One of the funniest articles on the internet is the Transformers wiki's highly satirical self deprecating stab at the Transformers Fandom's knee jerk tendency to declare even the smallest change (and staying the same) as the apocalyptic harbinger of the Franchise's end. As demonstrated here.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ruined_FOREVER

Which was then copied by the Star wars fandom

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wookieepedia:Ruined_FOREVER

And the Halo fandom

http://halofanon.wikia.com/wiki/Halo:_Ruined_FOREVER

And TV tropes

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/DarthWiki/RuinedFOREVER?from=Main.RuinedFOREVER

But we all know that us 40kers can be every bit as Knee jerky and whiny as any Haloite, Transfan, Warsie or Troper. So how should we make the biggest self deprecating stab at our own fandom and make fun of our tendency to declare that 40k is RUINED FOREVER when anything ever happens?

Someone starts a thread more or less every 15 minutes in Dakka Discussions on the subject. That would be an excellent source to research.

I would just put "40K".

No matter what GW does, someone's crying "APOPACYPS!".

Well that's the first joke for each of the three pages methinks.

The thing is released, retroactively ruining it forever.

I'm pretty sure some people cried about the release of rogue trader retroactively RUINING 40K FOREVER too.

I'd just scan the 3rd Edition rulebook and post it online.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Well, in the format demonstrated in the three examples.

How to mock ourselves by making a big list of all the things we lost our crap over and how to make our own version of the famous "two bricks tied by tissue paper".

Just one of many things our fandom has cried about being the end of the franchise since the rogue trader era.

...Which I just HAD to slap once again. I can understand Storm Ravens (there's no accurate amount of flier blueprints the Mechanicum is hiding behind the other offices of the Imperium), Vanguard/Sternguard Veterans(some Chapters could have split their veterans with such way), the new Rhino-variants (Hunter/Stalker - a new reclaimed set of STC:s)...

...But NOT those chubby "YO DAWG!" things! Yes, there's tons of other stuff behind that was unacceptable for older players, we all wish to let off some steam once in a while. I apologise for a rant, but my veins are popping every time I see those chubs.

You're absolutely right, but that doesn't calm me down

It was made by Transformers fans to make fun of their own fandom, then copied by Star wars and Halo to do the same.

4chan was never involved.

I heavily believe in self deprecation as a form of humor.

What's wrong with poking fun at your own fandom?

I fully acknowledge that my fellow homestuckers are *waaaay* overboard on shipping (so am I but shhh)

And I think it's fairly transparently obvious that me and my fellow 40kers are an extremely whiny bunch who complain about every move made.

Typical ruined forever moment:

New Giant walkers (with new rules).

New Aircraft (with new rules).

New Gravity weapons (with new rules).

New chubby marines (not sure if new rules).

New fortifications as part of 40k (with specific rules).

New "special" codex rules (tau supporting snap fire....)

Any change at all... I am comfy in my supreme knowledge, learning something new I will fight to the bitter end!!!!

I bet some people cried when 40k was invented as a concept for ruining 40k as a concept
