What I think were some of the neatest miniatures from one of the most iconic video games are available again for those who have been looking for them.

They are finished like Rawcliffe pewter figures (polished with a black ink applied for contrast) and cost a bit more than I like to see, but they are still often sought after by painters, collectors and for the tough looking cyber demon. To put them in size perspective, the regular people are an old 25mm heroic scale, so a bit over an inch tall (shorter than current IG figures). The cyber demon though is about 2 inches tall.

They will be a limited release, and $200 is steep for 15 figures, but you do get a case, and the cyber demon goes for $75-100 on eBay...so, for those who are interested, it might be worth it.

Yeah, that does seem just a teeny bit ridiculous!!
$200 for 15 figures is over $13 each. For what they are, and how... "retro" the sculpt jobs are, that's a big ask.

Judging from the case they come in the whole production is done by Reaper under contract. I just posted this up at reaper's forums as it looks like none of the users there is aware of these figs.

While I don't defend the costs above, I'd like to put it a bit more in perspective. I sold my copy of the mini in the OP on ebay for $80 two or three years ago within 48 hours of putting it up via Buy it Now (and I purposely undercut the price trend of it by 10 to 20 to sell it quickly). I don't think these are aimed at casual "I need some scifi monsters" collectors.

I love the game and the case is very cool, but the sculpts are not THAT good. Not $200 good.

Looks as though they are out of stock again. Not sure if they had a limited number or if they will be restocking.

Regarding the old ones and the prices that they fetch, I had sold three sets of them about 8 years ago and it brought in around $2000 for all three. I still have a bunch of them, probably enough to put together 4 more sets plus more of most the monster types. The people who collect those sorts of things, and even gamers who are looking for a certain sci-fi look will pay a ridiculous amount for them.

I saw a link to this the other day- supposedly they were going to go up after PAX. I suppose they just sold out already.

I may have to look into Ebay then! I have both a Mancubus and a Cyber Demon from the good old days, and that would buy a lot of other models! (Well, maybe not from GW.. .)

For 200 dollars they ought to be silver, not pewter.

I sold my set (1 of each, 2 of some) for over $500 a few years ago to pay for college. Wasn't a bad return on investment since I got them for free for touring their facility a few miles from my parent's house.

They are decent minis, but I find it odd that they are only including 1 of each instead of packaging them like they used to come (2-3 of some per pack).

Maybe it has something to do with the way the mold is set up. In spincasting metal molds, you have minis in a circle and I could easily see them doing a circle of one mini each on a single mold.

Reaper normally don't design their molds that way, as it means if you need a bunch of one model, you're wasting time getting all the others, too (true, you can toss them back in the melting pot, but that means you're still only getting the one model you need from each spin rather than several of them).

Ha, I had the Pinky demon from pre ordering Doom 3 through EB all those years ago. If I know they'd be so valuable I'd have kept it, it just got lost in the shuffle.

Then you still wouldn't. Moulds wear out and if you did that, one bit of damage would mean you'd have to redo the entire mould instead of just spinning molds with 10%-30% faulty cavities a few times extra.
You'd have to be insane to do that, or be doing a VERY limited run and be very, very confident every cavity would stand that no. of spins.
It actually makes even less sense than on models sold separately

I've painted 2+ sets of these over the last year and I'm getting more and more requests now that these are available again. I think that the $200 price point seems to be just fine since most people who got them over the last decade paid much more than that.
