Like Michael Mandelbaum.
I'm not wanting people to take this the wrong way, but given some of the intemperant language contained within these threads and within the screen captured exchanges from Facebook et al, people might want to consider how the police will view things. As has been mentioned this is a matter of toy soldiers to them, and when addresses and telephone numbers get published online (which may or may not have in the past/or perhaps in the future lead to unfortunate actions), they might well not see matters in the way as those who feel justifiably outraged.
It should also be noted that there has been unfortunate language used with regard to issues of mental health. And while I take on board the whole free speech thing, the world is a big place and some of the comments may well be seen as hate speech and viewed in a criminal light - which may not have consequences for those making the remarks but may well have implications for the publisher.

I do not believe that Dakka has published his address or phone # though? A link to a public police report is a link to info released by the authorities, not a release of our own.
Dakka has not allowed his phone # or address to be posted to my knowledge. If we have missed anything please alert the offending post.

I keep seeing people asking for the business registration number, but does he really need one? He's not running a physical storefront that people come to, AFAIK. He's just selling stuff from his house. I mean, unless I'm totally missing something, that would mean that everyone that sells stuff on eBay would need to get their business registered.
Not trying to defend him, but I'm honestly just a little confused.

This came up in the last thread, businesses that are legal businesses that pay taxes on their sales must have a registered business number that is on display at their place of business. If they are an online only business, then they must at least have it on file at their residence.

If they are an online only business, then they must at least have it on file at their residence. Weird. A ton of people I know sell stuff online/do commission work, pay all the taxes they need to, and have even asked the people in charge of all of this, and they've never been told to register/had any legal trouble. Maybe it just works differently in MO? ~Tim?

Doing it as a buisness gives you the benefit of "isolating" you from the market. If your business goes bankrupt, it doesn't mean your own self with everything you own gets dragged into it as well, so if you do it that way, yeah, you'd need a business license. Commision work is pretty easy to do, and very hard to screw up. Your only real cost is time, and most people do it under the table to earn a couple bucks. Once you hit BTP level of comission service..... business license.

seconded. I could make an anecdotal reference, but the auditor is forced to look at only what's required by law/regulation. It doesn't matter to the auditor if they clearly and visibly see that there's something wrong afoot, and that the auditor should intervene for the benefit of the public, the obligation to look at a narrow set of facts means that often, a party running a shady gig can get off the hook without repercussions.

Yes. The Texas Business & Commerce Code sections 71.201, 71.202 provide for civil and criminal penalties for noncompliance with the assumed name provisions of Chapter 71.

It's inevitable, and understandable, that new people will come in and ask
1. Did you think of reporting him to XY or Z
2. He could do X Y or Z to hide, get away with, etc
3. Be devil's advocates, neutral parties etc.
I get it... but it is exhausting at times... 3-4 years into this mess and with 100's of pages in many, many threads... most things have been gone over and then gone over again. And then again lol.
In any case, at the end of the day it is up to actual victims to come forward in order for anything to happen. They have to be persistent, and, preferably, they have to be together.
Fortunately, he has provided ample reason in the past few days for quite a few people to report him to the Police for harassment and stalking both at home and at work. He says we stalk him... we just keep an eye out for his scams and he always pops up. He looks for peoples personal information and wants to mess with their lives in ways that have absolutely nothing to do with minis, just because he is a spiteful little troll and nothing more.
He is a guy who you catch trying to break into your car to steal it red-handed, and then he yells at YOU for interrupting him lol. Then he says you set him up. Then he starts crying or calls his dad. Then he suddenly stops crying and starts making conversation with you completely ignoring he got caught trying to steal your car, and acting very puzzled or changing the subject if you mention it. Then he gets angry and demand you prove it that he tried to steal your car. Then he threatens to call the police because you are harassing him. All while he is still in your driveway sat in the drivers seat of your car with a handful of wires.
That is Mandelbaum. You can't make this crap up lol.

File the complaints. The next time he sends a cease and desist letter you have a filed complaint and can refer his lawyer to the complaint and contact the Police and FBI to look into it because he is threatening legal action. It would give you more room to stand on. I don't care one way or the other - I wasn't taken by the guy so I have no dog in the fight. its state by state but every state has a division of corporations. I know in florida you can look up any business name and find out the owners ( www.sunbiz.org). I'm sure Texas has something similar, I just don't want to take the time to do it because its not that important to me. Actually thats copy paste from the Texas Division of Corporations - the question is, "I am using an assumed name, but I have not made the proper filings at the state or county levels. Are there any penalties?"

Another thing I wanted to get off my chest while it was on my mind... sometimes I find we ourselves kinda accept 'ha ha toy soldiers/not serious' as something understandable on the authorities part. Toy soldiers has nothing to do with it... it's a tiny, and ultimately inconsequential footnote in the story of the problem.
If I was someone he was calling at home or at work, I would do everything I could to leave the product out of it.
I would tell the cops, listen, forget the window dressing of the setting, and hear me 100% clearly. This guy is harassing my family and my work place. He is making threats. He is calling at all hours and changing his numbers. I don't care if it all started at a barbie doll convention, I am under siege by a stalker here and you guys need to start taking this guy seriously, mark my words, he is not right and getting worse, and I want him out of my life. Now I would like to hear a very, very serious response about what I can do about this, it has been years and it is now urgent.
Don't let them be dismissive of it. Don't even bother with the 'toy soldiers' bit, tell them it was in the context of 'very expensive military models'. Even then, to me, that should come up once with the cop, and everything else should be focused on the very real harassment and stalking. The models are completely irrelevant to that right?
Maybe the people who have called have already been super forceful in exactly the way I describe... I just can't imagine they will dismiss the new reports as easily as the fraud ones...

Don't give me and my ilk a bad name. Some of my best friends are auditors too. Although we typcially look for things that are out of place that would indicate a problem... especially low hanging fruit if the guy was that easy to pin.

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!
"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

SO, my posts on the Fansite page have been deleted by one of the admins, for the following reasons:

Hi Elliot.
I am aware there is somethin a little fishy going on with the two Daniels who have appeared on the page.
They appear to be trolling rather hard. But would you do me a favour and not react to it? It's fuelling the fire, and at the moment I'm not about to ban them straight away yet
Because I haven't heard from Sami yet you see
If she genuinely wants the guy on the page that's her own perogative.
I'm trying very hard to get her to realise it's most likely someone just trying to stir gak. But in the mean time if you can let the gak slide a little, the dill weed will spend less time polluting our page with gak.
SO basically I think they simply don't quite understand what they are dealing with....

He's also tagging painters in his pictures that he doesn't know again - Dave's called him on it before I could.

HEADS UP GUYS
as of 20 mins ago the Daniel Mandelbaum FB account posted a photo on the Fansite page. WHen you click on the photo, you can see its a Resin Forge post linked there. SO I think this concludes beyond doubt that it IS in fact him
That is no proof. If I understood correctly what you wanted to say. If I link to a post it doesn't mean I am the page.

And it seems I've now been marked as 'spam' by the ASFGW - after explaining what happened last night.

this is the full conversation i've had with an admin on the page

its not someone stiring gak. THis is a known scammer who ran several ponzi schemes that left people out of money and models. Its not trolling, you need to understand this. Its criminal activity. I'm not reacting to it, I'm trying to spread awareness amongst the community so that no more innocent people get hurt by him.

Elliot Yung
have you read the links on Dakka?
3:58pm
Allan Begolo-Wyatt
No, I'm talking about the accounts. Even if they are genuinely him they are just there to stir gak.
He's not promoting his resin forge site, he's just posting pictures. I don't think it's him, I think it's someone pretending to be him to stir gak, perhaps even it is actually gin stirring gak. Whatever it is, actively responding to it is just encouraging the fether.
4:21pm
Elliot Yung
It is him
Follows his usual modus operandi to a tee, in addition the pictures he posts are from RF, proving that he is running it

Allan Begolo-Wyatt
I just assumed that he was reposting stuff from the resin forge site to drum up chaos
The two fake looking accounts don't even have Resin Forge as a liked page
I also fail to see the point of the posts, as most of them don't link to Resin Forge
Just use it's photos

feth man
Anyone could post that on a fake page
There's no formal link
Please stop with the posts about the guy
Sami has been informed, but she's not at the computer at the moment. Please quit it, I've asked nicely.
