboss Green. This is a reasonably contrasty look, but you might well want to customise, by mixing bone in for a fine highlight.

Or alternatively you can base them yellow with a bright yellow highlight and wash using the green wash that gives a very nice finish. If you search yellow orks I believe it comes up. Automatically Appended Next Post: Found the tutorial

Ya see the problem in my eyes with all this is you get a whole lot of orks that all look the same...
Some people like it i guess.
I don't.
Just look around at all the people that you know...and answer this how many of them have the same color skin you do...
I make my ork skin tones using every single one of the green color range some w/ more wash than others some w/ brighter highlights than others and I like my results.
Just go with it and find what you like best.
If ya want some ideas, look at my gallery
