So, who is this Clay guy and why is he so bound and determined to defend Mandlebaum? And why does Alan post as though English is not his native language?

I believe Clay is just fooled into believing the community is out for blood against an innocent person. Despite the amount of evidence against Alan.

As far as english. DM claims to be only fluent in english, but his wife is fluent in Spanish and French. I'd be willing to guess DM is also fluent in at least spanish.
It may also be just bad grammar online. I wouldn't read into that to much though, as I know sometimes I look like english isn't my native language as well.

I took it as he types more furiously the more agitated he gets, hence more typos and stream of consciousness type posts..

I sent her a message directly. I hope she responds. I'm curious why she defends him. I get deleting some of the things but at least the general warning should be allowed to stay.

You know, if Alan was determined to verify his identity, he could always reach out the Aerethan. Granted that would just prove that it is still DM.

I'm quite willing to drive up to Long Beach, or LA, or wtf ever he is claiming he's at to verify that he's not Daniel.

At this point, he would be well served to just produce evidence that the Alan Welson thing is legit and make "Dakka" look like donkey-caves.

The whole insistence on referring to Dakka Dakka as "Dakka", and as if it were some monolithic, singular entity is again... familiar.

I lurk on Sami's page too. I don't think she's snowed by him, but is fine (will tolerate) him or anyone else as long as it's straight hobby. Not scamming. Not flame-warring. Just posting pics, commenting, offering tips. As long as he does that, she'll let him stick around. For my two cents, and I have no real investment in the matter, there are uncanny resemblances with Alan's argumentation and DM's through the Resin Forge debacle.

Yes they are expensive, but the impression I got was that he was planning to send the design off to have it printed third party, which isn't as expensive.

Incorrect. Printing that titan would be insanely expensive, 3rd party or not. Well over the 200-300 he was asking. It would have also taken quite a while. I got this straight from Big Bad himself, and am also basing this off my own experience with Shapeways and a few other places, as well as photoresin costs which are absolutely insane.

There is also the small problem of not having the files in the first place lol.

But would the sum of all the prints cost more than buying a printer capable of printing the file if he had it? I'm not much informed exactly on the 3d printing process.

Yes, they would for consumer level stuff, no they wouldn't for industrial. There is also the time involved to print. It takes forever... cueing this at shapeways would probably take about 6 weeks, paying a mental amount for a 1-1 service would still be a week or two at the least.

You don't just fart out 3 of them on a whim and inside of a week lol.

I've been following this for a while now since I was linked to this thread, Plus, I think I've been part of that fansite group on facebook a while now, so I can attest to Sami not ostriching. She generally just doesn't like drama on her page. Her page is all about modeling, painting, and the hobby in general.

She won't even allow rules discussion, price discussion, etc.

We all know it's Daniel Mandelbaum by now, yet Alan Welson continues to affirm he isn't. If those Census records are accurate, then Sami should be alerted to a fake account on her page.

I'm half tempted to message her myself, but I feel like my plea would simply fall on deaf ears... :/

Also, did a little digging, the Black Crusade Studio was founded in March of 2012... At least that's what FB says... and then No profile Pic until May 27th, 2013...and posting didn't actually start until the beginning of August 2013... I'm inclined to believe DM had planned this out all the way back in 2012... So, possibly, he could have another proxy page set up so he can abandon BCS and move over there to begin again, only this time, he got caught early before he could actually try to get some positive reviews with fake product.

Besides acting exactly like DM, do we have any other damning evidence? He claims to have emailed Big bad, so idk... he won't post the transcript on the FB page for proof, and he still refuses to clear his name by having others attest to who he is.

Personally, I think beyond a reasonable doubt, it's DM...

The only reason I liked his page to begin with was because I liked the image of the Warhound he was claiming to sell. I'm glad I was plum broke when I saw it or else I might have done something stupid...lol.

Personally, I think Sami should allow the disclaimers out there to warn the community, she lets other people post warnings about recasts, why would this be any different? He's scamming people out of their money and not delivering a product that he's legally allowed to deliver.

Idk... but I am appalled at the Blind Zealotry defending Alan/Daniel... Vigilance and Relentlessness are the key to finally taking this guy down...

Just want to point out that this is very possible. I work as a Govt contractor and we have some really odd web restrictions. For example, I can be on Dakka Dakka but not BOLS (because BOLS is a forum annnnnd apparently dakka is.. not? ). BCS showed up the second RF folded, I know it is Mandelbaum, so there really isn't any mystery to me. It all fits, all of it. Barring what I have seen with my own eyes in terms of the evidence I can't disclose other than to say I have seen it, everything else, absolutely everything else does absolutely nothing to deter me from thinking it is him. It is Mandelbaum, head to toe, in all ways, shapes and form. Being somewhat of an expert at this point, every thing he does, from the models to the tactics to the writing to the strategy just drips with his fingerprints and stench.

To the FB page and Sami... well, it's her page, she can do as she likes and I respect her right to control it as she see's fit. That being said, I would appeal to her with simple logic. If you accept it is Mandelbaum, or even if you are disturbed by the allegations, bear out the purpose of his activity:

He is targetting high traffic groups and was posting sales there, but now 'just his work'. But even if he isn't explicitely selling in that group, what is the net result? Any person clicking his images or examining his profile will quickly be led back to the BCS site. Any person who even remotely doubts the allegations and evidence against him is befriended. He needs his supporters. Once they are connected to his account or page, then they are now in his potential victim pool, and, you can bet your bottom dollar once he feels he has enough real people, and not bought likes, eyeballing his page again, people he brought in from the outside that are skeptical of all the drama, he WILL start selling again. It may be in the open, it may be via his new preferred Pm only method. But he will start selling again. Then, these people, or at least the later groups of them, will become victims, and he will disappear to start the cycle again.

Everything he is doing, EVERYTHING, is to get victims through the door, and to sniff out which ones will be easier to dupe, or will whiteknight him to draw in others. He is running a scam. He is ALWAYS running a scam, non-stop, since 2009. and there is absolutely nothing, nothing at all, to indicate he is going to stop.

So, despite not wanting to have any drama on her page, just letting that man post there at all is exposing her group to massive trouble and he is there in nothing but a predatory capacity. There is nothing to be gained but danger letting him be a member. Sami needs to realize that by doing nothing she is in fact doing something detrimental. Her group has nothing to gain by his presence and lots to lose, it's a no-win scenario. At best, nothing will happen but the hassle of the drama he brings. At worst, theft and scamming.

At the same time though I feel quite strongly she is making a tactical and perhaps arguably ethical mistake, it is hers to make. I would ask you guys not to harass the page or bombard Mandelbaum with joking, aggressive or inflamatory posts there either. If you do make the choice to confront him, you must do so knowing the consequences that your post will be deleted and you will be banned from the page, and knowing you are causing hassle for her and frustration. If you still feel it worth it to post, at least be classy and respectful to her while doing so. You don't need to attack him to show he is a liar, simple, rational and polite questions alone can do that. If you think you may be able to sway her to the danger, maybe pm her, but put it in the title what it is about so if she chooses not to deal with it she can delete it without having to read too much. It's only fair.

I do hope though she may find her way to this post and take it as a genuine, honest, and most importantly experienced appraisal of the danger 'Alan Weslon' represents to her members. Other than that, she has my best wishes and respect for her right to make her own choice.

Truth. I have a very good buddy into 3-D printing and BEFORE this was declared a scam I was confronted By alan about him printing them up. I asked my friend (who shall remain nameless unless its really needed) what we were looking at as far as pricing on a warhound titan printout. His reply was "Thousands" with his machine PLUS time to do it, and the ONLY way to break even would be to cast it in resin and sell off the kits. I am not going to defend or accuse anyone of anything. I am a Former Federal Officer (in DC area and until my recent move to Alabama) and I am very accustomed to letting Facts speak. If Alan tried or did scam people he will be in serious trouble. If he was wrongfully duped by a client I would have hoped it would have already come to light but it will if true. I do not know if he is Daniel Mandelbaum or not, but I have dealt with Daniel Mandelbaum Personally before and I have my personal opinion about this scenario. I DO see how people are making similarities between the actions of Alan and Daniel. I will not accuse him of being Daniel without proof though. I Do want to watch how this plays out though as I am interested and apparently pretty well ingrained into Daniel/Alan Drama as both have used me as a contact right at the time a scandal surfaced which I am not happy about in the least.

NOW with the License and Business "facts" part I will speak of my personal wargames business and how this affects me. I own Munkey Joe Paints and Casts. I started this business in about 2003 when I accepted commissions and casting for others. I do not have a business number and I do not have a business address other than my personal address. I do less than the minimum reporting amount in income ( of $1k I think) therefore I am not required to report the income to the IRS. I also know unscrupulous persons who deal in cash and western union only to avoid IRS reporting. not having a number nor reporting income to the IRS does not mean you are a fake as I have had several vouch for me that I am in fact real. My Casting company Facebook page was made May 7th 2013. I have been doing things LONG before then and never made a facebook page. In fact I ONLY made a page because Lester Bursley from Awesome Paint Job asked me to make one so he could promote it as payment for me making some bases for his titan commission. so the fact my FB was made 10 years after my company was founded is not solid proof Im a fake either.

NOW I am sure Dakka guys have their proof that supports their claims. I am not saying I have seen it BUT Im sure something exists for them to make the claims they are making or else there would be some legal issues. the Staff here seems to have the same mindset I do and deals with facts. I will go on the record as saying I have never been scammed by Alan OR Daniel and I personally have nothing bad to say about them other than Daniel has horrible casting skills (why he contacted me originally) and had a habit of going long stretches with no contact. I have not had the same problems with Alan and I still talk to him and Im really trying to convince him to show some sort of proof that he is Legit or he faces being branded as a scammer Whether he is or not. I will close this wall of text by saying the Facts shall be the truth, and unless you strip all the feelings from this and look at hard facts its all opinion. Im sure there are facts, and each side will have to prove their stance of guilt or innocence. Alan needs to prove his case soon to be vindicated because the Dakka team has their stuff in order I am sure.

Alan/Daniel glosses over important points about "innocent until proved guilty".

1. It applies in criminal trials. Civil trials and the "court of public opinion" have lower standards.

2. The accused needs to defend himself, not just accuse his accusers of being malicious.

Joe, you've got to wonder at this point... why won't 'Alan' provide simple, non-personal evidence he himself stated he had in hand (the warhound 3D files) and just make all his accusers, myself in particular, look like complete idiots? He has everything to gain and nothing to lose. Does this make sense to you in any way?

Also, I just want to make clear, again, that there is no 'Dakka' or 'staff' when it comes to this matter. I am acting and posting in here on my own behalf, not the site, as are the other mods who choose to participate. There is no 'official' Dakka stance on this matter other than possibly Daniel Mandelbaum is to be avoided.

Last, if you are a former federal officer and you think this is a serious matter... we need your help. There is overwhelming, incontrivertable evidence that Mandelbaum has commited theft and fraud on multiple occasions over the past 4 years, including mail fraud, false information, harrasment, ponzi schemes, aliases and unregistered businesses. I can't cough up the definitive evidence this time which trust me, sucks, but I have to take the long-view. However, past incidents are ridiculously well documented, public and incontrivertable.

The truth of the matter is, loathe as I am to admit, law enforcement doesn't seem to care about this. They see an individual claim for ~1k or less, and hear 'toy soldiers', and they pass it over as small potatoes. No one thus far has taken a serious look at this very serious situation. This guy isn't going away. He absolutely will not give up trying to steal from this community. He needs to face real world consequences for his criminal activity, and those consequences need to come from the correct authorities obviously and nowhere else.

This guy has found a little niche where he he knows he will get away with things, he knows he has been reported and he knows what the answer was. That is why he is so bold and relentless, it's just money on a tree to him.

So, since you would seem to be connected, and you acknowledge the crimes are serious, is there anything you can do to help get this person and the evidence looked at by someone who will take it in as a whole and also not be deterred or dismissive because it involves 'toys'?

Otherwise, we are just treading water here to be honest. Putting a lot of effort and time into protecting people from moment to moment, but never being able to shut down the threat. I am sick to death of watching for him, and also sick of having to make vague allegations instead of just throwing out what lying piece of work he is without worrying about next time.
