Did a bit of repainting on my Mantic Plague Stage 3 and Aberrations. Fun models, but magos purple contrast and the really yellow speedpaint bone colour were not the right choices.

I think I'll go with the GW crimson wash (which has to be one of the best washes ever) and a drybrush of palid wych flesh for my other plague victims.

Today I learned Warhammer doesn't fix stuff that you bought from a non-Warhammer store!

My option is to return the Custodes Battle box back to the store for a refund, for 1 spear.

I think after a lot of the abuse of the system the method now is that GW expects you to go to point of sale and return there and then the store issues a replacement/refund and then GW fixes it for the store.

I think Gw had a lot of issues with people buying kits on "ebay store" and wanting a fix for something that had already been fixed and was being sold on again.

I know one time they wanted proof of purchase from the store (in the UK) so that they could track the sale to make sure it was a store that they distributed through.

Should I just mark the spear as a loss and work on building the rest of the army?

Absolutely.

Also try various FB trade groups, Ebay etc. Heck, post what you need here (sale/trade forum). And see if anyone else you play with has a spare they didn't use.
It might be easier to get a replacement spear than you think.

Spent the evening refurbishing an old Land Raider hull we use as terrain here at the house.

Dug through the endless bit/spue boxes & kit-bashed it new lascannons, new sponson mounts, hatches, Stormbolter, & a HK Missile. Not one bit of this stuff is LR parts.
Scratch built it a new lower front ramp & side doors.
Now the hulk itself is sitting in a small bucket of Isoalchohol to strip the terrible heavy spray/primer.

It's my birthday today!

I'm building some Custodian Guard... and waiting by the mailbox for all the gifts that you sent me.

Yep. The mailman should be delivering something soon... yeah...

Not much today, I wanted to play my Five Parsecs encounter but can't find the number of models needed for the enemies by a factor of one. So trying to decide how I'm going to do it. It also got too late in the evening, and I am super tired, lol

Finished fixing my Plague Stage 3 and Aberrations and got some paint on my Big Mutants for my Chaos army. I'm gonna mix in my Plague with my Lost and the Damned as mutants anyway, so I'm keeping the schemes sort of unified.

Took me a while to even realise what the problem is.

That's it, a broken spike?

Cut it off all the way, file down the contact surfaces on both points to get an even angle, glue it in place. Good as new.

That trim is giving me funny looks though. And I think it may have called me a knob.

It isn't metal or resin, so no need to cut it and file.

I would just put a tiny tiny dab of plastic glue in the break, and bend it back into position.
The chemical welding should melt the plastic enough for a bond, and if there is squeeze-out, you can clean it up after it sets.
No big deal.
If the spike was missing, I'd shave the casing smooth, as if it were never there.
The forgiveness & workability of plastic.

Little breakages are a pain, but yeah I'd just fix that by cutting the part off; clean up any mark on the model and you won't eve notice its missing. Or if the kit has alternate weapon choices just choose an alternate weapon for that box and use a different box for the damaged gun

You know that sale on Vallejo Paints at Hobby Lobby I told you about? I bought all of them left at my store:

Will any of them help me paint my Custodes?

1 × Brass
1 × Bronze
2 × Flat Green
1 × Old Gold
1 × Gold
1 × Camo Dark Green
1 × US Dark Green
1 × Hull Red
2 × Dark Gunmetal
1 × Dead White

$12.71 for the whole batch, not bad right?

Finished the 15th encounter of my Five Parsecs campaign today. Wasn't the most fun battle yet, but ended in another victory for Captain Sela Orrel and the Crew of the Orray. Then went through the 16th Campaign Turn which saw the Crew leave the world of Gough to a new one named Sarrail. I'm doing the Campaign thingy in the Five Parsecs core rulebook and had to travel to a new world for the next encounter. But I wanted to anyway, it's a nice change of pace!

Built my War Despot. Really simple model; super monopose. Overall he’s alright, but for the leader of a “typical army”, there’s not too much variety to be had. Hopefully GW rectifies this an edition or two down the line.

Gonna paint him in a classic red Chorfs scheme.

The thing about Warhammer is that no one person can grasp the fullness of it.

I FIGURED IT OUT.

What to do with my Tau.

I am excited now. Will show off the idea later, first I have my current unit to paint (and I figure I'll finish off the Fire Warriors as they are, too - I'll just say they are a specialist unit and therefore coloured differently).

But I have finally turned that sinking feeling around, I think!
