Im joining the necron band wagon
I started my necron army with a battle force and i use everything from it.. ghost arks are great, doomsday arks are fun
you need warriors,
you need immortal,
scarabs have their uses...
I see everyone saying you only need 1 but i would say 2
2 gives you enough warriors, a full squad of immortals and 2 ghost arks... perfect!

When you say best battleforce do you mean best because of the options you get in the box or best for price?

For me the "best " would be Space wolves. If you compare what your getting to price you save about £20 and get 20 Marines 5 scouts and a pod.....

if you want best for army I personally would wait for the new SM's to be released before making a concrete choice

Necrons. Lots of alternative builds and just a HQ short of being a playable army.

Best meaning one that is worth buying over and over due to all the minis being useful in most armies one might build.

Select any additional unit - wraiths, stalkers, night scythes, spyders - you'll still need a lot of the stuff in the battleforces.

for re-usable models? Wolves again the majority of competitive lists are drop pod based and the grey hunters kits are so versatile that you can make pretty much anything you want with it
