Sami is IIRC from Oz, possibly a real person with real life needs like sleep and social engagements (unlike Danial who can be on 23/7) that might possibly keep her from facebook for days at a time...

Also this, for anyone who is being harassed by Daniel with phone calls. Please file with your police, with the below information and the police report attached to this post, it should take something like 30 minutes. Easy, and will put a stop to his making harassing / threatening phone calls to various people:

I have also attached to this message a PDF of a complaint with incident number that Daniel filed about "disturbing posts on the internet" in May with his local police. This lists an incident number, Daniel's address, and a number for the officer involved. It should be very easy for them to get in touch with the Dallas PD regarding him using this.

Note that the address should read "McCallum Blvd". The "Blvd" was left off on the report attached below.

multiple low value cases brought to the police never work. Now if EVERYONE pooled together and tried to bring forward one single thought out and detailed charge then it might be a different story

He pled guilty to a very minor charge that is nothing to do with fraud, so I don't think it is relevant.

There can't be many of us with completely clean consciences, when all is told.

If individual users of DakkaDakka have sent hate mail, that is something they did outside of the forum. The forum proprietors and moderators deplore that action but have no control over it. Speaking with my Mod hat on, we certainly do not encourage it.

Anyone with internet access can create a GMail account, use it to create a Facebook account and use that to put messages on Sami's or on Mandelbaum's Facebook page. Mandelbaum could do it himself.

Anyone can send a message and say they are a member of DakkaDakka or another forum. It doesn't prove anything.

I wonder if this new revival is him calling out a bluff to those against him. Consider all the hype that Resin Forge got; now granted it basically shut RF down; however nothing actually happened. He had bad publicity but really nothing more.

Even when he phones and harasses people nothing really ever gets back to actually bite him. As a result he likely thinks he can keep going; keep running the site and no matter the publicity he can keep trying to snare one or two people here and there. If he keeps up with some honest trades during those times he could start to rebuild again - kept up for long enough he could rebuild a minor reputation and the longer that went on the more "rabid" those against him would seem.

I think he's twigged that the police appear not interested in him; heck the only police action thus far (that I can recall reading) has been the actions he took out himself with the police. So from his point of view it could seem that those against him are all breath and no action; and with no ability to actually cause trouble for him he's likely feeling fairly strong in his position. Sure he's got the bad publicity side; but he doesn't need mass market; just a handful of customers.

RF relaunching could also be a smokescreen, but considering how he's apparently getting back into personal insults and phoning people up again I don't think he's the time or the real inclination to be starting another site or project at the moment.

Yes, you could be right.

However, he has now provoked several people into making police complaints against him for harassment, and his police record, home address and father's business address have been made public. They were all in the public domain already, but had not been previously been mentioned on DakkaDakka. He has also been caught out in another set of identity lies.

All in all, if this is intended merely to provide Mandelbaum with trolling jollies, he may have stirred up too much of a hornet's nest.

More specifically, and as pointed out by Major Tom, someone sending a message and saying they are a member of DakkaDakka is not the same thing as receiving a message from DakkaDakka, just as talking to someone in a shopping mall food court is not the same thing as talking to the management of the shopping centre. DakkaDakka is a venue, not a collective hive mind. If someone has received emails from someone who frequents Dakka, then they have received emails from someone who posts on Dakka, not from Dakka.


Although I would point out that someone sending hatemail is unlikely to introduce themselves as 'Bob from Dakka'... And multiple people from multiple forums introducing themselves in that fashion is even more unlikely. This part, I agree with. Which is why I made the post above for anyone he is harassing over the phone to easily give his information to the police. The police actually do care and act in these instances. You just have to give them a chance to do so, which means reporting it. There is absolutely zero downside to doing so, and quite a large upside... ie, a restraining order against Daniel Mandelbaum so that if he calls you again he really will be in trouble with the law.

It would be helpful to everyone if those who he is harassing would report it to their local police.

And this thread pretty much sums up why I refuse to deal with 3rd party sellers of stuff online, there are just too many scams to even take that risk.

I noticed that two of my friends who are active painters / bloggers had been 'friended' by DCF today - warned them both of his antics - they're both really nice people who didn't realise that DCf was Mandlebonder.
Yet again he tries to legitimise his scams by using the reputation of others.

Guys (and girls), we are talking about DANIEL MANDELBAUM here. He has already claimed hate mails so often, he has claimed death threats, he has even accused me personally of single-handedly make the webpage of his lawyer consultants disappear from the Internet within a matter of hours. WITHOUT ONCE PROVIDING A SINGLE SCRAP OF BACKUP EVIDENCE! He's Mandelbaum, get over it, there were no hate mails. And if NOW (after I mention it) he will suddenly come up with a "proof email" chances are extremely high that he just typed it himself (as happened previously.

Heck, you should all expect very soon that I am accused of hacking his bank accounts and using his credit cards or social security number to actually impersonate him because I "hate Jews"! You know it happened before.

Hey guys I just got up for the day. Long wekend at Clash for a Cure (Took a bronze )

I will be filing with the Dallas PD. I wanted to check out a game store in Dallas today or tomorrow anyway so conveniently I will already be out there.

Since I don't have a printer, I have put the PDF and screen caps onto a flash drive which I will take with me as well as my phone with the log of calls from DM.

I will file a restraining order and possibly harassment charges. We'll see. My roommates buddy is an officer at the Dallas PD, so I'll be contacting him as well.

DCF = Daniel Charlie Frank, one of his newest aliases, for those who are not keeping tabs on this as frequently.

I'm trying really, really hard not to feel a sense of schadenfreude right now. But I just can't help it!

I went into this whole thread with a 'popcorn' feel. When I heard he was pretending to be other people, I chuckled. When I heard he scammed people out of money, I went "...well that sucks." Then I got to the point where he was impersonating his mother, the cancer thing, and... wow. No more popcorn. Now I'm seeing all the actual 'real world' harassment he's doing. Trying to get someone fired? What the hell?

From an outsider's perspective, saying "This guy is pretending to make fake toy soldiers" is a lot different than "This man has sent me physical threats and harassed my employer in an attempt to get me fired." When you're talking to someone that hasn't delved into the whole story (and delving is a good word for the depth that all this goes), linking a thread that at first brush seems like it'll be full of hearsay and conspiracy theories doesn't do it justice. Put out the nasty stuff right away and people will take it more seriously.

I really hope this guy gets what's coming to him from the legal system. Sorry the people posting here had to go through some of that $*#$.

Also, if anyone is actually sending him hate mail, you're just fueling the fire. To the people that are collecting actual evidence in the form of phone logs and threatening e-mails, I wish you the best of luck and would help if there's a way. I've not been personally involved in any of this though, and have no useful info to add in terms of procedures or where to go and what to get and the like.

AJ - after the crap he's thrown around tonight, please please PLEASE go to the cops - he needs to be told that he can't just harass people at whim without consequence.

Don't worry Art. I will be going to the police with the information we have gathered on him and for the phone calls and harassment.

Searching his dad "Michael G Mandelbaum" on the link below yields some interesting results. Eight arrests with six dismissals and two quashes.

Charges include sale of controlled substances, harassment and telephone harassment. Hmmm, where have we see these kinds of activities recently?
