I don't know why they did it, but I assume its because they didn't want to turn anyone away. I remember originally when they said they would be able to handle 100. I'm sure they will be able to pound out a few more tables and make room for anyone they can.

For a 1st year even they seem to be doing remarkably well.

Are you scared of more players? We have room for 100 players. We realistically had a goal of 64 players. We aren't going to turn people away if we have room.

I own a gym and am a personal trainer, so its Golf Shorts and Polos 260+ days a year. Just throw on a light jacket for the to and fro. Gets some awfully strange looks from the people all bundled up when I'm getting my morning cup of coffee.

I really wish I could come up and play/hang out. I just cant make it up this weekend. I had something really special cooked up, but Ill guess Ill have to save it for Adepticon.....if Tyranids dont blow it out of the water. Have fun.....and for Gods sake dont let Tim Gorham win another GT, that guy has been unstoppable lately.

Too bad you can't make it Hans, I'd like to get by butt handed to me by your Necrons... again! Lol. I guess I'll have to settle for a potential Rematch with Tomb King.

I'd like to make Adepticon, but I'm currently 33 on the Waitlist, I'm hoping with a field of ~270, I'll be able to make it in.

That's not a daemon list you see in tournament play very often.

Do you know what was Matt Root's army?

Nope, it was certainly not a Daemon Army you'd expect to see. I faced him Game 4 and it came down to the wire, and he almost knocked me out of the top 16. I faced both Geer and Perkins in addition to two Screamerstars.

Here is Matt's List, I didn't get a chance to see any of his games, but it was posted above. http://www.torrentoffire.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Screen-Shot-2013-11-25-at-9.22.21-PM.png

Hmmmm....he and Tim Gorham runs practically the same list.

Interesting to see him with Res Orbs on both of his Destroyer Lords, just like I put them on mine. Lol.

Seems that in your meta, necrons are still going really strong. Wraithwing necrons are still top-notch and can give any army a run for their money.

His res orb saved him in multiple games. One game his lords got back up 6 times I believe.

Necrons are still very strong. With the right player they are tough for anyone.

I think it's more the meta has shifted back to them being good than them "still going really strong". With the massive push of Eldar and Tau wraith spam is back. The tricks best used against most taul and eldar have zero impact on a well run wraith list. So as people adjusted to Eldar and Tau the standard Necron list from early 6th is making it's comeback.

Yeah, that is why I give my D-lords ResOrbs. You actually need it against Tau and Eldar because they will put your D-lord down and they'll most likely do it multiple times. RO's are probably the reason why I haven't lost to Tau/Eldar yet with my crons. My unsaid rule-of-thumb is that if your lords can get up more than 50% of time, then you've got a good shot at beating them. If not, then you'll probably lose. So far, I've been frickin golden with them.

Naw, it's probably due to me preaching about my crons in my battle reports.

BTW, wraithwing necrons really never left. The people who play them know how good they really are. They're just running other armies/builds that will give them a little more challenge.

Played Matt's crons in game 2 with wave serpent spam. Solid list, and very quickly up in my face. Took down the warlord squad and thought turn two would see another squad drop, but his dice were good and mine were middle of the road. Real stand up guy though and it was a good game.

In truth, Jy2, you were a large factor in the Res Orbs. I hadn't taken them much previously, as I hadn't had much luck with them, but I didn't have anywhere else to spend 60 points (besides upgrading a warrior squad to immortals, which I was meh about), so I was inspired to try the res orbs after reading your battle reports.

Long story short, they were worth every single friggen point.

Res Orb was great in most games. The one game you are speaking of, my D-Lord basically just annoyed the hell out of my poor opponent by keeping his giant command bike squad of doom in combat and whittling him down in wounds. In the end, the D-lord was more a distraction then anything else in that game - it was the night scythes that won me nearly every game I had in the end (and the warriors inside, naturally).

Still, rolling 6 get-back-ups was pretty friggen funny.

I was very skeptical of how wraiths would perform against the 200+ shots a tau gunline could put out, as well as wave serpent spam - but they came through suprisingly well.

It sure as hell wouldn't have worked with only two wraith squads, though.

P.S. DON'T TAKE DEMONS ANYMORE BRAD, I TOLD YOU.

Wraithwing had some problems up here in Minnesota in our meta for a while - I decided to bring it back since Tau and Eldar now reign supreme, and I friggen despise shooty gunlines haha!

That was a helluva a good game man. I really enjoyed it - but boy, I was seriously questioning my decision to go second by the end of turn 1 with all the shooting you had haha !

Fortunately for me, my wraiths were able to hit the lines - just had some good saves that second turn. The night scythe backup helped as well, of course.
